"Hey, it's you!! So you're royalty, huh?," said Jason -after recognising the boy as the one he rescued at the marketplace earlier.
"Oh, it's you," said the young boy in a cold and dark tone which sent shivers down everyone's spine present there, even Madam Florence.
"I'm sorry about that. He had a little issue today at Pardour but everything's fine, " said Count Damascus in a well-composed form.
"I wonder what happened after the fight today? And why is he so cold today?" Jason thought to himself.
"I know today was a bit terrible for you, but cheer up, will ya?" Jason said to Vincent with a smile but a serious tone.
"I don't need a dumb kid telling me what to do! I can take care of myself!" Vincent yelled at Jason.
"Excuse me?! Who are you calling dumb, weakling?! Let's not forget I saved your life today, so show some gratitude!," Jason barked back.
"Oh yeah?! Then let's have a go, right here, right now!!," Vincent barked back at Jason and positioned to fight.
"It's on! Get ready for—-Ouch! That hurts!!," Jason yelled but got interrupted with a big punch on the head by Madam Florence.
"That's what you get for being an idiot to even think of challenging a fellow student and royal!!," Madam Florence yelled at Jason.
"I'm sorry about all this, Your Highness. I swear, this won't happen again," she addressed to Count Damascus.
"Don't apologize, Miss. I should be apologising for my son's behaviour just now, but I will sort things," he reassured Florence with a calm and composed expression but gave Vincent a cold stare that it froze him on the spot.
It was oblivious to everyone except Jason who had listened to a lot of vampire stories so he had a fair idea of what was going on.
"That's the Penance Stare, huh? An ability exclusive to the vampire royal family that immobilises the target," Jason thought and finally concluded.
"Classes start tomorrow at three hours after sunrise, so everyone must report early. Is that clear?," Florence yelled.
"Yes, Ma'am!!," the students cried in unison.
"Good, then you're dismissed," said the Iron Woman, who was Florence's nickname throughout the Academy.
"Then, we'll see you tomorrow then. Come, Vincent, " Count Damascus said and entered the carriage and left.
"I better get home then before Mom gets worried about me," Jason thought and dashed off towards his house.
