Third Person POV

Max went back to his condo, thinking about all that his parents said to him and he know that they are making a lot of sense, but the only person that has an answer to all that they said is Ella herself. Max already prepared his bath and was about to step into it, when his phone started ringing, he wanted to ignore it and continue with his bath but when he saw the caller ID, he abandoned the bath and accept the call immediately. Hey babe, he greeted. Hey, how are you? Ella asked him, this is also his area of worry, she never called him with any endearment and he want to hear her call him any sweet name badly. Am fine and you, Max responded while trying to mask the disappointment in his tone.

Am good and how was the meeting with the parents? Ella asked him. It went well, Max simply answered, cause he doesn't want to go into details unless she asks for it. So, why did they ask you to come over? She asked. They want to know when am ready to settle down, Max told her eagerly waiting to hear what she will say about it. Oh, typical parents, I guess since George is engaged they are also expecting you to be engaged as well, Ella said but she did not ask him the question she knew that he is expecting her to ask him. Max was so disappointed with her answer, he was expecting her to ask him questions ladies that want to be with their man for the rest of their lives will ask.

Are you not going to ask me what my answer was? Max asked her cause he can't bear it anymore. Am sorry, just that I don't think it's necessary to ask you that, Ella answered him while praying that he will drop the topic cause she is not ready to have that conversation with him. Ella, do you love me? Max asked her, he don't know why he asked her but he already asked her and he is waiting for her answer. Why will you ask me that? Ella questioned him cause she was not expecting that question at all, she was taken aback when she heard him ask the question. You know what, forget about it, we will talk later, goodnight, Max said and end the call. He knows that Ella is about to divert the question and he doesn't like it one bit, so instead of arguing with her, he decided to end the call for his sanity.

Ella can't blame Max for asking that question, cause nobody will be in a relationship where your partner will not assure you of his or her love. She knows that one day that Max will like to know his stand in her life, but she was not expecting it to be this soon. Ella is still afraid, she has witnessed her parent's marriage and she doesn't want to experience such a thing, that is why she resolved to not get herself deeply involved with anyone. But Max is different, she knows that she felt something strong for him but she doesn't want him to know so that he will not treat her like trash like her father did to her mother.
