Chapter 5- Burn Out

"I really like comfortable clothes"

Hikaru smiled then immediately called out to his two brothers, since he earned money, he must treat his family to having fun. Hikaru wanted them to enjoy their life after all, he also plans to buy a small laptop today.

Hikaru and his two brothers then went to a mall to have fun, he bought them new clothes, new shoes since what they use are old ones.

"Onii, I think we should not waste money, we can still use our shoes for a long time"

Kashima said in concern.

Hikaru smiled and ruffled his brother's hair.

"You don't have to worry, your brother will earn a lot of money in the future, just enjoy it for today, do not worry about other things and just focus on having fun, okay?"

Kashima nodded and did not say anything anymore and just followed his brother and also let Kotarou have fun.

Hikaru also became the center of attention of many girls, after all, he was a handsome bad boy. It was pretty rare these days since most of the people became lawful or some became thugs.

Hikaru didn't mind though, at least, they didn't disturb their fun, some brave girls also wanted to give their contact numbers to him but Hikaru politely refused.

"I need to go to the bathroom, wait for me here"

Hikaru needed to go to the bathroom so he told his two brothers before going towards the bathroom, while on his way, he suddenly noticed a girl staring at the stairs, it was a strange sight.

A pale-skinned teenage girl who is incredibly beautiful and attractive with back-length light brown hair that has bangs hanging over the right side of her face with a single medium-length hair strand on the left side, and light brown eyes.

She looked somewhat confused, Hikaru decided to approach her.

"Uh.. miss, is everything okay?"

Hikaru asked.

"Umm, it's not moving"

The girl strangely replied.

"Umm.. Its not going to move, its stairs, if you are talking about the moving one, its the escalators over there"

"Ah! No wonder its not moving, it's different from the the stairs from my house"

'What kind of stairs does she have?'

Hikaru thought dumbfoundedly.

"Thank you for your help, my name is Shichijo Aria"

"Hikaru Kagenou, do you have someone with you?"

"Yes, I came with a friend today, I wonder where she went"

"Uhh. Do you have a phone? You can call her"

"Ah! that 's right"

Aria then took out her phone and contacted her said friend, Hikaru waited with her since he already knew this girl is an airhead.

They waited for a while before a girl that had long purple-ish black hair and pinkish-purple eyes came.

"Aria, I was looking for you everywhere"

"Sorry Shino-chan, I couldn't climb the stairs"

"Its okay"

She then turned her head towards Hikaru and when she saw his appearance she seemed to be shock.

"Are you one of those thug guys who take beautiful women away and do them?"

Hikaru found her question strange.

"Fortunately, no, I'm just helping your friend here since she was staring at the stairs, anyway, I have to go now, please take care of your friend"

"Ah, yes, sorry for what I said and I will"

Hikaru waved his hand and proceeded towards the bathroom, it was a quick call of nature so it didn't take long for him, then he returned back to his brothers and continued their bonding.

While they were at it, Hikaru went to a store to buy a laptop, it took him quite a while but he bought a normal laptop at the price of 13 thousand Yen.

Good thing is the shop was on sale. The real price of the laptop is 23 thousand yen, it was a catch for Hikaru. After he bought one, he then continued their fun, it was already late in the afternoon that they decided to return back home.

Hikaru's two brothers were very happy when they returned home. Hikaru was of course happy too, their smiles made him happy. Hikaru was somewhat happy to understand how a father felt about his children? Well certainly not all of them.

After they got home, they ate their dinner and went to watch some cartoons on the T.V before going to sleep, Kotarou was already tired from playing all day.

Kashima tucked Kotarou to bed and also went to sleep while Hikaru started writing immediately with his laptop, he wanted to finish writing as fast as possible and write more novel to earn more money.

According to Ayame, his book will be published a month later or may 2 weeks, which is faster, they are already printing his book.

"Wait, didn't I earn 10,000 from the book? Shouldn't I have finished the mission already?"

Hikaru suddenly remembered, he immediately opened his system and looked at his mission.

"Eh? It's not counted… that's kind of disappointing, but whatever, maybe by the time the book is published on the market, I have already finished writing the Log Horizon, I won't have any problems with it anymore"

Hikaru consoled himself before continuing to write, it was already 11 pm when he decided to go to sleep.

The next day, Monday, Hikaru changed to his uniform once again and ate his breakfast, just like his usual routine, brought his two brothers to their school, a goodbye kiss on the forehead and also gave Kashima and Kotarou allowance.

Then made his way to his school, just like usual, Komi is very early and the first to arrive, Hikaru chatted with her while waiting for the class to start, he also told her that his light novel is going to be published which made her happy for him.

It was certainly a joyous occasion for them, Najimi who was also new to the group heard it and was surprised to know that Hikaru is writing a Light Novel.

