A boy in love

"Steve." The beautiful figure in the light green dress waved to him gently.

Steve's face turned completely red because of this soft voice. To be honest, which kid from Brooklyn doesn't like Hazel? She is so beautiful and gentle, just like every young man's dream.

She treats everyone kindly and helps everyone as much as she can. Everyone loves her wether it is old, young or children. She is the favorite of everyone, but she only smiles when she's with me. Even the always upright Steve Rogers can't help but blush for this honor.

"Hey, I mean, good morning, Hazel."

Steve secretly regretted at his stupidity that he can't even speak much gentler words. This happens every time. Whenever he see Hazel, he immediately forgets all the lines he has memorized prior to meeting her.

"Good morning, Steve." Her bright blond hair sparkled like gold in the spring sunshine of Brooklyn, and her faint fragrance filled Steve's nose with the gentle breeze.

Facing this dazzling beautiful smile everyday, Steve would always pretend to be calm with the tips of his ears red, and his long golden eyelashes would uneasily hide his blue eyes, as if afraid that his shyness would be revealed from his eyes.

"I brought it." Steve, who is always clumsy and tongue-tied with her, secretly sighed at his poor words inwardly and stupidly took out the sketchbook from his shoulder bag and handed it, without being able to say even a single word of praise and compliment.

Hazel took the sketchbook and opened it. Her slender fingers painted with pink nail polish flipped through the sketchbook, causing Steve to nervously crane his neck to observe her expressions, fearing that she might reveal a hint of displeasure.

"Your painting is so good." Hazel praised softly: "I like the scenery you painted. I really want to see it in person."

'I will take you to see it.' Steve wanted to say it, but the words that came out of the honest man's mouth were: "I drew it based on the description on the book."

Hazel burst out laughing. She closed the notebook, held it in her arms and looked at the short man infront of her who was at loss. Her voice was sweet and lively: "Oh Steve, how can you be so cute?"

.....

"Don't tell me you really said that. Are you a fool?" James Barnes, AkA the little Prince of Brooklyn looked at his friend with wide eyes and such expressions that as if Steve had something heinous. "I have to say Steve, you are the only one who can do such a thing of refusing Hazel. She was clearly telling you to ask her out, and yet, you gave such a reply."

Steve turned his head in embarrassment: "I wasn't thinking properly at the time. It just slipped out of my mouth. And she did say I was cute."

Bucky laughed: "She was telling you that you are a fool."

He continued to move forward, but seeing that the person beside him had stopped walking, he turned his head to call him, but was stunned. His friend Steve was standing with his eyelids lowered and a gloomy look on his face. The brightness from before had long since disappeared.

"Brother, why are you unhappy? Oh God, I was just joking. That sentence means that you are a good person." James Barnes stepped forward and put his generous and warm hands on Steve's thin shoulders and comforted.

It's really strange and worrying. His friend who is always bright and warm as the sun, Immediately turns gloomy and dull whenever it is a matter of Hazel's dislike. He doesn't know if its good or bad, but Steve Rogers is completely in love with Hazel Brown. He just hopes that they can be together, otherwise his bright friend might be really lost.

"I know." Steve sighed: "But it isn't possible between me and her. She is... so good, in every way. Everyone loves her. Why would she choose someone like me.... weak and poor."

Bucky elbowed his best friend who was prone to feeling inferior. His gray-green eyes were full of disapprovaI: "Hey, why are you belittling yourself again? Who in Brooklyn has a face as handsome as our Steve's? Who else has beautiful blond hair and blue eyes like you, and not to mention your rare warm-heartedness?"

"Yeah" Steve sighed and opened the sketchbook to look at painting Hazel had touched before, "I just hope she doesn't treat me like some fragile pet."
