Miracle Fists

"Another failure," Exia sighed in defeat.

After returning home, Exia immediately goes to train to cast a spell, only to be welcomed by consecutive failure. This made him frustrated as he didn't have a temper of a buddha. However, those failure experiences he went through did teach him a lesson about how to be patient. At least, because of that, he'll refrain himself from doing something rashly in the future.

Patting his cheeks twice, Exia muttered to himself, "Wake up Exia, you should be already content with the fact that you're able to form Mana Core instantly unlike most sorcerers."

After knocking some sense on himself, Exia starts to meditate to gather more mana for his Mana Core. Besides, he still wants to dig more information regarding the runes spell he got from scarlet-orb yesterday.

...

"Let's try again," Exia sought another chance to execute a spell after clearing his mind through meditation. At this point, he's becoming more familiar with the meditation after experiencing it several times. Not only does his mind turned sharper, but his skins going smoother as well as if he's using skincare products. If this continues, his original calloused skins will cease to exist slowly.

With limpid mind, Exia starts to imagining an invisible glove. Success in the first step, Exia proceed to the next step, which is none other than shaping his mana based on his imagination. Guiding his mana from Mana Core to one of his hands, Exia cautiously enveloping his hand by it to make sure another failure will not occur. After concluding his hand covered properly, Exia tosses the concept of cause and effects down to the glove. The cause and effect are because his hand covered in condensed mana, his hand will have an additional layer similar to wearing a steel gauntlet.

Turning his attention to his hand, Exia noticed supernatural force seems surrounding them. Understanding his spell was a success, Exia starts laughing out in satisfaction, "Hahahaha!!"

Finish emitting a loud laugh, Exia begins to inspect the result of his hard work. Now, he examined his hand, Exia realized mana isn't formless. In fact, they have a form like water, but grey in colour instead of blue. Exia's about to retract his gaze when his eyes caught a little amount of scarlet-colour surprisingly exist in his mana-glove.

"Is this?" Exia was speechless by his discovery. Apparently, little scarlet dots also appear on his mana-glove. It is unknown, whether in the future Exia would develop a trauma or something concerning scarlet-orb colour, considering how almost all his encounters in witchcraft, linked to scarlet things.

"My mana couldn't have gotten contaminated with the scarlet orb, could they?" Exia said jokingly. But that assumption grows more credible upon he recalled the cause of his instant Mana Core perhaps came from the scarlet-orb.

"Ah, shit! Well, whatever, with my current knowledge and tools, there's no way I could investigate it any further." Exia grumbled while sorting out his hair roughly. For a minute, Exia stayed blank before resolving his mind, "Yeah, I should just bury this matter deep down temporarily."

With that, Exia focused his mind once again to his mana-glove, "Let's test your might, shall we?"

Clenching his fist, Exia contemplated what thing might suitable for his experiment. While thinking, his eyes fell on the wooden desk ahead of him, "I don't think steel gauntlet can destroy a sturdy wooden desk, right?"

Saying that, Exia rose from his bed and start to approach the wooden desk. With their distance closing up, Exia proceeds to take a seat and tighten his fist before slamming it atop of the table not so rough but no so gentle either.

*Bam*

Along with the loud sound of thing being pounded, Exia watches the desk before his eyes slowly cracked, making his eyes widened in horror. As the crack slowly expanded, the desk finally split into two different part, producing a loud noticeable sound.

"What happens?"

"Is something crashed?"

...

After explaining he accidentally broke his desk, the crowd gradually dispersed, while Exia being the perpetrator had to be fined by the tenant.

Closing his door, Exia rubs his chest in relief, "Fortunately, it didn't cause big havoc."

Just a few hours ago, he thought he wouldn't make anything rash decision. But there he is, getting fined for wrecking a desk. Lucky for him, the tenant didn't place too many demands on him and merely asked him for the repairment fee, which cost him two silvers.

Covering his face in shame, Exia makes his way to his bed and studied his previous deed. He really didn't expect that the force he applies to the desk while activating his mana-glove could split the desk in half. Moreover, the mana-glove looks like only suffered a little bit of damage since the surface appears dimming slightly. This mean, he could still land several other punches that each one of them has the power to destroy a table. For him, who originally a weak chicken, attaining a power like this makes him basked in joyfulness.

Now, the next steps he needed to figure out was how to take his spell off. He couldn't be walking around with his hand enveloped in hazardous material, right?

Since he practically controlled his mana by a sheer thought, Exia assumed it works in his current case as well. Therefore, he starts commanded the mana that enveloping his hand to dissipate. However, Exia stops his command abruptly because he remembers something.

Rather withdrawing his spell, Exia attracted more mana from his Mana Core and led them over his mana-glove. His slightly pale mana-glove makes him realize that maybe the reason it goes paler was due to it needs to produce enough impact as steel gauntlet has. Because it was formed by mana, the source of its power naturally derives from mana he condensed from his Mana Core. That hypothesis brings him another question.

"Can the mana-glove absorb more mana from him to sustain its form longer?"

To answer this question, Exia immediately put his mana on his mana-glove, trying to supply it.

The result isn't disappointing; his mana-glove start glowing brighter, slowly retaining its original state. Witnessing this, a smile of gratification surfaced on Exia's face.

"By reason this is my first spell, I should name it on my own. Miracle Fists, shouldn't be a bad name. Yes, I'm gonna name you Miracle Fists."

That instant, Exia feels something clicked within his Mana Core.
