It's been 6 days since I arrived at River's house, I was surprised out of my mind when I found out that she lived on her own and not with her parents.

Rivera is a little bit older than I am with a year, I'm 22 while she's 23. We basically grew up together until she moved out of town 5 years ago, and she's been living on her own for 3 years now.

She has her life in check, she graduated college and got a job in the rival company of Woods Enterprises Ltd. Still also one of the best companies in New York. She also has a boyfriend, and yes. They do the do.

And then here's me, a 22 years old virgin who hasn't even had her first kiss yet. I never had a boyfriend, and seeing the life I escaped from, I wouldn't want to date me if I were a boy.

I told River all about the interview and she was equally shocked but asked me to take it as God giving me a second chance at life. And that's exactly what I did.

She offered to get my hair styled, and also style me for the interview and of course I accepted. The interview was now tomorrow, and I was a nervous wreck. Sitting in front of top business men and women, scrutinizing me with their eyes and questions made me almost chicken out.

But I was determined. And so I went for it.

I woke up the next morning with a very bad feeling, a pit in my stomach that, no matter what I tried, would not go away.

The interview was scheduled for 8am and it's currently 7:20am. I woke up pretty early, and just decided to get ready for the interview.

Of course River did my make up and hair, and it took everything in me not to obsess over my make up. The anxiety wouldn't let me not worry about looking too caked up.

But I brushed off the feeling away because hey, I looked good.

I gave myself one last look and nodded positively. With River already screaming down the house, I hurried to the front door and made sure I locked the door after I got out.

Then we embarked on our journey. She dropped me off at a bus-stop not faraway from the building, and I couldn't be more grateful for her kindness.

Once I made it down to the building, I made my way inside, trying to be all confident and ready for whatever this interview was going to throw at me but it all faltered when I got inside.

The double glass doors opened, revealing a large lobby with white ceiling and white marble floors.

The walls were made of a liberal dark chocolate-colored wood and off to the right sat a mini lounge with a few grey colored armchairs all centered around a white marble coffee table.

On the far end of the lobby stood a glass grey colored marble counter with a sprightly looking young blonde on the side, who as I walked closer, had a name tag that read Missy.

Who the hell names their daughter Missy?

Well Missy had a scowl on her face and as I stood in front of her, her scowl grew more intense.

"Hi, welcome to Woods Enterprises Ltd. How may I assist you?" She asked with a fake smile plastered on her baked face.

"Um hi, I'm here for the interview." I said shyly, feeling very nervous.

"Okay, your name please." She asked, her fingers expertly typing away on her keyboard.

"Rosaline Barker." I bit my bottom lip and my hands were trembling. This is really happening.

I've never worked any kind of job before but with the way I grew up. I'll easily adapt to any kind of environment and job.

She scribbled a number on a paper and held it out to me. "Take this, press 12 and then wait until your number is called." She said loud enough for me to hear.

She suddenly looked up at me and the scowl she had on a while ago disappeared. A genuine smile was now on her face. "Good luck with the interview."

I took the paper with a shy smile and figured that I was supposed to take the elevator to the 12th floor, so I walked, trying not to trip. I finally got to the elevator and pressed the button.

The elevator door dinged open and so I walked in, my hands still trembling and even worse now. I took a deep breath and anticipated the next step.

Breathe Rose, you got this..

My stomach was in knots as the floors flew by.

I wasn't sure what kind of situation I was walking into, but I wasn't going to complain.

I've been in worse condition and I still pulled through.

I'll give this interview my best shot and then hope for the best.

The elevator door finally stopped at floor 12 and with a loud ding, it opened.

The doors opened to reveal a long hallway that led to a very crowded looking hall with everyone dressed so professional and looking so drop dead gorgeous.

I suddenly felt light headed, and leaned in on the wall for support. Was I ready for this? Will I be able to live this life? I was so caught up in my own thoughts that I didn't realize someone was behind me. I felt strong hands tap harshly on my shoulder and I immediately snapped out of my trance.

"I SAID MOVE!" He bellowed.

I took a moment to stare at the man that just shouted at me and immediately my eyes met his, I froze.

I saw a beautiful light brown haired man standing in front of me with a deep frown on his face. The man had a nice, beard accompanied with a well trimmed mustache along with his gorgeously detailed face .

His muscles protruding out of his well tailored suit and I felt my heart racing in my chest. I was immediately intimidated by this greek god.

"Well? You like what you see?" He smirked. "If you're done checking me out, can you now get out of my way? I don't have the time to spend on things like you."

I took a deep breath to calm my heart and tried to regain whatever was left of my composure before moving out of the way. He marched past me without sparing me another glance and my heart clenched.

A picture of his beautiful eyes, they were a beautiful shade of amber that reminded me of honey flashed through my mind. I cleared my throat and proceeded to walk to the hall entrance.
