Juggernaut

Jeistner slammed the communicator down on the table, his stern gaze sweeping over the huddled group of subordinates around him. With a measured tone, he commanded, "Get that Mutant out of here, and inform all teams to stick close to Sentinel. No unnecessary risks. Call off the raid, let the big guy go!"

"Why?" questioned one of the subordinates.

"Some fellow I wanted to eliminate showed up, don't ask questions, just follow orders! And clear the area, evacuate everyone within a block," Jestner declared with seriousness.

"Got it!"

Turning away, Jestner took a deep breath, his eyes focused. "Sniper's nest, obliterate it completely!"

"But... our talents just leveled up, and destroying that building would be troublesome," protested the subordinate.

"They're as good as dead, and that guy won't show mercy. I didn't expect him to react so quickly. Damn it, he's a terrorist, a highly destructive one. Any cost is worth it if it means eliminating him. Do it as instructed, I'll take responsibility if anything goes wrong!" Jestner declared fiercely.

Soon, several agent soldiers shouldered individual rocket launchers, aiming at the sniper's position in the high-rise.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Rockets shot out, and instantaneously, explosions echoed with a deafening roar.

Gun smoke enveloped the rooftops.

Jestner, squinting through the haze, couldn't shake off the feeling that this firepower might not be enough to deal with Max.

"Fuck!" he cursed involuntarily.

He disliked using such language, but the frustration left him no better option.

"After a three-month disappearance, that bastard choose the worst moment to resurface." Jestner cursed.

"Hey, your welcome ceremony is a bit too warm," Max's voice crackled through the communicator, earning a furrowed brow from Jeistner.

"What do you want? This time, there's no escape for you." Jestner shouted.

"Escape? If I recall correctly, I left quite gracefully last time," Max retorted with a smirk.

"There won't be a next time!" Jestner said through gritted teeth.

"You can try." Max tossed the communicator aside, turned, and confidently entered the battlefield.

The bazooka onslaught had done nothing to Max, and Jestner couldn't help but feel a growing sense of unease.

In the wake of the recent conflict, a temporary ceasefire had settled upon the battleground. The air hung heavy with tension as Mutant forces, narrowly escaping the vigilant eyes of the Sentry secret service, adjusted their tactics. Rather than pressing forward, they withdrew, stretching their frontlines as if signaling a reluctance to intervene further. However, the menacing gaze of their firepower remained fixed on a nearby location where John and a group of nearly twenty Mutants lurked, awaiting the appearance of Max.

"Is this Jestner's directive? Is it aimed at me?" Max pondered swiftly, sensing that the new strategy aimed to prevent his sudden appearance and diminish the perceived threat.

Yet, what if the old tactics, like those employed last time, were no longer effective? After all, the majority present were Mutants.

However... Max smirked, turning his gaze to the other side of the battlefield. Iceman struggled against a formidable opponent, appearing ragged.

"Juggernaut?"

Max was taken aback at the sight of the upgraded Juggernaut. In the movies, Juggernaut sported a simple uniform, but now, he seemed enhanced and aligned with the Mutants. Surprisingly, he was now aiding the Sentry Secret Service against his own kind.

"The Hound Project!"

Only this classified initiative could transform Juggernaut into a formidable asset for the secret service. It seemed Juggernaut had been captured post the Devil Island incident.

"They've really gone all out for this operation," Max mused, observing the array of agents, Sentinels, individual rocket launchers, and the imposing figure of Juggernaut deployed against the Mutants.

"Are you kidding me?" Iceman shouted, narrowly evading Juggernaut's assault. He turned and noticed someone beside him. "It's you!"

Although unfamiliar, Iceman recognized the figure from previous actions – Max.

"Hurry, take the others and go!" Iceman urgently directed Max, conjuring an ice wall for cover. However, the wall crumbled under Juggernaut's force.

Iceman and Max dodged, but Juggernaut, now angered, redirected his focus toward Max.

"Hey, big guy, let's dance!" Max taunted, picking up a discarded gun and firing at Juggernaut's head. The bullet bounced off harmlessly, leaving no mark on the helmet, but it triggered Juggernaut's wrath.

With a thunderous roar, Juggernaut charged towards Max, the ground shaking beneath his colossal steps.
