CH-35: Smooth Criminal

I stood across a mirror as I adjusted my tux, the elegant green and silver pattern ran over the rim of the inner suit, the black coat giving an elite look.

Letting out a breath I looked at the reflection, my long black hair had been slicked back, the gray black iris radiated a ray of excitement with a gleam, the tux was tailor made perfectly to suit my body and it did its job.

The biggest concern I had about playing Victor was his height and the man himself. I can't do anything about the latter but the long pants had closed the former pretty well. It's not unnoticeable but I guess it makes up to a certain extent.

"Perfect." I muttered, tilting my head up, giving myself a look of judgment.

I nodded as I buckled up the cufflinks, which were a large D, the royal insignia of Latveria and walked out of the room.

The opposite door of the suite opened and Felicia stepped out, clad in a midnight black, long one piece with silver lining on the sides, her platinum blonde hair had been let loose as it flew and swung with her every step, she had a dot earrings, matching colors with her jade green eyes and a high heel to complete the form.

"So how do I look?" She asked, twirling around to give me a view.

"Like Cinderella." I replied casually.

She didn't speak, only raised her brow waiting for me to throw a sarcastic remark and I didn't disappoint her.

"Before she met the fairy godmother." I added with a smirk.

"Obviously." She mumbled rolling her eyes.

I chuckled following her to the living room, where Fox was waiting for us already.

"Madame and monsieur." Fox gave a bow.

"You look cool." I complimented as I appraised his attire, he looked exactly like a British butler anyone would imagine.

"And you look almost presentable." He replied, putting pressure on the almost.

Felicia chuckled from the sofa and Fox followed her example with a smirk.

I said nothing and continued to prick my dress to perfection.

"And you my dear." Fox turned around to Felicia, his nasty smirk transforming into a fatherly smile. "You look absolutely gorgeous."

"Thanks Fox." She said, shooting a proud smile my way.

"I'm sure whoever takes you to the prom would be one lucky fella." The old man added.

"A prom?" Felicia asked, a strained scoff leaving her lips. "Please, school would be such a step down."

Fox shrugged and walked closer towards me, seeing I was struggling with my coat, he tapped my hands and began correcting the lining.

"You and suits have a problem, kiddo." Fox teased.

"I hate them." I replied.

He chuckled, wiping out the wrinkles from the suit, he patted my shoulders and gave me a nod.

"Hope you are ready for this." He said.

"I'm born ready." Felicia smirked.

"You waited forever to say that line didn't you?" I questioned with a smile.

"Oh yeah." Felicia grinned.

Our friendly batter came to an end as Fox pulled out our gadgets from a case, he passed me the hidden blade and Felicia got her Thief's cable, we both slid it under our clothes, the fabric hiding the weapons perfectly.

"Let's get the show on the road." Fox smiled, walking out of the room.

"Nice." I cracked my neck and knuckles as Fox held the suite's door open.

We walked out of the room and took the lift down, waiting for us downstairs was a limo, which Fox had rented for the evening. He gave the valet a round tip and got into the driver's cabin while I slid open the door sideways and guided Felicia inside.

I took a seat on the couch and the car set off, a silence set in inside the limo as it slowly moved through the streets of Las Vegas. I gazed at the lights of casinos and buildings but turned away from the window as they soon got overly bright for my taste.

It was just a short drive of 10 minutes and before I knew it, Caesar's palace crossed behind us and the car came to a halt.

Fox lowered the window and a guard stood outside next to the gate checking through the parcels.

"What is it?" I yelled, earning the attention of the guard.

"Just a short stop, your majesty." Fox replied in an almost rehearsed way.

"Be done with it." I waved my hands.

Fox passed the invite to the security and the limo was cleared, Fox drove us through the open gates and entered a line, several other vehicles were present before us. Rich expensive supercars like Lambos and Ferraris.

But finally we were at the entrance, Fox got out of the car and his silhouette slowly walked to the door. I let out a breath as I calmed myself.

The door slid open and Fox stepped aside, leaving space for us to climb down. I slowly stood up and stepped out and as I did, I noticed people were already gathered, all dressed in expensive suits, walking into the large tower like they were about to visit the mall.

But Fox did say it was an exclusive event but that didn't mean everyone that got an entry is an investor, Alchemax had separated the meet into two segments, one of them being a presentation and the other was the investors gathering, which happens at midnight.

The presentation was just a party thrown by Alchemax to honor the start of a new project and a show of power. It's like a shopping spree for the wealthy but the event at midnight was the real deal.

I turned back and extended my hand outward to Felicia and she took it and climbed down and as she set foot on the ground, she wrapped her hands around mine and snuggled closer.

"Shall we?" Fox asked, pointing at the entrance of the tower.

"Lead the way." I nodded.

As we entered the building, a waiter stepped up with a smile.

"Good evening, sir, I'm Gram, I would be your personal servant for the night." He introduced himself with a polite smile, he looked fairly young, maybe landed a job here straight out of college or dropped out in the middle.

"No need, young man." Fox stood before us with a plain face, his arm stretched out, blocking him from coming close any further.

"I'm more than enough to take care of his majesty and her highness."

Gram awkwardly turned around and looked at a lean man in a corner, who I assume is the manager, before he gave a nod and stepped back.

"Sure, please take the lift to the top floor." He nodded once again and directed us to the Hall.

Fox gave him a glance and walked forward without bothering to reply, our footsteps echoed through the halls as we walked through them, our eyes darted towards the various art pieces and faux paintings displayed on the walls.

Soon we stopped before the lift and the thing chimed open but before I could step inside, my eyes moved towards the pair already in it.

It was a very hot blonde woman in an absolutely stunning backless dress and her date, who was the total opposite of her, he had a receding hairline, a double chin and a swollen neck, his stomach was stretching to its limits and his suit was one breath away from popping up a button.

"Please step in, I don't mind." He mumbled loudly.

I shot him a death glare as I appraised his looks openely.

"But I do." I barked, he blinked, taken aback by the reply.

"Doom doesn't take room with peasants." I spat with venom in my tone.

He scowled as the words set in, he curled his fist and yelled. "Oi boy, I'm being respectful here."

"Hmm? Respectful?" I scoffed.

"Respectful would be allowing this fair lady-." I pointed to the blonde and winked. "To accompany a man worthy of her, not with the likes of you."

"Sire, don't waste your words with people like him." Fox stepped in. "I shall fetch you a private lift, please follow me."

I scoffed once again as I followed Fox into the service elevator.

I turned around and looked at the man, he was fuming in anger while sweating curses at me while the blonde was trying to calm him down.

The lift closed and slowly began to ascend above, my shoulders slumped down as soon as we were away from the crowd and I sighed.

"How was it?" I asked Fox. "A bit too much?"

"You were a perfect jerk." Felicia quipped in with a giggle.

"You are doing good." Fox stated as he began to re-adjust my hair. "But make sure to keep it at a limit, remember, your mission is to annoy people, not offend them, you offend them they are going to remember you, you annoy them they will try to forget you."

"Know the limit, got it."

"Your part is the most crucial till the main objective starts." Fox stated as the lift opened up, revealing a high class ballroom with people filling it by the second.

"Until then, have fun." Fox smirked, leading us in.

I looked around the room and it had several of Las Vegas's signatured jackpot lever machines and casino tables with men trying their luck.

An idea of how to annoy a whole bunch of people at once popped into my head and I grinned internally as my OG plan of running away resurfaced in my mind.

"I bet, I will." I smirked, walking into the party.
