=============
"Masahiro, you are a fake. I heard what you did, you tore down an orphanage just to clear up enough room to make your agency. It's a shame it will never be finished." Stain raised his jagged blade high up in the air.
"Wait, no, please!" Masahiro pleaded. "I'll give you anything. I have money! Lots of money!"
"Heh, you think I care about money. I'm constantly on the run from the law, I live in abandoned buildings, bathe in rivers, hunt for my own food. Money is nothing to me."
"Please!" Masahiro pleaded again, but Stain raised his blade further up in the air, and thrust it down. It was the sound of an engine that alerted Stain to the imminent danger. Changing the course of his blade, he raised it in front of him, blocking the armoured fist that clashed into the blade.
Digging his blade into the ground, Stain halted the momentum of being launched backwards. Glancing upwards, he glared at the man standing there in white armour, hot steam puffing out of the engines protruding from his forearms.
He shared a few hushed whispers with the fake hero and made to pick him up, but Stain wouldn't have any of it. He wouldn't let the fake hero live!
With a grunt, Stain hurled a barrage of sharp knives at the turbo hero, his arms moving with a perfect motion perfected from years of practice.
Ingenium swatted the knives away with a swipe of his arms, the sharp objects doing nothing to the armoured suit. Stain narrowed his eyes, scanning Ingenium from head to toe to try and find areas that could easily be cut.
"Back away Stain!" Ingenium said with a roar.
"No," Stain etched, "That ones a fake, I won't allow you to take him to safety."
Ingenium growled, his body language portrayed doubt and nervousness before he seemed to make a decision, getting into a fighting stance, "Then I will have to stop you myself. I will give you one chance, turn yourself in and you will be given a leaner sentence. If not, I will be required to use force. You were warned."
"Leaner sentence? You mean 3 life sentences in Tartarus instead of 5?" He replied dryly.
"Looks like your answer is clear." He said, "RECIPRO BURST!" Ingenium screamed into the air, his engines heating up as he launched towards Stain with a speed he himself struggled to follow.
It was only through instinct that Stain raised his blade, saving his face from being pummelling as the knuckle of Ingenium's fist scraped on the edges of his blade. The grip on his sword tightened as Stain grimaced, trying all he could to survive against Ingenium's onslaught.
Stain was familiar with Ingenium and his toolkit, so he knew Recipro Burst was a move which in exchange for a short burst of high speeds, it immobilised the user's engines afterwards, rendering their quirk useless. All he had to do was wait it out, which is exactly what he did.
"Huff! Huff! Huff!" Ingenium took deep and heavy breaths, struggling to move his arms as they were fatigued, without the power of his engines to propel them.
Stain had sustained some bruises and cuts from Ingenium, but it was a worthy price to pay for what he was about to do.
"Looks like you've used your trump card…Hero." Stain said condescendingly. He had vigorously trained for over 10 years, both in mind and body. He wouldn't lose to someone whose days were spent taking pictures and capturing purse snatchers. The only one that was worthy of killing him was All Might.
He strode over towards Ingenium, glancing down at him with a look of equal admiration and disgust, "You are one of the true hero's Ingenium, but you stopped me from killing a fake, protected him even. I cannot let that go unpunished, you need to learn that your actions have consequences."
He raised his sword again, directly above an area with no armour covering it, "I will take away the most important thing to you."
CRACK
As his sword cut through the air, Stain had an audible crack ring in his airs. As the blade pushes further down, more and more cracks begin to show on the blade. Just before it could make contact with Ingenium's skin, the crack's connected, reaching a breaking pain as it shattered into a million pieces.
"Surrender now Stain, and I might be able to bargain 2 life sentences for you." Stain's eyes widened. That voice…
He glanced upwards, and he saw someone he thought he would never see again.
Akira.
He recalled when Akira was just a child and they underwent a mission together. He was rough around the edges, much too young to be a vigilantes, but the kid had a good heart. Back then he fell under the alias of Invincible the vigilante, but now he was Akira the hero.
The day Akira made his debut with All Might, Stain made the connection instantly. It was surprisingly easy to make.
Mentoring under All Might and Stars and Stripes, taking down the Meta Liberation Army, even stopping the attack at the USJ, Akira had picked up quite a reputation. Other than All Might and a few others, he believed Akira was worthy to defeat him.
"Akira, it's nice to see you again." He greeted casually.
The hero narrowed his eyes in response, "You must have me mistaken for someone else."
Stain released his slip of the tongue quickly. It wouldn't do any good to expose someone like Akira. If word got out he used to be a vigilante who killed people and worked with Stain of all people, his licence could be revoked.
"I've seen you on the tv." Stain corrected, "It's impossible not to with how popular you are. You are one of the only ones I don't consider a fake. Like Ingenium, I'll give you a chance to leave."
"If you know I'm not a fake, then surely you'll understand that I can't do that. There's people here that need saving, and I'm not going to abandon them, never."
Stain grinned euphorically, "Just the response I expected!" He took out a knife from his pouch, throwing it towards Akira in a quick motion.
As expected, Akira had easily dodged the attack, but the distraction easily gave enough time for Stain to equip another one of his knives and close the distance between them.
SWOOSH
Stain's blade cut through the air, missing Akira by a small margin. He kept slashing and slashing, trying to get a single drop of blood, but the prodigy was much faster than him. He was he so fast!?
He saw Akira clench his fists, and a moment later the knife broke apart into small amounts of metal. Stain reached inside his costume to grab another one, but a sudden flare of pain in his stomach made him kneel to the floor.
He coughed up a glob of spit, struggling not to vomit. In one last ditch attempt, he retrieved one of his remaining knives from his costume and swung it at Akira with a fierce vigour.
The knives inched closer and closer, and Stain thought he had managed to catch Akira off guard, but when he heard the sound of the knife begin to crack, he knew it was a futile attempt. He had no weapons left, he was finished.
His knife shattered onto the cold hard concrete, and with it, his will to fight.
Looks like he had another thing to add to his list of accolades and achievements. Stain was defeated.
