Chapter Three Hundred and Ninety-Four

George POV

After we confirmed that we are pregnant, My mother insisted that Sarah should be going to work with her, that way she will be teaching her what she needs to know about being a president of a company and also take care of her which she is sure that I will not be able to do. We had a lot of arguments about who Sarah should be with at this moment but at the end of the day, Sarah chose my mother. Sometimes Sarah seems irritated to see I am always walking on an eggshell, but whenever I remember that I will be a father, I tend to forget everything about it. The news of the pregnancy seems to give me a new purpose in life, when it comes to the office Aunty Rose and I are the ones handling the whole stuff. I would like to have another assistant but knowing there is danger lurking around, I don't want to take that risk.

Am in the office finishing the design I have been working on for the past two weeks when I heard knocks on the door. I asked the person on the other side to come in, the door opened and my cousin walked in carrying lunch bags. Hey bro, hope am not disturbing you? I brought you some lunch, Victor said showing me the lunch bag. I know that he is not here just to have lunch with me, cause I can tell that he looks tense and that only means that it is something that has to do with his father. Since when did you become a delivery guy, I thought you opened a company, I teased him. Ouch, am hurt, how can you say that to your younger cousin, Victor said placing his hand on his chest, he can be so dramatic at times. Give me three minutes let me round up what am doing, then I will come and join you, I told him. Take your time bro, I will wait for you, Victor said to me and turn his focus on the food that he is set on the table.

I finished with my work and join him at the table, the two of us are our food in silence, and when we are done eating I addressed him. Victor, I know that you are not here just to have lunch with me, can you tell me the real reason why you are here? I asked him. You know me too well bro, you are right I came here cause I have something to tell you and it's about my father, he said. Well, I kind of figured out that is why you are here, so what did he do this time around? I inquired from him. Victor told me of the recent developments with his father and his father's meeting with Anna, though he won't know what exactly they talked about the two of them came out of the casino smiling at each other like old friends. I know that Anna's apology was fake but her husband failed to see that, my uncle dismissed his security men which are sure they are somewhere far from the mansion waiting for his order to appear.

Correct me if am wrong, but the reason why your father tried to convince you that he has changed is cause he is already aware that you are siding with me? I asked him to be sure that my assumption are correct. Yes, he is aware of that, Victor confirmed. If not for the fact that Victor is uncle Steve's only child and I know how much he loves the boy, I will be afraid for his life. I know you are his son and he loves you so much but I will still advise you to be careful around him cause he might be using you without you not being aware of it, I warned him. Sure, I will be careful, I have to go now cause am meeting with some possible investors in Shourie, Victor assured me and announced he is leaving. Victor before you go I have some good news to share with you, I told him smiling. Victor who already stood up sat back and asked me to tell him the good news. Am going to be a father, I said to him while smiling from ear to ear. Oh my gosh, congrats bro, so am going to be an uncle, Victor commented while exchanging handshakes with me.

Yeah, you are going to be an uncle and this is more reason we should be careful, an innocent life involves now and nobody can tell or predict what your father is up to, I reminded him of the need to be careful. Sure bro, am aware of that and I will do everything in my power to protect that precious gift, Victor assured me looking so determined. He left afterwards and Aunty Rose walked, am about to tell her what Victor just told me but she hush me. There is no need for you to tell anything, I heard everything you guys discussed, Aunty Rose said. Wait, Aunty don't tell me that you are now eavesdropping on people's conversation, I teased her. He'll no, am not doing that at all, I was about to bring these files to sign when I overheard Anna's name so I decided to know what you guys are talking about, she explained. There is no need for you to explain Aunty, I was just teasing you, I told her. Okay then, what are you going to do now with what he told you? She asked.

I don't know but my mind is telling me that they are not going to strike now, they want to take time so that we will relax and think that everything is over, then they will strike, I told her what's on my mind. Well, you are right cause I think the same thing but I will suggest that we plant a mole inside the casino cause there seems to be their meeting point, Aunty Rose suggested and I don't see anything wrong with her suggestion. Sure, let's do that, we should have eyes inside there, I agreed with Aunty Rose.
