Chapter 2

"Leave the cube on the ground and turn around with your arms were I can see them" said a voice behind her, which woke her up. The stone was calling to her and it was hard to resist it's pull. If not for Natasha's voice she may have broken the cube to get the stone out.

"I said place the stone on the ground-" Natasha said again but stopped when the girl holding the stone turned around. Natasha started to analyze the Asian girl but made the mistake of looking into her eyes. She had never seen eyes like those before. Their red glow, those hypnotizing spinning black 'commas' in them. By the time she got out of the weak illusion, she saw the girl with Dr Selvig on her shoulder and the tesseract in her hand on the edge of the building. She quickly pointed her gun at the girl, but hesitated to shoot as she did not want to have the blood of another young girl on her hands.

"Stop right there, or I'll shoot" she said with her gun aimed at her chest but the girl's body suddenly started to tear up and exploded into a bunch of crows which quickly flew away in different directions, leaving a speechless Natasha who stood there without knowing what do for a few minutes.

"Natasha, nice work with the portal above my billion dollar tower" said Stark through Natasha's ear piece as the wormhole above New York had been finally closed up.

"It wasn't me who closed the wormhole and the one who did, took the tesseract and disappeared" replied Natasha as she walked to the spot Maria had disappeared from while looking around and locating Loki's scepter.

"Oh that's bad" said Clint who had been listening in on the conversation while an explosion was ringing from his side, "Fury is not going to like that" he continued after the explosion.

"Well since the cube is gone, why don't you come help us with the strugglers down here" said Captain America, who had also been listening. With no choice, she retrieved the scepter and went to help the other Avengers.

-The following day, in the Helicarrier-

"So you mean to tell me that the tesseract was stolen by a teenage girl right under your nose" asked a furious Nick Fury. A freaking god had come back from falling into a black hole with an alien army to steal the tesseract and failed but what finally got to it was a teenage girl. What's more worrying is that she took it in the presence of one of S.H.I.E.L.D's best agent and used unknown powers.

"Yes, sir" replied an embarrassed Black Widow.

"So have you identified her yet" continued the furious Fury as her looked at some agents on computers.

"No, sir from the description we got she was a regular Asian girl and there are millions who fit her description." replied one agent nervously.

"What about her red eyes? I'm pretty sure not all Asian girls have those" asked Fury as he was getting more angry.

"No sir, no one in the global database has those kind of eyes" replied another agent who was behind a screen.

"Jesus Christ, why am I paying you people if you can't even do your fucking job!!" shouted Fury as he got up.

"Relax director Fury" said a familiar voice from the door. When Nick looked at the source, he saw Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Thor, Steve Rogers and Clint Barton.

"Everyone except Romanoff out" said Fury as he calmed down and all excluded agents quickly ran out of the room.

"So Stark, do you have a plan to retrieve the cube and Dr Selvig from the hands of this teenage girl" asked Fury who had forcefully compressed his anger.

"Don't worry, if this girl took the cube and Selvig it means she plans to use it. So we wait until she uses it and we bust in and take it from her" casually said Tony as he walked around the room.

"He's right, if that cube is activated it releases a tremendous amount of energy and radiation, so all we have to do is be on the alert and be ready to go were ever we get such readings." said Banner as he agreed with Tony's plan.

"Maybe she is my brother's accomplice, so why don't we ask him" said Thor loudly.

"Alright, I'll inform my agents to be on the red for such readings and Thor let's go question your brother." said Fury as he walked out of the room and the Avengers followed after him.

-A few days later in San Francisco-

Maria driving a black van arrived at her new home, a run down apartment she had bought with her stolen money and a lot of Genjutsu. A masked Selvig in a genjutsu walked out of the van with Maria and entered the building where Maria led him to the basement.

"This is where you will live until you finish what I want" said Maria as she walked around the well furnished basement.

"What do you want me to build, miss" asked the mind controlled Selvig.

"I want you to build something that can locate other stones using this" replied Maria as she pointed at the tesseract in her hand.

"I don't think I understand, miss" respectfully said Selvig in confusion.

"Ohh,I forgot you didn't know, well sit down for a history lesson" Maria said as she sat in a chair and narrated the origin of the universe and the infinity stones.

"So in the tesseract is the space stone, which is why you were able to use it to open a worm-hole above New York" continued Maria as she pointed at the tesseract in her hand. The history lesson left Dr Selvig speechless for a few seconds.

"I didn't know what that cube was a few minutes ago, how am I supposed to use it to find others like it" asked a now nervous Selvig.

"Don't worry, I only need your experience with the stone, for the machine I'll bring someone else to help you" Said Maria as she threw a credit card at him, "In here is a few thousand dollars, use it to buy your needs but make sure to always be masked when you go out." she continued.

"Who could possibly be able to build something like that?" asked the now curious Selvig.

"Don't worry about that just continue on your research, I'll be visiting Chicago to get this person" Maria said as she walked out of the basement.

