The next shooting

The next day I arrived at work as the day before.

The whole topic today was about a razzia.

We will help the S.W.A.T team with a Razzia they will do. We will only patrol mostly though.

The two suspects are dangerous. One even served in the military in a Blackhawk.

We didn't really do anything major until night. That was when the Razzia began.

"7-Adam-07 arriving at the scene", I said into the radio. Officer Lopez taught me how to use it today. It wasn't too hard. I easily remembered everything.

"You are getting more and more proficient. You have a promising career in front of you Officer Alvarez", Officer Lopez said with a smile while stepping out of the car.

"Good evening Officer Bishop and Officer Nolan", I greeted the other two officers in front of me with a smile.

"Hello, Ethan. How was your day?", Nolan came up to me and started to talk with me.

"It was pretty average. Almost nothing happened. And on your side?", I answered his question and asked him a question.

"The same. I still need to recover from that crazy woman yesterday", Nolan answered. 

The woman he talked about was the one he was assigned to yesterday. It was rumored that she had gotten pretty crazy and damaged her boss Mercedes.

Judging from Nolan's words it is true.

We soon started hearing gunshots.

"Let's separate. You that road and we that one", Officer Bishop said.

"I wish you guys luck", I said to them as I approached the road downward with Officer Lopez.

Walking around we still heard gunshots, but they weren't from our direction. They were higher up—probably Nolan and Officer Bishop's direction.

Soon another sound of gunfire was heard. This time much closer.

"It seems that they have met Officer Bishop and Nolan", I said seriously to Officer Lopez. She nodded.

There were several more gunshots and we soon heard a communication from Officer Bishop on the radio.

"They are going down the canyon", she said.

"Let us speed up. We can intercept them if we hurry up", I shouted as I started running.

Officer Lopez soon also started running.

We started running towards the location where the helicopter was reporting.

"Be careful! They are coming!", I shouted to Officer Lopez, who was only now catching up.

"Hands in the air! You are arrested!", I shouted at them.

I expected resistance and concentrated on their expressions and muscle movements.

As expected I soon saw the female one try to shoot.

"BANG!", a shot was fired.

I shot before her. I hit her in the arm immobilizing it.

She immediately lay down on the ground screaming.

"I SURRENDER!", the other guy was not as courageous as her and had already surrendered.

"You are arrested!", I said to both of them as I put handcuffs on them. Immediately after I began to treat the female ex-military suspect I shot at.

It wasn't hard to do that. I had pretty good medical skills.

Soon some other police officers and members of the S.W.A.T team gathered until the ambulance arrived.

When it arrived we all went back to the police department for a small meeting.

Everyone who participated in the operation needed to attend it. In it, we will speak about what we did good and what we did not do good.

The not-so-good ones should be improved and not happen.

"Thanks for everyone attending this meeting. First of all, I want to say congratulations to Officer Alvarez for arresting the two criminal suspects. Let us applaud him!", Captain Andersen said to everyone in the meeting room.

Everyone suddenly applauded me. Even I was a little embarrassed by it. This embarrassment soon caused some of the older policemen to start to laugh a little.

After that, the real meeting began.

We talked about everything. Luckily I didn't receive a single negative thing, only positives. This was a good sign.

Towards the end, Captain Andersen still had something to announce.

"Who will be patrolling the hospital where suspect Kai de Vera stays at? We will need a few"

"They will be staying in the Los Angeles Grace hospital", she added shortly after.

"I can go as a standby officer. I know someone in there who I haven't seen for a long time", I said to the Captain. I hadn't seen Doctor Grey since the last accident I had.

"That is nice to hear", the Captain said with a smile.

"If the little hero is volunteering I will also go", an old officer said with a laugh.

Soon after more people raised their hands. We even got a little more than needed.

After that, we all drove towards the hospital. We were put up on the floor in the hospital where the suspect stayed. 

Luckily due to me arresting the two suspects I had gotten a little extra privilege and was on StandBy and could wander around.

Walking around the hospital I soon saw the doctor I was looking for. Doctor Meredith. I wondered if she still knew me. It has been about two years since I had been here due to the earthquake and a few months since the motorcycle accident.

Meredith was currently chatting with another beautiful blonde woman.

I recognized her as Izzie from the series Anatomy Grey. No huge surprise for me as I already knew Meredith.

"Long time no see Meredith", I said in a half-joking manner.

"Another accident?", she joked back and hugged me.

I smiled. It was good to know that she still knew me.

"Who is this?", Izzie asked Meredith curiously.

"Ethan Alvarez. A previous patient of Meredith", I extended my hand towards her with a smile.

"Nice to meet you. I am Isobel Stevens", she said shaking my hands.

"Why are you here?", Meredith asked curiously.

"I shot a criminal and she is stationed here", I said.

They both reacted to it with a little shock. I knew it may have been a bit excessive to say that without any prelude.

Due to that, I told them the whole story about what happened.

While I was chatting something happened in Kai de Veras's hospital room.
