Internship case 2

My stay at Fel´s agency continued. The day after the titan incident I had a lot of free time so I talked with the crew.

I was just looking at Coms doing paperwork or watching some shows on my laptop. Skywave was doing an inspection on the helicopter and Fel was sleeping in his office with his legs on the table.

While I was resting Hosu City was in a panic. There were villain attacks and fires, but nobody called us to action. For the Fel agency, it was a peaceful evening.

In the middle of the night, Fel kicked out my door. "Wake the fuck up Kira, we have villains to burn!"

"What is it, now?" I said sleepily.

"Coms will show you. Come on."

I put some clothes on and go to the monitor room.

"Good morning"

"Hi, Kira." said the sleepy Coms.

On the screen is a man armed with guns massacring what looks like a villain hideout.

"Mark Castle is a former soldier from America. He is wiping out villains across the world. Your mission is to apprehend him and send him back to America. He is quirkless so your job will be much easier."

Fel hands me a vest and says. "Put this on, just to be sure."

We got in an old Toyota Corolla and drove off.

"Can´t you afford something you know, not 20 years old?"

"Say what you want but it works wonders." Said Fel.

Skywave informed me about the plan from the earpiece. Basically, we will run into the villain´s apartment in the middle of the night, detain him and hand him to the police station. He lives in a rented apartment hour away from the agency.

"We´re here kid." Fel parked the car next to a shabby apartment complex.

"You´ll bust through the door with an explosion and I´ll run in. Got it?"

"Yeah"

"Great, let´s go!"

I disintegrate the door with a small explosion and immediately hear gunshots. That guy must sleep with a Glock under his pillow.

The bullet flies right at my head, but Fel deflects it with a shield. Damn, he must sleep with one eye opened.

The villain is hiding behind a kitchen unit, so Fel enlarges the shield to cover his whole body and walks towards the villain. The villain pulls out a machine gun and Fel finds himself under a rain of bullets.

The shield he made stands firmly without any dents, but the recoil stops him from advancing any further. I sneak around the counter.

However, the villain notices me and shoots at me with a handgun. I am easily able to catch one bullet with Killer Queen´s hand and return it with an explosive surprise.

I set off my first bomb in front of the criminal, resulting in him flying to the wall.

He stands up, coughs some blood, and takes a stance with his knife.

He stands there determined to fight till his last breath until a giant hammer flying over the counter knocks him out.

Fel sits down on the ground, sighs, and says. "Dude was a tough one for a quirkless. Handcuff him and put him to the backseat."

"Sure, but come quickly. I don´t want to wait an hour."

I grab the guy and drag him to the car.

After 10 minutes Fel comes back with a bag full of guns and a cigarette in his mouth. He throws the bag into the trunk of the car and sits down.

"Skywave, what are we gonna do with him?" asks Fel.

"I told you before. You´ll hand him over to the police station and they´ll transport him to America."

"Yeah, I forgot."

"*sigh* as usual" says the annoyed Skywave.

"Don´t make me look bad in front of our guest, Rei!"

Skywave ends the transmission and we set off.

"How long have you been a hero?"

"I started when I graduated from U.A so 9 years."

"You´re 27? You look at least 35." I say in shock.

"Watch your mouth, kid."

"Oh, stingy. How did you form your agency?"

"I earned some money working at other agencies and then started one with Skywave. In the beginning, it sucked. We didn´t get a lot of missions, but since Coms joined we have at least one mission a week."

"So how are you satisfied with your carrier choice?"

"Damn, I feel like I´m in an interview."

"Take it as crucial information for a future hero."

"To be honest if you have a good quirk you´d be stupid not to choose this job. Of course, it depends on whether you have your own agency or you are a sidekick. I personally make enough money to retire in my thirties and I split the money between three people equally."

"You split it equally?"

"It depends on the hero, but as both Skywave and Coms are my family I split it equally."

"You´re family?"

"I never told you, huh? Coms is Skywave´s brother and she´s my wife."

"Wow, you´d pass as her da..."

"Don´t you dare finish that sentence! We were classmates in high school!"

"Don´t worry, Kira. He barks, but doesn't bite." says Skywave through the earpiece.

We keep talking the whole way to the police station.

An officer took the villain and put him into a holding cell. Fel gave them all the weapons he found in the apartment and we returned to the agency.

I greeted Skywave and Coms and went to sleep.

I woke up at noon so I walked around the agency looking at what everyone was doing. There was only Coms in the office. The others went to eat lunch.

"Hi"

"Hi, Kira you´re already awake?"

"I wasn´t that tired surprisingly. What´s your real name by the way?"

"Fel didn´t tell you? My name is Yoshiro Miyamoto." He didn´t have a problem talking to me and focusing on his job simultaneously due to his quirk. "So how is U.A. these days?" asked Yoshiro.

"Great, except the entrance exam it is pretty good."

"Don´t tell me they still have the same entrance exam?"

"We fought against robots."

"Well, that was the reason I got into the general studies. What teachers do you have?"

"We have Eraser Head as a homeroom teacher then Cementos, Ectoplasm, All Might, and Present Mic."

"Ectoplasm was great when he taught me. How is All Might as a teacher?"

"Very... how to say this... theatrical in a way. He is overwhelmingly heroic."

"Fel doesn´t like him very much. He says he causes too much idolization for us, heroes."

"Did Fel go into school with someone famous?"

"You should´ve asked him. He always tells the story of how he beat up Kamui Woods."

"I can totally imagine that."

The doors opened and Fel with Skywave came in. "You´re slandering me aren´t you?" said Fel.

"Haha, I would never."

"Anyway Rei had an idea about having a movie night since tomorrow you´ll be leaving us."

Coms immediately added. "No, we´re not watching Underworld."

"Why not?" Retorted Skywave.

"We´ve seen it and It´s so goddamn horrible. Let´s watch a classic, like Star Wars."

"Now you´ve seen Star Wars at least seven times. Why would you want to see it again?"

They argued for a solid hour. In the end, we watched The Terminator. I never thought a monitor room in a hero agency would be used like this.

The next morning I woke up on a couch full of people. I packed my things and the others also woke up after a while.

"You are always welcome, here." said Skywave.

"You can visit whenever you want." added Coms.

"Come back to us sometime, kid." said Fel.

"Thank you, guys. It was a great internship. If I have the option I´ll come here next year." I said goodbye and headed back home.
