First Test

The next day Magnus wake up early. After going downstairs he saw Shen and everyone is waiting for him.

"Neil! Come quickly. We've been waiting for you." Shen immediately noticed Magnus and shouted.

"You guys are really excited this morning." Magnus spoke as he pulled a chair and set down.

"Of course we are today is the first test of Deep Forest Sect. Today is going to mark the beginning of our career." Magnus didn't say anything back instead he ordered his food and started eating.

" I think you guys probably know but let me remind you again. The first test will be a battle royal type. As long as the time ended surviving is our main priority." A boy close to Shen spoke. His name is Ale. Like Shen and many other Ale is also someone who lost his family and trying his luck in Deep Forest Sect.

"That guy named Thomas will be there and there will be many other people too. If everything goes well we will stay low and survive the onslaught."

"Onslaught?" Magnus stopped eating and looked at everyone. "Don't tell me you don't know about this." Shen quickly asked.

Magnus wiped his mouth with a handkerchief and politely spoke, " I thought people will beat each other but maybe I misunderstood. Care to explain please?"

"Of course." Ale enthusiastically started explaining. "As it's a Battle royal the main goal is to defeat but apparently past couple of years the contestants started to kill each other. Maybe it's something started by an accident but soon it got popularized by everyone and killing started a thing. Every test wipe out many people's life and it's to tragic." Ale gave out a sigh as he remembered some of his senior died past test.

"Didn't the sect do something about it?" Magnus asked. "Sect? I don't think they ever spoke about this directly they didn't even mentioned about it anywhere. It's public for the Minthra's citizens and some well informed villages but it's unknown to many people."

Magnus carefull listend everything. The whole matter about Onslaught is a little suspicious to him. But he kind of understood why Deep Forest is not publicly spoken about it. Because it will be a terrible incident if Sun Sect get wind of it. Maybe some fool from sun sect is making this children killing each other.

Many thoughts started to flow inside his head and very quickly he sort of analyzed the situation.

"So what's your plan aside from surviving cause you never know whne something bad happens." Magnus asked Ale and everyone.

"Well if an of case we met someone ruthless let's just say we need to run. We will separate from each other and run in all directions that way they can't catch us."

'Amateurs'...

Magnus looked at their planning and felt a premonition that something bad will happen to these idiots. So to ensure their safety he decided put a little touch. "How about this, when you face someone who have a lot of friends we will run but with a small group of three. That way there's a possibility that we might overpowered the one that will chase after us." Magnus suggested casually.

"Hey that's brilliant. Why didn't I think of it?" Ale quickly got excited as he realised the potential.

Soon everyone started planning.

At 10 o'clock Magnus and everyone else approached the city square. After crossing the square they finally reached a large stone gate. The gate is tightly shut and in front of the gate there are more than 50000 people from age 12 to age 15 are standing.

The crowd is so big that it's almost impossible to look ahead of what was happening. Magnus stood still among the crowd and very carefully realised his scan.

In an instant he realised almost 1000 people who are at level 30 plus.

"Why did this year is so jam packed?" Shen apoke as he tried ti squeez for a little more space. "I don't know but this year is probably going to be much harder." Ale replied as he looked af the crowd ahead.

Magnus on the other hand finished scanning and started ti scan the gate. The moment his observation Qi reached the gate wall immediately it bounced back.

Magnus was a little shocked but quickly returned to his usual self. "So the protection array is no joke I guess." He casually retrieved his Qi before quietly waiting like others.

Instead he decided to observe the other candidates. There are lots of genius in the Darling Forest. Since the area is big it's known with moderate spiritual strength average geniuses are also moderately powerful.

'It looks like Sun Sects recruitment is a serious matter.' No matter how great the Darling Forest is, in the end of the day it's a forest region. There are not many settlement out there and because of Beast stamped the settlement became even more thin. So it's fairly impossible that this region alone is providing so many young talent.

The most possible case is that outside of Darling people are entering here like he himself. And that is possible since Deep Forest Sects information is possibly leaked by someone. Sun sect is recruiting but they're main clans recruitment is very hard. But going through Deep Forest root would be a lot easier for some people.

The more Magnus see the more imbalance started to surface.

Among the geniuses Magnus focuses his gaze at a tall elegant man who is wearing a white robe. He has long hair and sharp eyebrows. The hair is tied in a bun in his head. All in all his entire aura is emanating a proud vibe.

There are some people close to him like as if they're guarding him from harm. And among them there is a certain green haired young man with a pompus attitude.

'Hmm, this must be Thomas.' Magnus observe Thomas properly and soon as if he let go of some small flickers of his aura to test something.

In an instant Thomas looked back towards Magnus. "Sure enough he is sharp." Thomas sae Magnus and quickly talked with his lackeys.

After a few minutes later Thomas and his man started approaching towards Magnus. They quickly passed by everyone with the help of his lackeys.

Public already started to notice spice in the air so they quickly made a large circle that surrounded Magnus and Thomas and his goons to see the drama that is about to happen.

"Hi, I am Thomas." Thomas extended his hand towards Magnus. It's a normal sign of greeting but Magnus is not an idiot. He can clearly see that his hand is imbued with Qi.

But Magnus is not afraid of mare Qi attack from Thomas. Instead he try to assess things.

For him the best possible scenario is to use Thomas for his gain. And for that he need Thomas to be unprepared. Magnus shock the hand and immediately Thomas's Qi entered his body. The Qi didn't immediately attacked instead it started ti make it's way towards Magnus's core. But the moment it reached the Black hole the Qi immediately ripped into nothings before disappearing.

Even the Qi of a level 60 character is desolved into noting, so what's Thomas's Qi can do?

'S that's how you want to play. Then let me amuse myself a little.' Magnus also left a spark of Qi in Thomas's body. But unlike Thomas his Qi won't be discovered by that easily.

"I heard from Cris that you have a very foul mouth." Thomas spoke with a tone of mockery and disdain.

"You raised a very good son." The moment that sentence came out of his mouth Thomas raised his eyebrows and close to him the green haired boy became enraged.

"What did I say anything wrong? Aren't you the one introduced yourself as Thomas's son." Magnus looked at Cris and started to poke him more.

"You MF. I will kill you." The entire crowd started laughing as Cris started to threaten Magnus.

"Oh come on. Don't be a bad boy. Your esteemed father is looking at you." Magnus looked towards Thomas as he spoke the final words. The crowd full of people started laughing even more hesterically.

Both the Thomas and his goons are at a loss of what to do. And before they could even do anything a huge sound erupted from the stone gate.

"Huuummmmmm" with a loud sound the stone gate is opened slowly. Behind the gate there's only fog so nothing can be clearly seen. Slowly a sound started to come out from the fog.

"Tik tok tik tok"

The crowd became silent quickly as if they're forced to shut up. Magnus also felt an invisible power that is grabbing his mouth. But he didn't let it bother him to much.

Very slowly an elderly figure with a white beard, while hair walked out from the fog.

"Welcome To Deep Forest Sect. Your first test has begun."
