Chapter 223: The Cat's Curiosity (Edited)

As Fish and Harry talked, Fluffy led the two of them to a lush green space near a water fountain.

A dozen unicorns, standing or lying down, rested in the clearing.

They did not seem alarmed by the arrival of Fluffy and the other magical creatures.

The adult unicorns greeted Fish with a whinny, while some of the smaller unicorns hopped and whinnied around the huge Fluffy.

"Hi nya!"

(●φωφ●)?

Fish jumped off Fluffy, rubbing the heads of the young unicorns.

The unicorns, born during the summer vacations, were already turning from golden to silver, creating a color gradient on their bodies that looked very pretty and interesting.

The magical creatures that had followed Fluffy here also came out of the trees, and the Pegasus and other creatures that had been flying in the sky landed and gathered around Fish and Fluffy, causing the open space to become crowded.

Harry carefully climbed down from Fluffy, looking around in a trance at the group of magical creatures he knew and knew nothing about.

He had known for a long time that Fish had many friends in the Forbidden Forest, but knowing about it, and seeing countless magical creatures around Fish with his own eyes, was another matter.

Although Harry had seen the closeness of centaurs to Fish before, they were intelligent creatures that could communicate, and their upper bodies were no different from humans, with their own societies and cultures.

A single tribe of centaurs was far less impressive than a group of magical creatures of different races now living in harmony around Fish.

While Harry was still in awe, Fish had finished greeting his friends in the Forbidden Forest and had explained his intentions.

"It's this nya!"

(●φωφ●)?

Fish took out the black journal he had obtained from Uroboros the night before, held it up and showed it to the magical creatures around him.

To prove he was right, he tore it several times, grabbed only one page and swung his arm like a windmill.

And the journal came out unscathed, to his great credit.

However, Fluffy obviously scoffed at this affair, leaned straight over, bit into Fish's journal and then began to shake his head.

"Poof!"

After biting frantically, Fluffy spat out the smelly diary, which had shown no new damage, except for the fact that it was soaked.

"Woof!" ×3

This shocked Fluffy, who had been a dominant force in the Forbidden Forest for a long time, and trusted his teeth, but he couldn't bite into a journal that was already in tatters.

Fluffy bent down, picked up the journal again, and chewed frantically at it for a while, but still couldn't destroy it.

Spitting the journal back onto the ground, Fluffy brought all three noses close to the journal and sniffed vigorously, as if trying to figure out what the hell was going on.

Harry Potter, a young wizard who didn't know much about the wizarding world, didn't really know what it meant, only that the diary had been under some sort of protection spell.

After Fluffy's failure, the other magical creatures became interested and began attacking the diary one by one.

A salamander spewed flames at the journal, but other than drying Fluffy's saliva, there was no trace of charred black in the journal.

Then two Aethonan bit off a corner of the journal and pulled it back and forth, but could not tear it.

Then came the claws of the hippogriff, the stomps of a Bicorn, and the bite and poison of some worm-like creatures could not destroy the journal in the least.

Fish was not only not disappointed, but his eyes became brighter and brighter.

(●?ω?●)

Because the harder it was to destroy the diary, the better it would be, and even if he couldn't find the right way to use it, it would be a good option to use it to ward off Professor McGonagall's spell in a pinch.

It didn't matter if it broke, the series of tests had shown that the journal was resilient, and even if it was destroyed later, the remains of it could be used to deflect the spell....

Fish hadn't even considered whether the diary would still be indestructible after its destruction.

For a cat, satisfying his curiosity was the most important thing.

"Lochlin, you try it too nya! Use your horn."

After everyone tried it and still didn't do the slightest damage to the journal, Fish picked up the journal and ran to Lochlin.

The most destructive thing Fish had seen, other than the fire Quirrell had set, was the collision of Lochlin's horn, and that was why he had thought to take the journal to him.

The unicorn wasn't really interested in such things, but since Fish had asked him, Lochlin reluctantly agreed to try it.

"Winny!"

Lochlin first aimed the tip of his horn and casually scraped it twice across the cover of the journal, then discovering that it left no trace either, he asked Fish to hold it so he could hit it with his horn.

Immediately, Fish tied the diary to a tree, high enough for Lochlin to crash into it diary, and the other magical creatures in the Forbidden Forest moved to the sides to give the Lochlin room to run.

Lochlin shook his head, backed up a bit, and then lowered his head slightly, pointing his horn on his forehead at the journal tied to the tree.

(●?ω?●)

Fish looked at Lochlin expectantly, if the unicorn couldn't destroy the diary, he wasn't going to try again, he would save it for later to scare Professor McGonagall.

Harry, also intrigued by the diary, was also nervously looking at the diary tied to the tree.

For some reason, the more he looked at it, the more familiar it seemed to him, as if it had been his diary, and unconsciously he became concerned.

But it wasn't obvious, and it was something Fish had picked up on, so Harry didn't try to stop him.

"Whoosh!"

As Harry nervously stared at the journal in the tree, a silvery-white figure flashed past his eyes.

The speed of the adult unicorn's charge was so fast that even Fish couldn't react before Lochlin's horn was already on top of the journal.

Accompanied by a dazzling white light that still dazzles even during the day, the tree bound with the diary suddenly snapped and the lower half of the trunk fell to the ground along with its roots.

The top half of the tree, with the diary on top, flew backwards, hitting another tree before falling to the ground in unison.

"Winny...!"

Although he had no interest in destroying the journal himself, Lochlin was so pleased with himself that he raised his front hooves, kicked several times in the air and let out a long whinny.

Fish had already approached the journal that flew out and picked it up.

"Ohhhhhh!"

?(●?ω?●)?

Fish grabbed the still intact journal with both hands and held it high above his head.

"This diary is amazing nya!"

Though it seemed like Fish had heard a faint scream when Lochlin hit the journal....

But that didn't matter.

The important thing is that this journal can even block Lochlin's horns!

Thinking of Minerva's surprised face when he suddenly pulled out this diary to deflect a spell when he fought her again, Fish couldn't help but laugh.

"Harry, you have to keep Fish's secret, I'm going to scare Minerva with this diary!"

Walking gleefully with the diary, Fish emphasized to Harry.

After learning that the diary was okay, Harry, who was inexplicably relieved, naturally agreed.

After all the commotion, it was almost lunchtime. After Fish and Lochlin said their goodbyes, they took Harry to the centaur tribe again.

The two were welcomed with open arms, and Harry had no time to think about his creepy familiarity with the diary as he drank the centaur broth and kept his head down, controlling his eyes from wandering.

He had to prove to Fish that he wasn't the kind of person who liked to stare at the opposite sex!
