It had been nearly two decades since I woke up in this world and I am still unsure of how I ended up in this world. Although it's not like I can really complain since I was reborn as one of the strongest heroes in the DC universe, so that's a plus.
The downside though, was waking up as a baby. That was a bit disturbing to be honest. To be only able to eat and shit for the first year or 2 of my life.
It took me years to realize something was wrong. The day I heard the name Stark Industries I knew I was in a Tom fuckery version of DC or Marvel. At that point all I could do was pray to whatever being brought me here that it wasn't an overly horror filled amalgamation of the two.
I mostly just lived Clark Kent's life for the most part. Though I did atleast have a leg up being an adult in the body of a child. Also the learning ability of a Kryptonian is fairly off the charts. I really never understood why the original Clark never really used his mind and only really used his fists, yeah he was obviously smart but he never really did anything sciency related, to my knowledge anyways.
I really don't know why the original Clark or Kal-El if you prefer, took so long to master his power and learn to fly and so such. Part of it had to be mentality, he was raised to be human and thought with human limitations in mind. That would be my best guess when I combine what little I remember from the tv show smallville and the movie MoS. He simply either didn't know or didn't believe he could do such superhuman feats.
I on the other hand have no such issues, I knew what this body and mind could and should, for the majority anyways, be able to do. At least in theory anyways. I mean who can really KNOW how until you actually do it. But knowing it was possible made it easier to find the desired results.
It just took a stupid amount of practice and almost 20 years to simply let my body mature. I didn't want to accidentally screw myself or something by overusing my bodies energy or something plus I was simply not in a hurry.. Though I did do a lot of sunbathing in New Mexico since it was the closest state with the most sunshine.
What I did do a lot of though was academics. I may not have the imagination of Tony Stark but things like coding, engineering and electronics came fairly easy to me so I didn't slack off like Clark did to simply hide myself from the world. Although I may not go the Tony Stark route of outing myself to the world, I also wouldn't simply hide myself away as I also wanted to look after my mother and the farm so I knew I would need an extremely good scholarship to help pay for such things.
To make money early on I took on simple freelance coding jobs, it paid fairly well especially the types of jobs I took. I also took time to create a few applications for early phones such as simple games. Mostly this was prelude to make my own cellphone line of electronics in the future and to just get my name out there. I was also planning to start a social media website since I know how well such things will be received in the future, atleast in my old world anyways.
My only real concern was being recruited by agencies such as shield or worse, hydra.
But I did take a small play out of Clark's book, I wore glasses when in civilian mode as well as changed my hair style a bit. Though I couldn't really pull off the mild mannered thing the original Clark could so only time would tell if it was useful.
I planned to be stupidly rich by the time I turned 21 or that was the hope. This was simply the path of least resistance though I suppose I could do the whole space mining or creating diamonds trope but that would be harder to explain than going the technological route.
I did the freelance coding work and the app creation mostly through high school to save up money to fun my future endeavors. I also worked on my social media website, I may or may not have designed it along the lines of Facebook as I didn't really like MySpace and the others aren't really doable at the moment due to global public technology level not yet jiving with the ones I remember. I think I will call it FriendsSpace.
Something to note, during my high school years, the meteor infected while minor, was a thing. I also noticed that the main characters seemed to look fairly close to their TV show counterparts.
I was friends with most of the same people as the original Clark would have been except without the silly angst over Lana Lang, though admittedly she was stupidly hot and we did date mostly through high school and there was no Lex Luther so that also cut out most of the excitement from the Smallville show I guess, either that or things were simply set up differently?
This is a fucked up version of DC and marvel after all so I wasn't really making any elaborate plans to 'prepare' for canon other than possible big events such as the finger flick of doom from Thanos and possible invasion of New York or fucking Galactus from marvel and Dark Seid and all things stupid from DC. Truly too much to prepare for aside the main events.
It's currently 2003, I had graduated from high school about 2 years ago and have been in MIT since then. Not really surprising, Lana went her own way for the most part, being more interested in design and fashion, we kept in touch but aren't together anymore though we still get together on holidays if we can.
Chloe and I were still friends and she was still a trouble magnet all through high school and occasionally in New York where I would periodically have to save her and her cousin Lois's ass from time to time. They were basically the only people I kept in contact with anyways.
Also unlike the original Clark, I didn't overly angst over my secret identity. If I trusted someone I wasn't overly afraid to let them know at least something, Lana and Chloe both knew I had powers though I didn't tell them I was an alien.
