PART 26

Franklin entered the living room, still feeling excited. "Boss, today's a day to celebrate. I'm going out to buy some wine," he announced.

"Absolutely, it's definitely worth celebrating," Jason replied with a smile and a wave.

He understood Franklin's mood well, remembering how he felt the night he robbed a convenience store and walked away with over $10,000. He was so exhilarated that he couldn't sleep all night.

Once Franklin left, Jason changed his position and reclined on the couch. He turned on the light-up system screen and watched his reputation value gradually increase.

[Ding! When the reputation value reaches 300 points, you will get a chance to recruit a party. ]

Jason's pupils contracted as he clicked the "recruit" button on his computer, and his excitement grew instantly.

"It's him!"

After a few moments, Jason was thrilled.

Amazing!

Even police have his undercover agent now.

Click!

Suddenly, the sound of a key turning in the lock came from outside the door.

Only Franklin and Dennis have keys to the apartment.

It must be Dennis returning from shopping.

Jason didn't pay much attention and continued to focus on browsing the computer.

Suddenly, he broke out in a sweat.

No!

Why is that man moving so quietly?

Oh no!

It's the Assassin!

Jason sprang into action, his muscles tensing as he reached for his Glock pistol tucked in his lower back with his right hand. With lightning-fast reflexes, he bent his calf back, kicking his heel against the pistol sleeve.

Click!

The bullets loaded just in time as the Assassin stepped into the room, his dark linen tunic rustling. Jason's heart pounded as he assessed his opponent, taking in the plain face and sharp eyes like a falcon locked onto its prey. He recognized this man as a master Assassin, and his alarm bells rang loud.

With a steady hand, Jason raised his arm to take a shot, but the killer moved quickly, his drooping right hand slamming down hard. In an instant, a small flying knife had pierced Jason's arm, and the pain was unbearable. His hand reflexively opened, and the pistol fell to the ground.

Gritting his teeth, Jason tried to pick up the gun with his left hand, but another flying knife shot to the ground, just barely blocking his fingers. He knew that if he was even a moment slower, he'd have lost a finger. This was a terrible sword technique, and Jason felt a cold chill run down his spine.

The Assassin came closer, kicking the pistol with his cloth shoes. "Jason Walter?" he asked in a distorted tone.

Jason pulled out his arm knife, standing his ground. "Yes," he replied firmly.

"I have long admired the famous name," the Assassin said, complimenting him.

Jason snorted coldly. "Ask your unanswered question: who is your employer?"

The killer moved his hands and feet, putting on a boxing routine. "I'll tell you if you beat me," he challenged.

Jason was surprised, but also curious. He had to admit, he wanted to see what this guy was made of.

"hat!" he roared, rushing forward.

The Assassin looked contemptuous, easily dodging Jason's attack and delivering a powerful punch to his chest. The force of the blow sent Jason flying backwards, crashing into the monitor with a sickening thud. He felt a sharp pain in his chest and back, his breath ragged and full of blood.

This punch must have hit an acupoint, as Jason's limbs suddenly felt weak. He couldn't believe it - he had been in the underworld for over a decade, and this was the first time he had been beaten with a single move.

He cursed under his breath, trying to recover as the Assassin looked on with disdain. "In the underground world, your name is so eloquent, I have long wanted to discuss it with you. I didn't expect you to be so vulnerable. You disappoint me," the killer said.

Jason quickly smiled, trying to buy himself some time. He quietly opened the system light curtain, grateful that he had 10 attribute points left. Without them, he would surely have been done for.

[Strength 38→43]

[Agility 40→40]

[Endurance 35→40]

[Intelligence 40→40]

[Remaining attribute points: 0]

"Assassin! Just let me go. I can double the amount of money your employer pays," he pleaded.

Jason, with his added attribute points to strength and endurance, instantly healed most of his injuries. He slowly crawled towards the killer, exuding an intimidating aura.

The killer raised his foot and attempted to step on Jason's shoulder, but Jason swiftly retaliated. "I'm sorry, you can't afford what she can give me in your life," Jason growled as he grabbed the killer's foot and threw him to the ground.

The killer tried to fight back, but Jason was too strong. Jason broke the killer's fingers with one swift motion, causing the killer to scream in agony.

Jason endured the pain and grabbed the killer's ankles, throwing him in circles. His 40 points of stamina were no joke. With each spin, Jason's strength accumulated until he finally slammed the killer's head against the concrete wall.

The killer's head exploded like a watermelon, and blood and brain matter splattered everywhere. Jason collapsed to the ground, covered in blood and gasping for breath.

As the old-fashioned cell phone rang, Jason crawled over to the killer's pocket and answered the call. "Are things done?" an old and familiar voice asked.

Jason recognized the voice instantly and exploded in anger. "Gao! You old bastard!" he yelled.

Madam Gao was surprised. "Jason, you are not dead!"

Jason's anger grew. "Yes, I'm not dead, but the Assassin you sent didn't even have his head."

Gao! I have no grudge with you, why did you send someone to kill me?"

Mrs. Gao was silent for a moment before explaining her motives. "For the peace and stability of the New York market. You are a radical and dangerous person. If you keep making trouble like this, my business will be ruined by you sooner or later."

Jason laughed sarcastically. "Okay, okay, great! Wait, old witch, I will come to you soon, I want you to see with your own eyes that you have been running a business for many years and I will burnt it to the ground!"

Mrs. Gao laughed, unfazed by Jason's threats. "Children, no one dares to talk to me like this in New York. I'm waiting for you, I hope you dare to come."

Jason's adrenaline was still pumping as he ended the call. "Let's see about that,"
