Blind date

Shao Rong entered the room with a polite smile looking at Ren Weimin. "Hey. Long time no see." She nodded her head with courtesy and as Bingwen entered from behind and stood beside her, she held his arm and turned towards him with a smile, "Mr. Sun. You never told me that Weimin was your friend. I was pleasantly surprised." As she spoke she gave a squeeze on his upper arm with her hand that was holding his arm.

Though he didn't understand her signal much, he went along with her words, "Yeah, we were filming together here in City B. But I don't know that he would be here too."

As he was speaking, Ren Weimin who was not allowed to speak looked intently at her hand which was tightly holding Bingwen's upper arm.

A friend of Bingwen chimed in, "Actually I was with Weimin when you texted me. I got to know from him that you both were filming together and hence considered acquaintances. He was my classmate in university, so I thought I would bring him along with me for having a little fun."

Weimin turned towards Bingwen and spoke, "I hope you don't mind my intrusion in your gathering, Bingwen."

Bingwen awkwardly smiled and looked at the smiling Shao Rong and laughed, "How could it be, Brother Weimin. Of course I don't mind. Please sit."

Weimin nodded at him and turned again towards Shao Rong, "Long time no see."

The previous friend who spoke for Weimin spoke, "Do you both know each other?"

Shao Rong spoke, "Yeah, we were classmates in high school."

"Oh. Then everyone is friends here. Great, great." He then looked at Sun Bingwen to tell him to introduce her to everyone.

"It's ok. I'll introduce myself." Shao Rong spoke and Bingwen nodded and sat down along with everyone else and took a drink in his hand and took a sip.

"Hello everyone, I'm Shao Rong. I just met Mr. Sun yesterday for a blind date. Since we were bored today, we thought of meeting his friends and I came along with him."

As soon as the words 'blind date' was spoken two people sprayed the drinks from their mouths and started coughing.

One of them was Sun Bingwen who was shocked beyond words while the other was the equally stunned Ren Weimin. For a second he lost his composure and coughed hard.

As his secretary, who stood beside him, gave a glass of water and tended to him, Bingwen was tended by Shao Rong who took a tissue and wiped his lips intimately after he drank some water.

After he recovered, he took the tissue from her hands wiping himself and looked at Shao Rong with questioning eyes which were trying their best to widen but he controlled himself so as not to expose her.

She simply smiled and looked at the coughing Weimin and then back at him to indicate that they would lie in front of him and he nodded slowly in understanding.

The coughing Weimin failed to notice this interaction between them and looked at them after he recovered from earlier.

All the other friends were shocked but did not care much about the news since it's not something special that their friend attended a blind date. They started teasing him for fun and the atmosphere turned harmonious in an instant.

They all started saying all the good and bad qualities of Sun Bingwen to Shao Rong in order to tease him and she laughed heartily at their antics.

While talking they toasted one after another and the glasses turned empty one by one. There was a pool table and karaoke where everyone started playing and singing.

The room is full of noise but with a harmonious joy mixed with it. As everyone were friends there were no boundaries between them and were talking about different topics with each other while a few joined in and a few had their own conversations with others.

In the end, Weimin, his secretary and Shao Rong were seated in the same place with no one to talk to and they looked at each other.

"How are you?" Weimin started the conversation but the tenderness in his voice shocked his secretary beside him.

"Good. I heard that you became an actor?" Noticing that he nodded, she chuckled, "Did your mom agree to that?"

Weimin froze for a second but turned normal immediately, "Well, I said that it would be a stress buster and she agreed."

Shao Rong gave a smile that did not reach her eyes that made Weimin desolate but he couldn't do anything.

As they were speaking they drank too much subconsciously.

When Weimin saw that Sun Bingwen was holding his phone and going out of the room he excused himself and followed him outside.

As Bingwen ended his call and turned around to go back to the room, he faced an expressionless Weimin looking at him.

"Does Shao Rong stay with you?" Weimin spoke the words suddenly which shocked Bingwen.