"Hikaru-san, I'm an expert when it comes to novels, if its bad I will criticize it"

Najimi said with all seriousness, and glasses appeared out of nowhere.

"Well.. Sure, I don't mind"

Hikaru smiled wryly, even if his book doesn't become popular, he knew it has certain popularity to a group of people, that is enough for him.

It didn't take long for the teacher to arrive so their chatting was stopped, Hikaru decided to focus in class today since he had nothing to do.

In a blink of an eye, days have passed, nothing really much happened, except for helping Komi get some friends, also Hikaru meeting new people, right now, Komi's group of friends have grown into about 5 people? Not that big but it was a great improvement for Komi who is bad at communicating.

And today, there is something new, Komi got a phone… a flip phone… in this age, that is great actually.

"And umm congratulations I guess?"

Hikaru commented.

[And um..]

"?"

[Now I want to know my friends number]

"I see, let's call the others then"

Hikaru stood up from his seat then looked at Komi who had a deadpan face staring at him.

"Umm… oh you want my number, sorry I forgot about mine"

Hikaru immediately understood, Komi blushed when Hikaru said that outloud, Hikaru then went for his pocket but to his surprise, his phone is not there.

"Eh? Where is my phone?"

Hikaru looked around for a while but still could not find his phone.

"Sorry Komi, I'm going to look for my phone first, you can go get the others numbers first"

Hikaru gave a smile before running out, he remembered that when he went to Hachiman earlier, he left it on his desk. Hachiman is in class 1-2, it's not that far so Hikaru immediately ran towards Hachiman's classroom.

Komi only looked at Hikaru then turned her head towards her other friends, she approached Najimi and asked for his/her contact number to write it on a paper.

"Eh? Why write it on a paper when I could just p-"

Najimi stopped, then looked behind her and noticed someone was not there. She smiled knowingly before writing on a piece of paper, Najimi also told Tadano and Agiri, Komi's new friend, before they all dispersed back to their seats.

It didn't take long for Hikaru to return and it seemed like he was in a rush since he was sweating buckets/

"I'm back Komi, here is my number, I never bothered to memorize it so here you go"

Hikaru smiled as he showed his contact number to Komi who accepted it with a blush as she noticed Najimi was looking at her with a big smile.

But the moment Hikaru gave his number to her, she gave a beautiful smile that even Hikaru blushed.

'That's dangerous'

He thought.

'..."

Just after that, the teacher arrived and Hikaru sat back in his seat hiding his blush. Thankfully, his bangs are long enough to cover his red face.

The teacher then stepped in front and announced.

"Let's decide on the representatives today, first up is the class prez, the top dog."

"Ehh…"

'It seems like no one like to be the class prez, well, it's understandable since almost all works will be dumped to the student from the teacher and you also have to look after your classmates, simply, it was no different from being a nanny'

Seeing no one is willing, the teacher just changed her strategy.

"Who do you guys recommend?"

The moment the teacher said that, they all turned their heads towards Komi which surprised her.

Hikaru turned towards Komi and could see she was shaking, not from excitement but she knew it was impossible for her, Hikaru sighed and turned to Najimi and gave him some hints.

Najimi immediately understood what Hikaru meant, probably.

In the end, Komi didn't become the Class Prez, but the goddess, its stupid, but at least Komi didn't have to become the class prez.

The one who became the class prez is Tadano, they wanted to give it to Hikaru as their revenge for taking Komi from them but they didn't want to die young so they just gave it to Tadano.

As for the vice prez, Hikaru voluntarily took it and the secretary became Kyoko Hori, the one that Hikaru bumped in the hallways also the one who reminded him on the computer lab, well, Hikaru is already acquainted with her so their job will be easy, after that the class continued.

Hikaru quieted down and sat on his seat, for some reason, he suddenly felt his mood dampen. He doesn't know the reason but it was as if he was tired, he took a deep breath and lowered his head so as not to let anyone notice.

He remained like this until the class ended, when he looked up, he saw Komi staring at him, she seemed to be concerned about him.

"I'm okay, Komi"

Hikaru replied with his usual smile, then he suddenly noticed that Najimi and the others were gathering playing a game.

"Hmm? Look Komi, they are playing, why don't you join them, Tadano, why don't you teach Komi"

"Okay"

Tadano nodded and Najimi, who has good senses, immediately heard it and pulled Komi away, Komi didn't say anything but she was looking at Hikaru who was staying behind his seat.

Hikaru saw that Komi had joined, he took his notebook and laid his back on the chair and put the notebook on top of his head.

'Am I burnt out already?'

Hikaru thought as he looked at the darkness in front of him, he felt like the strength on his body was leaving, thinking about it carefully, he felt a little light headed this morning but he didn't really think of it that much, maybe because of his continuous staying awake late at night?
