Chapter Two Hundred and Eighty Six

Ella POV

When I saw my father froze upon seeing Sarah's mother, the thought in my mind was that the two of them are old lovers that broke up and this is the first time they are seeing each other. But on a second thought I remembered that Sarah's mother already saw my father pictures either on magazines or newspaper, she would have recognised him from there. That only means that this is actually the first time they are seeing each other and my dad comment that he is shock to see how such a young lady is the mother of Sarah and Josh. I believed him when he gave that as his reason for why he froze but my belief started changing when I saw how he is looking at her, I know that the reason why he froze is not that he is amazed at how young Sarah's mother is looking but because he find her attractive.

They were having their conversation completely forgot that we are in the same room with them, it seem like they are the only ones in the room and for the first time I saw that twinkling light in my father's eyes. I know that it have not been up to one hour they met each other but I know that there is a great chemistry going on between them. My jaw literally dropped on the floor when my dad pulled chair out for Sarah's mother, something he never done for my mother while she is still alive and he never did that for me as well. I really need someone to share my observations with and the perfect candidate is my best friend.

Though I wanted to get on her nerves today but I don't think I will proceed with my plan cause there is more important issue to attend to. I sat down beside Sarah, we started dishing out food. My father directed all his attention to Sarah's mother, making sure that she has the right quantity of food and also there is no bone in her food. Am sure by now my eyes are already out of it's socket cause of what am witnessing before me but strangely Sarah is all calm. Maybe she did not notice anything, I need to call her attention to what is going on and see what her reaction will be. Hey, Sarah, I nudged her side.

Sarah looked at me silently asking me, what? Do you notice that something is going on between your mother and my father? I asked her. Sarah looked at both my father and her mother and nodded her head. Yeah, it seem like we are about to be real sisters, she answered nonchalantly seemed less bothered than me and I don't know why I am even bothered. Are you not bothered at all? I asked her. Sarah shrugged her shoulder, I don't see any reason for me to be bothered with them, they are adults and they have the right to do whatever they want with their life, Sarah answered.

I saw the point she made but am afraid if they pursue their feelings and they did not end up together, what will happen between Sarah and I and also her mother and I. What if they start to date and they did not work out at the end of the day, what will happen to us? I asked her what's on my mind. Nothing will happen, we will still be friends and sometimes talk about how our parent dated before, if that is what you are worried about, Sarah answered. Her answer calmed me down while I tried to ignore what is unfolding before me.
