Observing the past few weeks, everything has been going swimmingly well. I managed to gain some EXP by having clones participate in the other class courses, as I exclaimed to Nezu, sipping some tea after school.
It's my usual obligation that whenever I reach a high enough level, I check up on Nezu, explaining what I found about my [Gamer's Path] skill. After exclaiming to him, he took a sip of his tea as he replied in a neutral tone, "I see having your clones participate in other class courses seems to also raise your EXP. Your 'experience' to speak as well. Good to see that fighting isn't the only way to gain them."
I curtly nodded my head, agreeing with Nezu leaning back as I asked the usual in a calm tone, eyes closed, "Yeah. But since I reached level 30, that means I have a slot to open copying a Quirk. And did you obtain the Quirk sample that involves some form of cellular manipulation or modification type?"
Opening my eyes, I saw Nezu smirking as he handed me a report. A report that mentioned every Quirk registered to date in the whole world was incredibly detailed as I couldn't help but compliment him in a respectful tone, "You have some pretty good stuff here, Nezu-Sensei."
I didn't bother asking where Nezu got this from. This was not supposed to be something the principal of UA should concern himself over.
But it wasn't my place to ask him either I was simply a student getting the best help possible because of my abilities and connection to All Might. Listening to what Nezu spoke in a neutral tone, eyeing me, "I certainly do, any of these you fancy? I can get the majority of them for you, just a few I will be unable to right now."
Being told I would have access to the entire world's quirk repository made me a bit greedy, I won't deny it. But I restrained that greed as I viewed the Quirks available, "I'll admit I want them all, but I must see which ones are useful. Since I can only copy every 5 levels I'll need to think carefully of my choices."
Nezu nodded as I began looking over the file. While looking through these Quirks I began to realize why All for One tended to underestimate quirks unless they show their potential clearly.
Not only was it easier for people like me and All for One to do it like that, but it was also because it's simpler. It wouldn't make sense for me to copy Quirks that don't require practice.
The only reason I copied [Slide and Glide] from Koichi at the time was because while it was tricky to master it was powerful. Only getting enhanced by [Gene Refinement] did it get more powerful from there.
And fortunately, I copied All Might's [One for All] adding my meta-knowledge to make it easily manageable. [Clones] were also easy to do now that I think about it along with [Creation] combined with [High Spec].
I know there might be quirks out there that are better than the ones shown in the series. I know, so if the file is to go by. But it was in my best interest to aim for Quirks that I knew were already strong.
This made it pointless for me to copy something I didn't know the full capabilities of, I might as well go for good quirks right away. I'm kind of starting to get why All for One simply uses simple Quirks.
Makes sense as well because All for One only ever stole very straightforward and easy-to-learn quirks. He admitted that Best Jeanist's quirk was powerful but that it took too much time to learn.
But the ones I collected were specifically made to complement each other. To cover each other's weaknesses.
Taking careful examination of each quirk and its usage, I found one that could potentially be beneficial for my cause. I pointed at this one with Nezu filling me in with a curious tone, gazing at my choice, "Oh? So, you picked an Emitter Quirk type with a Contact Range. [Cell Activation]? Not a bad choice."
He soon began to call someone to obtain the sample of [Cell Activation] as Nezu briefed me on who this belonged to and his capabilities. This Quirk belonged to Katsuma Shimano, a resident of Nabu Island with his older sister, Mahoro Shimano, and father.
[Cell Activation] Katsuma's Quirk allows him to stimulate and speed up the activity of cells in the body of anyone he touches. This allows him to heal a person's wounds, as well as improve their physical performance. Using his Quirk drains his stamina, and he will become very exhausted if he uses it for too long.
It is implied he can use his Quirk on himself as well. So far, his Quirk has been shown to work on people with type O, A, and B blood. Unlike his father's version of the Quirk, Katsuma's Cell Activation isn't limited to one specific blood type.
*Thud*
Entering the room was one of the staff members, Aizawa-Sensei, leaving the sample and shortly after muttering to me, "Don't be late to class, problem child."
He left as he came as I took the sample. And I did what I usually do copying a Quirk. Copy making it mine.
[Ding!]
[The host found the Quirk [Cell Activation]. Would you like to copy?]
[Skill: [Cell Activation] copied!]
Skill List.
----
<Cell Activation> (Active) Lv.-
PP Cost: Varies
Description: [Cell Activation] allows its user to activate the cells in their body or another person's body through touch. This increases regeneration, and recovery time, and can even improve physical condition.
However, [Cell Activation] drains the user's stamina when activated, and continued usage can cause fatigue. The Quirk also can't be activated on certain people depending on their blood type, although this version of the Quirk didn't seem to have this drawback.
----
Showing off my [Cell Activation], Nezu nodded as he spoke in an intrigued tone about how I refine my Quirk, "Good. At least you have a healing-based power to add to your arsenal. However, I'm curious to see how you refine it with your [Gene Refinement] skill. Can you give me a demonstration?"
I nodded as I began the process. Hopefully, this won't hurt… right? Bracing myself I began to make the changes.
[Ding!]
[The Quirk [Cell Activation] changed to [Cellular Activation]! Notable differences have been made in the description of the advanced Quirk!]
Feeling the burning stinging sensation subsided I panted sweat on my skin. Nezu looked at me with concern about calling Nurse Girl – but that was when the pain suddenly halted from the changes.
*Shiii*
My eyes looked to see my whole body glow a green light. It felt tiring but at the same time relieving. The pain subsided as I felt a pleasant wave of relief wash over me.
