A Long Overdue Reward

With Eneru out of the picture as the spat between the Angels and the Shandorans slowed down with the help of Gan Fall and Conis, everyone could take their chance to rest and recover from Eneru's attempted "Ascension".

It took a few days and a lot of careful moving but the Straw Hats and the most heavily of injured were placed in care on Angel island however Morgan was the first one up and moving despite his insistent warnings to stay in bed. "I thought that Conis and Aisa told you to stay in bed…" Gan Fall would lecture him as he finally found the Captain practicing in one of the Cloud Gardens.

"Couldn't sleep…Not to mention that I don't exactly agree with sitting still for long." Morgan admitted as he thrust a palm forward to break a plank clean in half.

"I can understand…But if you're not careful with yourself, then you may reopen your wounds. Especially after what the little Miss told me you did on his ship." Gan Fall insisted as he sat on a bench, Nami had explained what Morgan was able to accomplish and even the reinstated God had to admit that it was astonishing that he was able to hurt someone who could become like lightning. "But I have to ask, I only briefly showed you how to use Asura's technique…As a result; You managed to bring Eneru down with it and your Fruit, so why do you continue to stifle yourself? I practically had to force you into using your Fruit powers in joint with this."

"Because these powers weren't exactly given by choice so I'd much rather not get used to them especially when I have a Martial Art and Haki to master.." Morgan stated bluntly as he thrust a kick upward and then down again as an axe kick.

"That's a waste…You have phenomenal potential as you are and Asura's Mantra flourish with you and those six arms so train them up to become strong, you can't afford to be childish and squander what was given to you now…" Gan Fall couldn't help but scold him as he listened to Morgan talking about his otherworldly powers like they were an inconvenience.

Morgan growled as he turned around; "Maybe I am…I know it's childish to ignore it and it's stupid to neglect it but it's more complicated then that…I've already agreed to use it enough when I HAVE to but I just refuse to let myself rely on it."

Gan Fall sighed, he could somewhat understand why he was saying it but Morgan was clearly capable of a lot more. "Very well…It's not my business to tell you what you should do with your own powers but I should warn you this much: Being a warrior means training every part of yourself including your new powers, things are set in motion now whether you want it or not so take what I say as a warning and train yourself to the utmost…Because no one will care about your principles when they face you in battle." He warned Morgan before vanishing inside and left the Straw Hat to muse on his words.

Morgan had indeed thought on it, though it had been a back and forth process since Robin had thrust it upon him for the sake of a "Gamble" but he also knew that he couldn't keep blaming her forever and that he had a responsibility along with the things that go along with it. "I know...It sounds dumb that I push this into a box but I don't want it to become a crutch...At the very most...I can train it enough to use it competently if I have to..."

"M-My lord? The rest of your crew is awake." One of the attendants for Gan Fall called out from the doorway, ever since the stories spread that Morgan had the Asura Fruit; The Skypeians started treating him with more reverence and the Shandorans were now pledging their loyalty along with their unending support as the "God of War".

"For the last time, I keep telling you all to stop calling me that! I'm not your lord, I'm not even from Skypeia so you have no reason to start treating me like a king." Morgan reprimanded him as he stopped before turning to the attendant.

"Well, of course not because you are our savior; Lord Asura…You are one of the Gods here and as the custom with someone like yourself, we only show you the courtesy as such." The Attendant bowed despite the constant griping Morgan gave like he was a ruler who was trying to act casual.

"Honestly it's like a brick wall with you people…" Morgan sighed as he wiped himself down; "I'll go and meet them so go ahead and let them know." He requested as he didn't have the energy to get into that argument again.

"As you wish, my Lord!" The Attendant bowed and rushed off quickly with the exasperated sigh of Morgan after they left.

Ever since Morgan first woke up at Angel Island; People have been coming to see him for hours on end and all with the same routine of talking: First there was the thanking for saving them, then it extended to offering gifts or "Overdue Tributes" of food and alcohol, though he started drawing the line was when they started offering their daughters or recent widows as a means to appease him or to assure their renewed faith in their "Awakened God Of War"

Nami and the others laughed at the embarrassed look on Morgan's face as he was offered such niceties but even they had to agree that offering people to him was a little messed up and couldn't blame him when he finally yelled at them all to get out.

