Chapter 63. Nick and Tony Head to Noah's Estate

On the day Noah and Thor fought the Destroyer in a small town, Noah used the Resolve Rune to destroy the enemy, leaving behind a massive crater. After that, he went to Asgard with Thor.

The people who remained at the site gathered around the crater, marveling at its size.

"Was this done by human hands?" Jane asked in astonishment. Their worldview had been radically altered today—they had seen so many incredible and scientifically unexplainable things.

Tony also descended from the sky and stood at the edge of the crater. The ground that had been there before was completely vaporized by the energy beam of the Resolve Rune, leaving only a deep, dark abyss with massive cracks radiating outward.

"How much energy would it take to cause this effect?" Tony wondered. He had always been confident in himself. During hearings held by the U.S. government, he had claimed that no one would be able to create technology like his Iron Man suit anytime soon.

That was his confidence. He believed that his abilities and talent surpassed everything else in this world. That's why he could make such claims.

However, then Ivan Vanko appeared, which was a slight blow to Tony's ego. But he knew that Vanko's father had once worked with his own father and had access to the arc reactor research. Using his own talent, Vanko managed to create a simplified version of the reactor. Tony acknowledged that Vanko had talent.

But then Noah appeared. Tony had no idea where this kid had come from. His battle suit seemed far more advanced, with superior power, speed, defense, and firepower.

He was shocked to learn that Noah was only a 16-year-old teenager. Tony doubted that Noah had built the suit himself. But when Noah returned from this mysterious Asgard, Tony decided he needed to meet him.

"Sir, you need to see this," Jarvis suddenly said.

"What is it?" On Tony's helmet screen, a marker appeared indicating a source of anomalous energy located at the bottom of the crater. It was too dark to make anything out.

With Jarvis' help, Tony adjusted his vision and was able to make out an object in the darkness. It was fragments of the Destroyer.

"The remains of that mysterious armor?" Tony was surprised.

After Noah had blasted the Destroyer underground, part of its metal had been melted by the intense energy, and the remaining pieces of its body were scattered across the bottom of the crater and embedded in the ground.

Then, under the amazed gazes of the onlookers, Tony descended into the dark abyss. Nick Fury, deep in thought, felt an ominous sense of foreboding. A few minutes later, Tony flew out of the crater.

"Folks, I need to go. I'll treat you to burgers sometime," Tony said, hastily leaving the scene, carrying a pile of debris. Nick Fury didn't manage to get a good look at what Tony had taken.

Only Jane's friend, Daisy, happily waved goodbye to Iron Man, while the others were left wondering what he had been doing down there.

At that moment, Hawkeye approached Nick Fury and said, "Director, I saw Stark take pieces of that robot Noah and Thor fought."

"Folks, I need to go. We'll grab some burgers sometime," Tony said, hurriedly leaving the scene with a pile of debris in his hands. Nick Fury didn't manage to see exactly what Tony had taken.

Only Jane's friend, Daisy, cheerfully waved goodbye to Iron Man. The others were left wondering what he had been doing down there.

At that moment, Hawkeye approached Nick Fury and said, "Director, I saw Stark take fragments of that robot Noah and Thor were fighting."

Hawkeye had sharp vision and had noticed what Tony took. However, he didn't know that the Destroyer was not just a robot but a powerful weapon.

"Damn! That guy!" Nick cursed after hearing Hawkeye's words. He realized Tony had beaten him to it and taken the valuable fragments.

"Coulson, quickly assemble a team and search this place. Find everything that's left of the enemy," Nick ordered his assistant. He wasn't sure how much was still in the crater or if Stark had taken everything.

"But, Director, we haven't checked the site for dangerous energies or radiation yet," Coulson reminded him.

"Then get specialists and conduct the checks immediately!" Nick insisted.

After the procedures were completed, Jane and her team headed toward the Rainbow Bridge's marker, and Nick Fury successfully sent the remaining fragments of the Destroyer to a secure location. Most of the fragments had been destroyed by Noah, but Fury didn't know that. He could only guess how much Stark had taken.

He didn't send the fragments to S.H.I.E.L.D.'s headquarters, as, based on Noah's warning, he was on alert and suspected there might be spies within the agency. Instead, he entrusted the fragments to his personal team of researchers, which he had handpicked from the best minds around the world and from his own agents.

Initially, he had suspected there might be spies among his team as well, but then he dismissed the idea, knowing that these people were working under close supervision. If there were spies in his team, then there would be even more in S.H.I.E.L.D. With that thought, Fury even smirked.

Upon returning to camp, Nick Fury waited for a long time, but Noah did not appear. At one point, they detected a reaction from the Rainbow Bridge and thought it was Noah returning, but it was Thor, who had come to take Jane and her team.

Fury wasn't sure what to think. He hoped Noah would return and be able to explain what was happening in Asgard. However, he waited the entire day.

"We're heading back to New York," Fury finally said, deciding that when Noah returned, he would find him himself. The time Noah had spent in Asgard led Fury to think that something might have happened there.

However, when Coulson and the others reported that Thor had taken Jane and her team, Fury figured that if Thor had managed to defeat Loki, then Noah should be safe too.

In his office at S.H.I.E.L.D. headquarters in New York, Fury dealt with matters related to the recent events in the town and responded to inquiries from his superiors. Finally, he had some time to relax.

"Coulson, do we have any news about Noah's residence? Can we figure out his current location?" Nick asked, realizing that if Noah was alright, he should have returned by now.

"Director, satellite images didn't provide the needed information," Coulson replied with regret.

"Alright, stop using the satellites to monitor that area," Nick ordered, recalling Lissandra and realizing their actions could have been detected. Satellite images could have been altered.

"However, our agents reported that Jane Foster and her team have returned. Noah may have returned as well," Coulson added, noting that agents had relayed information about Jane's return.

"Really? Then I'll go and check for myself if Noah has returned," Fury said, preparing to confirm it personally.

At that moment, his phone rang. Fury looked at the screen and saw it was Tony calling.

"Nick, can you give me the address of that young genius? I've got a couple of questions for him," Tony asked directly as soon as Fury picked up the call.

"You want to meet Noah? Then come over to me. I'm just about to head to him."
