Chapter Three Hundred and Ninety-Five

With the news of my pregnancy comes the argument between George and his mother on who will take care of me, I know that the husband should be the one to take care of his wife when she is pregnant. But for reason best known to this precious gem inside me, he or she decided that they don't want to have anything to do with their father, sometimes staying around George irritates me but I don't want to tell him that cause know that he will be hurt. I told my mother about the pregnancy and she has been killing me with calls to make sure that I am okay and that I am eating the proper meal, the only reason why she is not living with me now is that George's mother assured her that she is here for me.

Ella has suddenly turned into a midwife cause every day she will share the latest tips about how a pregnant woman should live and my brother can't even hide his joy of being an uncle, he will call me at least three times a week to ask about his niece or nephew. George is the best support system and husband any woman should pray for, am glad God blessed me with him. I will officially assume my position as the president of Vincent Corporation and am so nervous, I know that a lot of the board of directors will be against the decision cause a lot of them are not aware that being married to George. I have been training under George's mother to be the best president of the company.

It was not easy at all, sometimes I felt like my head is about to blow up cause so many numbers that I need to read and remember all the time, George texted me to wish me good luck, though he will be in the meeting when the announcement will be made, he still texted. The time for the board meeting arrived and my mother-in-law and I walked to the meeting room, I sat down at my normal seat. Seconds later other board of directors including George started trooping in, my hands are shaking, I know that I have prepared a lot for today but am still nervous, and when everyone settled down the meeting commenced.

Mrs Vincent started addressing everyone, Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen, the agenda for today's meeting is to introduce you all to the new president and also to announce that I will be stepping down as the CEO and my son will take over, She finished talking and looked around to see if there is anyone that has something to say. One of the oldest men cleared his throat and ask for permission to talk which was granted to him. Your son is the CEO we all know that is inevitable and we have seen how capable he is, he has his own company which is a testimony and we know that our shares are safe but what am eager to know and am sure every other person in this room want to know that too, is who is the new president? He asked.

Okay, I was coming to that before you asked it, the new president is Mrs Sarah Croft Vincent, she answered him. Do you mean this young lady? The same man asked pointing at me, I can see the look of disbelief in his eyes. Yes that young lady and that young lady is my daughter-in-law and that makes her family and quality for the position, She answered. Am not aware that your son is married, I don't have issues with whoever is the president all I want is for the person to deliver, can you assure us that she can do that? He asked. Yeah, I can assure you that, I trained her myself, Mrs Vincent assured him.

Well, that is that then, we have a new president and CEO, please both of you should take care of my shares, one of the shareholders joked. Everyone started laughing, well, I did not expect that to go easy like that, I guess I was worried for nothing.
