Prince Rudo

Prince Rudo.

I noticed him by his fair skin and white hair. He stood out in the crowd. Almost as much as myself and yet, he had a talent for taking eyes off of him. He greeted people nicely and because he had mostly likely been to events like this before, several men greeted him warmly.

No one reacted to his presence as I did though.

After greeting his friends, Prince Rudo just walked away from them. He just walked without shame. Only the King reacted to his every move. Ever so slightly.

Of course no one noticed that.

Prince Rudo walked around for a minute. I watched him intently.

No one even knew how the first prince looked like but since I had played the game I knew him at first sight. He wore his signature spider Lilly pin. The pin which his commoner mother had given him.

The red shone brightly on his light blue ensemble but for some reason it wasn't offensive to the eyes.

If someone looked well they would see his beauty. He was beautiful because he was unique.

Looking at Prince Rudo's white hair and his blue eyes, I remembered Loki's pitch black hair and eyes. The two were complete opposites.

I smiled and I found felt myself lose focus for a moment.

"Excuse me miss," A deep voice said melodiously.

Hearing this, I looked up to see the dazzling white hair of prince Rudo.

"Would you mind if I stayed on the balcony with you?" Prince Rudo said.

I felt my heart skip and beat and my body tense up. But because I felt this, I frowned.

This wasn't a normal reaction. I was feeling intensely overwhelmed just by the sound of his voice. At every word.

"Y-yes." I said meekly.

Hearing my own voice I frowned again.

"It would be nice if you could also leave... you should go out and mingle with the other women." Prince Rudo said. His voice was still kind and yet it was commanding.

I felt my mouth open to say something along the lines of "Yes sir!" But I stopped myself before I did.

I observed him for a second, searching for an enchanted item and there I saw it. His bolo tie. There was a tune engraved to it but I didn't know anything about runes.

However, I still spoke.

"It's not nice to use voice enhancers." I said to him as if giving him advice.

Prince Rudo was four years older than me. So hearing a little girl give him advice, he laughed.

"How did you know?" He asked with a smile.

"Enchanted object." I said simply as I touched the place between my clavicles.

He laughed a bit more.

I felt shivers go down my spine. This persona was completely opposite of the Prince Rudo that I had met in the game. Prince Rudo was more strict and rough around the edges. He didn't like niceties and so he never participated in them. He was serious all the time...

This made me question. Was this Prince Rudo's true self, or was the other one his true self. It's true that in the game I was playing in Ellie's perspective and so, I could only see something from one point of view but still, this change was exaggerated and frankly, fairly scary to me.

"You're fairly intelligent." Prince Rudo said simply.

It was mostly likely suppose to be a compliment but hearing this I frowned.

With Cecilia's memories I remembered the times she had spent studying and working hard in order to be more than the other ladies. To be smarter, stronger and more talented. And yet, she barely ever showed it.

It was because of the skin and the hair and the eyes. I drew too much attention and I never wanted to draw any more. It was like that in the past, and in the game where Cecilia Ashington had died. But no more...

"Recognizing when ones being enchanted, cursed or bound should be a skill everyone learns." I said matter of factly.

Hearing this, Prince Rudo smiled wide.

"Could you remove that?" I said a bit worried he was going to try to amplify the power so that it would affect me.

Prince Rudo laughed.

"Ah, I see there's something little miss intelligence doesn't know." Prince Rudo said as he approached me. His hand dragging on the wooden railing of the balcony. "Enchantments stop working on people who realize they're being enchanted."

I was frozen for a moment then I touched my throat.

If only that also worked on bindings.

"You know, you stand out." Prince Rudo said snapping me out of my own mind.

"You stand out, just not as much as I do." I said simply.

Prince Rudo shrugged.

I didn't want to get too involved with Prince Rudo. Ariadne died before their wedding after all and for some reason I couldn't shake the feeling that it was because of Prince Rudo. But from what I knew about the game, my engagement to Prince Rudo would be inevitable.

Maybe in the game I had talked to Prince Rudo just like this and it was why we got engaged in the first place...

Just got home after a long day. Sorry for the late update.