"You think Morgan would ever want to leave a place like this?" Chopper asked curiously; "I mean, the way that everyone treats him now is amazing: All the food and respect that a Pirate Captain could want, they hang on every word he says about the world below and treat him with the utmost worship on the ground he walks on…."

"Well, I doubt anything would change but I don't like the idea of that idiot's head growing bigger at being called a God and crap like that!" Sanji grumbled as he got together all the notes and recipes he could find, it was one thing that people were thankful to all of them for saving their lives but the fact that every woman wouldn't look his way yet threw themselves at Morgan still salted the wound, though he had to give him credit and a begrudging respect for being steadfast about not going behind Nami's back.

"Morgan's not an idiot!" Zoro was quick to rebuke this as he crossed his arms; "You're forgetting the fact that this is merely hero fever…People saw him take down a man who had their lives in a tight grip, anyone would be thankful for that regardless of his powers or lack thereof."

Usopp was placing the Dials he managed to accrue into his satchel and turned when he heard this conversation come up; "Besides, it wasn't just Morgan doing this…Each of us had our efforts put in to help!"

Nami was about to chime in when she felt a tap on her shoulder as Conis showed up to give them all a farewell gift but quickly pulled the Navigator somewhere quiet to talk. "What's wrong, Conis…And why exactly do you look so nervous?"

"Nami…Thank you…You and the others for helping us see the truth about Eneru and with everything…There really isn't any way that I can choose to express how grateful we are but I want to ask you something and I don't think the others might appreciate what it is." Conis explained as she fidgeted in place; Ever since she had been saved from Eneru's lightning by Morgan, she had been feeling all manner of emotions ranging from guilt at lying to him all the way to feelings that she felt would get her in trouble if she still believed in Eneru as God.

"Well, spit it out…You can tell me anything, I promise that nothing you say will re-"

"How can I get into bed with your captain?!" Conis blurted out rather quickly with a beet red face and glanced her eyes away from Nami since she realised that her reaction could be one of two things.

"Wow…Out of all the things I expected you to say, that was not one of them…" Nami admitted since she figured that Conis wasn't really the type. "I mean, I can understand why…He did save you after all but I gotta admire your guts for admitting this to his girlfriend~" She teased and decided to clue her in.

Conis looked confused for a brief second but then realised as she tried to backpedal; "I-I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to overstep! I never considered the fact that you and him might be a…a…."

"An open ended relationship~?" Nami decided to finish it for her and lightly nudged her in the forehead to stop her rambling; "Look, Conis…I don't mind the fact that you want him like that…Honestly, it kind of surprised me that you liked him that way but if you want to…Then he's the one you should ask." She reassured and then lightly pat Conis's head.

The Skypeian was thrown for a loop; normally when a woman makes a pass at another girl's lover, they get possessive, clingy or otherwise abrasive but Nami didn't seem to harbour those kinds of feelings, in fact it looked like she was borderline encouraging her. "I…You're really alright with me…and him?" She asked to reiterate and make sure this wasn't a joke at all.

Nami chuckled as she sat down; "Look, me and Morgan have our own little arrangement with this couples thing; With what he does for everyone and including for the tough spot that he pulled me out of…I think it's fair that he deserves to have fun, but on the condition that he doesn't do this without consent, try things behind my back or leave me behind to go off with someone…I do have my standards after all…But I also have a special clause for this IF you're interested." She explained to Conis who oddly enough seemed enraptured with her talking.

"W-What is it?" she squeaked out almost quietly and crossed her legs since she realised that she was given the green light.

"I'm glad to see you're awake and okay, Captain." Robin mentioned as she saw Morgan walking in as she was writing in her journal. "When the Sniper and the Doctor saw you coming in unconscious, they got worried and especially so when they heard you took on Eneru."

"I honestly thought that the shock wore off after what happened with Crocodile." Morgan remarked as he sat down to join her at the table; "I just wish that these people went back to hating my guts sometimes…."

"You can't blame them for seeing you in a new light, those powers of your's are the rarest of the rare and you used them to take on what they considered God…I'd say that's something astounding even for an extraordinary man like you." Robin pointed out as she glanced at him from her book. "Though it does make it rather odd considering your prior talk about not using it at all."