'After I'm done with getting Phastos to build me the machine, I'll start recruiting powerful people to start a war against this universe' thought Maria as she got into her van and drove off to the airport.

-Chicago-

It was a chilly cloudless night and the moon was shining brightly upon neighborhood X. The street lights further lit up the the empty roads of the neighborhood. Phastos had been having a good day and he had just had the perfect dinner made by his boyfriend, Jake. He walked out of his house with a plastic bag filled with trash that he threw into the trash can and happily walked into his house. Unfortunately for him, a crow with red eyes was looking at him as he walked back into his house. Suddenly, a bunch of crows started flying at Phastos' house and they started combining until they formed Maria's figure. Knowing that the house was rigged with high technological traps and shields, she did not even think of trying to budge in so she just walked up to the door and knocked.

"Coming" said a voice accompanied by footsteps and the door opening. The person who opened the door was not Phastos.

"Who are you?" asked the white man who had opened the door.

"I'm Maria and I'm looking for Phastos" replied Maria politely.

"I'm sorry but there is no one called Phastos here" replied the man.

"Jack, is there someone at the door" Asked another male voice from inside the house.

"Yeah, she says she's looking for a person called Phastos" replied the man who has now been identified as Jack.

"Jack get away from the door, I'm coming" said the other male voice that was probably belonging to Phastos seriously. Even before the second ended Phastos appeared and moved in-between Jack and Maria.

"Who are you and how do you know that name?" questioned Phastos with a murderous expression.

"How about we talk alone." calmly said Maria as she walked to the lawn a few meters away from the door. After signalling Jack to go into the house, Phastos cautiously followed Maria and stood at least a meter away from her.

"You are a hard Eternal to find, I spent a whole week in Chicago looking for you" said Maria calmly as she was controlling the conversation.

"Who are you and how do you know about the Eternals" questioned Phastos as his bracelets started started glowing gold breaking the control Maria wanted to establish.

"So straight to business, huh" said Maria, as she put hands into her pocket which made Phastos' bracelets glow brighter.

"Well, I'm Maria and I want you to make something for me" she said casually as she closed her eyes with her hands in her pockets.

"How do you know about the Eternals?" asked Phastos as his bracelet flew off his hand and transformed into a blade which was floating above his shoulder ready to fire at any second. Maria open her eyes to reveal her mangekyou sharingan and she started glowing red.

"I answered two of your questions, Its your turn to give me an answer" she replied as the pin wheels in her eyes started spinning intimidatingly. This took Phastos off guard who could now feel that she suddenly turned dangerous.

"No I don't help humanity with my inventions anymore" he answered as another bracelet turned into another floating blade.

"A shame." she said smiling as a red ribcage formed around her, "the hard way it is"

Hearing her last comment, Phastos fired his blades at her which bounced of her susanoo ribcage. Phastos who was again taken by surprise jumped back a few metres back. Skeletal arms and a neck started forming on the ribcage. Seeing this Phastos turned the rest of his bracelets into a large shield and a blaster which he fired at the forming red energy skeleton.

*BOOM* *BOOM*

Two blasts from Phastos' blaster caused two glass breaking explosions on the susanoo, but a giant red hand made of bones blew away the smoke revealing an unscathed giant red skeleton formed from the ribcage up. Phastos froze up upon seeing this and he started feeling a little fear slipping in.

"Wow so is that what the Eternals are capable of" mocked Maria with a crazed smile on her face as every cell in her body was on fire and she was under unimaginable pain, "I expected better" she continued as her Susanoo swung its giant hand at him. He quickly placed his shield in front of the blow.

*BOOM*

The susanoo again used it's giant hands to clear the smoke screen revealing a injured Phastos who was clutching one hand which was bleeding profusely while the shield was nowhere to be seen. Jack who saw the now injured Phastos came out the house running.

"If I kill your boyfriend will you then help me create what I want" asked Maria as she eyed Jack who was now standing in front of Maria and his injured boyfriend doing a T-pose to hopefully protect his boyfriend. Hearing Maria's words Phastos stood up and walked in front of Jack and glared straight into Maria's eyes.

"I won't let you harm him in any way" he responded with hate filling his reddened eyes. Maria smiled when he did this.

*Click* *Click*

It was only then she noticed that almost everyone in the neighborhood was out of their house with the modern worlds greatest weapon pointed at her, the smartphone taking videos and pictures.

"Too bad, its seems we're out of time" said a smiling Maria who gave Phastos a split second to process her words before she launched her attack, "TSUKUYOMI".

To the outside world, Phastos fell to the ground knocked out the next second after her word. The susanoo around Maria flickered for a second before disappearing as Maria clutched her left eye in pain. Hearing the police sirens, she quickly disappeared and appeared before Jack and knocked him out as well by chopping his neck. Once he was out of the way she walked to the unconscious Eternal and threw him on her shoulder before taking a look at the arriving police and exploded into a bunch of crow which flew away in different directions.