I managed to raise my hand to Nezu to stop his call, seeing my relieved expression. This new quirk is going to be useful but still, I gotta check. Skill List.
----
<Cellular Activation> (Active) Lv.-
PP Cost: Varies
Description: This was [Cell Activation], now refined as [Cellular Activation], allowing the user to activate cells within an organism's body, stimulating cellular functions, increasing physical attributes such as speed and healing, or maybe accelerating them with enough speed and energy to produce heat, destroying them by contact.
It can also be used offensively on targets by causing unnatural cell activation, causing cancer. The activation of cells can cause a temporary optimization, making the affected look younger. [Cellular Activation] drains the user's stamina when activated, and continued usage can cause fatigue.
----
With the effects subsiding, I explained to Nezu that the refinement worked as intended. He looked at me with a sigh escaping his mouth as he explained, "Sigh… you had me worried there, Yuki. I didn't realize that for each refinement, you would be in pain. I apologize for asking you this because I said so."
Rubbing the back of my head, seeing the familiar green light appears, I responded, being casual about the event, "It was no problem, Nezu-Sensei. While using my [Gene Refinement], my [Cellular Activation] kicked in, ensuring I wouldn't be in pain with my changes. Having a healing-based Quirk would come in handy that's for sure. And hey when I next time refine a Quirk I can at least not be in pain. But best not to modify my brain of [High Spec] just to be on the safe side."
Nezu nodded his head, agreeing to my words. But soon, he brought up something that I had in the back of my mind in a curious tone, "With that out of the way, I must ask. Are you considering using your Party System to assist your classmates in improving their stats? I know using your new Quirk we haven't tested out if you can refine your classmates' Quirks, but it would improve their abilities by increasing their stats?"
Hearing that, I responded to Nezu with a light chuckle, giving my honest response, relaxing in my seat in a calm tone, "The thought did occur to me. But with the traitor around, it would be kind of… difficult. I bet he already informed All for One about my refinement ability, possibly waiting for me to have a stockpile of improved versions of Quirks."
Understanding my concern and spreading my real abilities, Nezu nodded his head in understanding the issue. Nezu soon spoke in a relaxed tone about the issue regarding Yuga Aoyama, "Yes, that would be an issue… in the USJ, no one saw what he was doing at the time. And without a lack of evidence to properly tie him, we can't take any real action against him either, legally speaking. But this time, though, we'll prepare a trap."
Hearing what Nezu has to say gained my interest. Nezu continued explaining as he took a sip of his tea in a calm tone, "As you are aware, we just entered June. By the last week of June, there will be the Final Exams for the semester, but what most don't know, except for us, is that after the exams, we will hold a forest training camp. We'll have Yuga's items chipped, and if he informs us of any villain popping up, we'll get our man with evidence. But till then, he'll be within the class for now."
I curtly nodded my head, understanding his plan. It sounded as if anything went, but soon Nezu cheekily said with a smug grin, "But from what I hear from Midnight, you might form a following of ladies under you, young man. While it's important that having your youth is nice and all, don't let having all the fun go into your efforts into becoming a hero."
I groaned hearing that, being genuinely embarrassed. I can't believe Nezu wants me to agree with forming my harem idea, not for my well-being per see.
No. Rather, as I'm the last user of [One for All], it would be possible a future offspring of mine could be capable of inheriting it along with my abilities. In essence, to use the traditional Quirk Marriage practices to produce a strong heir.
And with my abilities, people are or have been seeking me out to produce an heir, tying me down to a hero family or rich family, becoming a guaranteed shot hero because of me copying other people's Quirks permanently. Some had the idea that since I had them, it would guarantee future generations to hit the genetic lottery number.
It was practically why I asked Momo about the subject. Despite her ditzy and airheaded behavior, she knows the political aspects of the Hero Society giving me a sort of guidance to see moving forward.
And Nezu doesn't seem to bother with my love life because when that happy accident happens, I would be a hero, adding to the cause. Or win the genetic lottery…
Or have someone who can refine and/or upgrade abilities in the future without consequence. That and he has a very drastic perspective of love or mates because he's an animal himself not knowing the difference.
Sighing out loud and rubbing my head, I soon brought up another topic to discuss with Nezu about the created materials out of my [Attract and Repel] quirk when I created them using [Create] in a curious tone, "Sigh… moving that aside of my love life. How are the materials I created using [Create] based on one of my Quirks [Attract and Repel]?"
Returning to his neutral expression, Nezu explained as he showed the file of a pair of gloves that have my ability to [Attract and Repel] in a serious tone, "Ah, right. Thanks to your [Create] quirk, it seems that these gloves do have the capabilities as your [Attract and Repel] Quirk. Anyone can simply put them on and use their abilities. This is quite an unusual byproduct of your Quirk Ren. Power Loader and a few other support course students are having a field day examining it. The possibility of adding Quirk into Support Gears…"
Yup. The possibility of adding Quirks into Support Gears seems ridiculous on paper. But not with my abilities if I use [Create], imbuing them with certain properties or effects. I proposed seeing these to Nezu, along with a few other things.
Having this and being paid Nezu was having these items sent to I-Island to further investigate their uses. Of course, I allowed Mei and Izuku to get them first before they were sent to I-Island.
Mei's drool, and like for me, increased while Izuku began to analyze their molecular structure to see how they performed. They wanted to reverse engineer to see how useful they were in the Support Gear or in their own devices that handsomely comply.
But that isn't here or there. For now, I had to see when my 8 hours for [Gene Refinement] passed to see if I could refine a person's Quirk using [Cellular Activation].
