Chapter 072 You’Re Such A Good Kid!

Note: There are some plot changes from the previous chapter. If things seem off, please refer to the previous chapter, where these changes are explained. Wanda and Quicksilver's relationship is based on the movie version, with Quicksilver being the older brother.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although Wanda longed for a peaceful life, she knew she had to deal with Stark first. Meeting Stark meant she had a chance for revenge.

So, without hesitation, Wanda agreed.

"Alright, I'll go with you!" Wanda said immediately.

Quicksilver, standing beside her, seemed more hesitant. "Can we really trust him?" he asked.

"He said he could take us to Stark. We should give him a chance," Wanda replied.

As soon as they finished speaking, a portal appeared in front of them. On the other side was the top floor of Stark Tower, where Tony Stark was busy working in his office.

Hearing the disturbance, Stark frowned and cautiously called out, "Luo Bai?"

A moment later, Luo Bai walked through the portal.

"Tony," Luo Bai greeted him.

Stark sighed in relief, a smile forming on his face. "Hey, my friend. It's great to see you."

Luo Bai smiled back. "How've you been?"

"I'm fine, but S.H.I.E.L.D.'s in chaos," Stark shrugged.

Luo Bai nodded, understanding the situation. After all, he had teleported Nick Fury away, so S.H.I.E.L.D. was likely in disarray.

Just then, Wanda and Quicksilver stepped through the portal as well.

"What was that? How did you do it? What's that yellow circle?" Wanda asked, curious about the magic.

Luo Bai smiled and answered, "It's a portal. A form of magic."

Wanda nodded, quietly whispering, "Okay."

It was only then that Stark noticed the two unfamiliar people who had entered through the portal with Luo Bai. The young woman seemed particularly close to Luo Bai.

Raising an eyebrow, Stark leaned in to whisper, "Did you hire another 'housekeeper'?"

"She's not a housekeeper," Luo Bai said, a bit more seriously.

Stark, realizing his misunderstanding, asked, "Does Polaris know about this?"

"..."

Luo Bai, puzzled, asked, "Why would she need to know?"

Stark smirked. "Having fun, are we?"

Luo Bai sighed. "Stark, you've got it all wrong. She's here to talk to you."

"Talk to me?" Stark asked, surprised.

He looked at Wanda, trying to remember if he knew her. After a moment, he said, "Okay, I'll admit, I've been careless before. I've met a lot of women—reporters, celebrities, you name it—but I'm sure I'd remember someone like her."

Before Stark could continue, Wanda cut in, her voice filled with anger: "You didn't need to know me to ruin my life. Or my family."

Stark froze, confused by her words.

"Ruin your life? Your family?" he asked.

Wanda's voice was cold as she continued, "Your missile destroyed my home."

Stark blinked, taken aback. "My missile? What are you talking about?"

Luo Bai quickly intervened. "Tony, do you remember why you stopped manufacturing weapons?"

Stark nodded, his expression serious. "Yeah, I remember."

"She's one of the victims of those weapons," Luo Bai explained.

Understanding dawned on Stark's face. He had initially thought Wanda might be someone from his past seeking personal revenge, but this was far more complex.

Wanda's anger intensified. "We were just ten years old. My family was sitting down for dinner when your bomb hit our house. I saw the word 'Stark' printed on it."

Stark, who had been trying to maintain a light-hearted attitude, grew quiet, his expression becoming solemn.

"I'm sorry," Stark said sincerely, guilt weighing heavy in his voice. "That was never my intention."

But Wanda wasn't ready to forgive. "Your bomb killed my parents and stole my childhood. Do you think an apology can fix that?"

Stark had no answer, only regret etched on his face.

Sensing Wanda's growing agitation, Luo Bai spoke up. "Wanda, I know you're angry, and you have every right to be. But while that missile was made by Stark Industries, Stark himself isn't the person you should blame."

Wanda's frown deepened, and she glared at Luo Bai. "His missile destroyed my home. Why shouldn't I hate him? You're just defending your friend!"

Luo Bai shook his head. "It's not about defending him. Let me give you an example. Say you want to protect the world, and I teach you magic. But if you turn to darkness and end up destroying the world, who's to blame? Me, for teaching you magic? Or you, for the choices you made?"

Wanda seemed to grasp what he was saying but was still conflicted. "But if Stark hadn't made that missile, my home wouldn't have been destroyed."

Luo Bai sighed. "True, but it was war that destroyed your home. Stark made the weapons, yes, but war was the real cause."

Wanda fell silent, clearly processing his words. After hating Stark for so long, it was hard for her to let go of that anger.

Seeing her hesitation, Luo Bai added, "I found you at Hydra's base. You joined Hydra because they promised to protect you, right?"

Wanda nodded. "They said they'd protect us and the world."

Luo Bai smiled softly. "Do you really believe Hydra wants to protect the world? Do you think they care about you?"

Wanda looked confused. "Don't they?"

Luo Bai didn't answer directly. "Give it time, and you'll see. No one here has any ill intentions towards you. Stay, and you'll find out the truth."

Wanda's face softened. Her kind heart made her willing to give him a chance.

"I can wait," she said. "You promised me a stable and peaceful life, right?"

Luo Bai nodded. "Yes. I planned to take you to Karma Taj to learn magic, but I understand you still have doubts. For now, you can stay at my villa. Polaris will take care of you."

With that, Luo Bai prepared to leave, but Quicksilver stepped forward, wanting to go with them.

Luo Bai stopped him. "Wanda may be your sister, but there's another lady at the villa, and I don't plan on taking you with us."

Quicksilver looked shocked. "What?"

Was Luo Bai seriously about to leave him behind?

Before he could protest, Wanda stood up for him. "He's my only family!" she said firmly.

Stark, noticing the tension, offered a solution. "Actually, the apartment next to you is mine too. If they don't mind, Quicksilver can stay there."

Luo Bai smiled. "Thank you, Tony. That solves a big problem for me."

Stark shook his head, guilt still clouding his features. "This is partly my responsibility. I should help them."

Wanda agreed to the arrangement, though she couldn't bring herself to thank Stark yet. She remained silent, still processing everything.

Luo Bai opened another portal, leading them to his villa.

In the villa, Polaris immediately stood up as Luo Bai entered. "Master Luo Bai, you're back!"

"Yes, Lorna," Luo Bai replied. "This is Wanda. She'll be living with you for a while."
