Phils birthday

Time flew by like nothing and soon it was April

Today is Phil's birthday. I was invited to it. I already bought his present quite a while ago. It was a Handcuff from the real Houdini.

While I was doing my morning jog I suddenly received a phone call from Claire.

"Ethan. I need your help. Please.", Claire said almost pleading.

"What's wrong Claire?", I asked her.

"I wanted to buy Phil the new iPad, I set the alarm for 4:30 a.m., went downstairs, but fell asleep on the couch. Have you got any way to get the new iPad?", Claire asked with obvious hope in her voice.

I looked behind me as I was already back home and saw the annual gift package I got from Apple. At a certain point of money, you invested in the company you get some prototypes of future phones or iPads even long before release. And they were certain to work. Even better than the others that are getting sold. I invested with different share accounts. Due to this, I get many of these.

I smiled and said.

"I have got something even better"

"What is it?", Claire asked expectantly.

"Meet me at the park near your home in an hour", I told her,

"Ok", Claire said and hung up the phone.

I quickly went into the shower and drove towards the park I told her I would meet her.

I quickly saw her running here.

"What do you have Ethan?", Claire asked expectantly seeing the package I carried.

"The newest prototype of Apple's new iPad. A generation better than the one currently sold.", I told her proudly.

"Will it work? I mean prototypes are like a test, right?", Claire asked disbelieving.

"These were observed by many people before getting out to some shareholders", I told her the truth.

"And if it doesn't work you can directly go to Apple to get a new one for free", I added handing her a receipt. 

"How much should I pay you for that Ethan", Claire asked a little bit ashamed knowing she probably would be able to pay the price.

"Nothing. I got a few of them as I requested more", I told her.

"Really Ethan? If you want anything- tell me", Claire asked happily.

"No. I don't need anything Claire", I replied.

"Thanks, Ethan. Thank you so much", Claire said hugging me.

I quickly hugged her back. This was the first hug of me and Claire. 

I smiled. It seems like she finally accepted me.

She quickly went back home to give Phil his present.

I also went back home and prepared everything.

I was rewatching Batman again and then got ready.

I drove near the Dunphy's house and rang the doorbell.

"Thanks for helping my mom Ethan", Haley said giving me a quick kiss.

I quickly got in and saw I was the first one to be there.

I went to Phil and immediately gave him his present.

He was so excited that he immediately went to get a camera and sent it to his magician friends.

I was happy seeing him happy. 

Phil had such a charm on him.

~ding dong~

The doorbell rang and Mitchell and Cam came. 

I greeted them. We were now regarded as familiar.

The doorbell rang soon enough again.

This time it was Jay, Gloria, and Manny, who were arguing about chess.

The evening went perfectly and I can't describe how happy Phil was to see the new iPad. 

After hearing about how high-tech it was Phil almost fainted.

I was feeling genuinely happy for Phil.