"Don't get me wrong, I still have things to say about it...But being on the sea like this means that I can't afford to shut it out completely." Morgan mentioned as he created his six arms; "If there are more people out there like Eneru then I'll need to be able to practice and master them…I just don't want to rely on them all the time."

"I can understand that…I just hope that you can trust me to help you learn how to wield multiple hands, the coordination takes time to get used to for someone with your powers." Robin suggested as she closed the book and gave him a sultry smirk along with a wink; "Of course I could always give you a more intimate teaching in my quarters once we leave~" She teased him as Morgan suddenly felt a hand gently rubbing on his crotch but when he looked down, there was nothing there.

"I'm not playing your games…You've helped us a lot since Arabasta and…Well…I guess I can admit that my opinion of you has improved a little because of it, I accept you as a crewmate but…I'm still not sure how I feel about you…that way, I mean…" Morgan admitted and then glared at her with seriousness; "So keep your hands to yourself in the future unless you want Nami to really get in your business…" He warned her as he quickly left to head outside.

Robin sighed as she was once again turned down; Admittedly she could understand why he was skeptical around her but she couldn't help herself with testing what her Captain had and seeing as she could feel anything her disembodied parts could touch; it only made her want him more. "I'll make things right for you, Captain…No matter what it takes…"

——Outside——

Zoro and the others were shocked when they saw the Skypeians and the Shandorans pushing a gigantic cart with a cover over it and waved at the Straw Hats; "What…is that?"

"IT'S A CANNON! HIT THE DECK!" Usopp panicked and dropped to the floor in a shaking heap.

"P-Please do not misunderstand our gesture, this is a gift of thanks from us in the Sky islands." One of the Skypeians would assure them and smiled and pat the side of it with a solid CLANG.

"It is one of the pillars from the Belfry that fell during the skirmish between God Eneru and Lord Asura." The Shandoran warrior added as he thumped his chest in recognition and the mob of other Warriors behind him followed the same gesture.

"Can you please stop calling him that?" Usopp asked them as he managed to recover himself and calmed down; "Morgan's not a God and he doesn't want to be called that…"

"Hold on, if that's one of the pillars then don't you need it to balance the golden bell?" Sanji asked curiously as he got thrown for a loop when he saw the Shandoran's "Salute" for Morgan.

"You needn't worry about it, friends…We've managed to improvise with one of the other pillars and balance the bell properly in our square where it should have stayed." An elderly man assured them; "This is merely to thank you all for your help in our plight."

"But…We can't exactly accept this…" Zoro began to state as he looked over the giant pillar but was stopped when one of the Elders held up a hand.

"Nonsense! Lord Asura and yourselves have done so much for us…We cannot let you go back to the Blue Sea without some form of recompense, this is the least we can do for you since He has denied us to worship him." One Skypeian protested and did their best to stand firm on the matter.

"I can see why Morgan got sick of talking to them quickly…" Zoro thought to himself as he sighed and decided to explain again; "No, we can't accept it because it's too big for us to fit on the ship…Besides even if we could fit it, that amount of gold will sink the ship and it's taken more than enough abuse as it is."

"Why not ask Lord Asura? He could fell God Eneru so why not ask him t-"

"Now now, I believe the young man made it very clear that he does not wish to be treated this way…I will ask him if he knows a way to cut this down but we can think of alternatives in the meantime." Gan Fall came in with a thankful intervention; "I don't know how your swords fare against gold but I can talk with our smiths and see if we can heat up as many Dials as we can to melt it down into something smaller….Where is Morgan, might I ask?"

——Meanwhile, at Conis's house——

Nami was thankful that Conis's father was out on business when she managed to catch Morgan walking out of where they had been staying. She filled him in on what Conis asked of her and of him in regards to sleeping with them both; It took a little convincing since Morgan was unfortunately skeptical about this since a lot of people around him were practically begging for the same thing, it was understandable since the two wanted to ensure that she did genuinely like him and this wasn't some exaggerated hero worship kind of thing.

"Can you really blame me~? Besides, we've finished our turn now so I think it's Conis's turn to take a ride on something other then a Waver~" Nami snarked and stuck her tongue out at him as she nodded her head to Conis to nudge him down.
