Chapter 20: The Decision

"Where were you,young lady" I heard the authoritative voice of my father thunder. I slowly turned to face him refusing to answer his questions.

"I thought I asked you a question " he asked

"I went out to have fun" I lied

"Come with me now " he said walking away.I followed him to his study and asked

"Why did you ask me to follow you... your majesty ". Instead of answering my question he showed me a video of my fight earlier today. I shifted uncomfortably trying to hide my nervousness.

"I can explain,this is one of my past matches "I tried to explain. My dad slammed his hand on the desk and said angrily

"Do you think that I'm a fool. I took this video myself today at the arena". I was beyond shocked ,how did he know about my gig .

"Now, young lady,you are to confine to your room until I order you out " he said. Before I could react,two Guards had already come up to me. I beat them up out of anger and stared shouting at my father

"What is the meaning of all this, who are you to control..." I couldn't complete my statement because six other guards came inside and subdued me.I felt angry and betrayed,I glanced at him and shook my head,any last piece of love and respect I have of him vanished that instant.I looked away from him as the guards dragged me to my room. At the corner of my eye, I could see Olivia smiling and waving at me. I immediately guessed it was her, I smiled back at her in a cold way and I could swear she shivered. I looked away from her as the guards urged me to move.

"Stop!" I heard onyx's voice command . The guards immediately stopped moving and turned to him.

"Release her now!!" His voice thundered. Although hesitant the guards left me and onyx dismissed them. I smiled at him in appreciation and he smiled back before swiftly turning to Olivia.

"Explain yourself!" He commanded

"I don't need to listen to you losers anyway because I'm going to marry the prince and you both shall be at my beckon.she said and walked away with her head held up. I looked at Onyx then sighed,what has become of Olivia.

It's funny how time flies, it's been two weeks since the ovrinoda family stayed here and it was fun. I made friends with christabel and Nelson,it was actually fun being around people that didn't dislike me. Chris and Onyx actually became closer because of their sparring sessions, it was weird at first having them around but for the first time in forever some people actually liked being around me. I know that secretly in my heart,I didn't want them to go.

"Good morning Ondy"Chris said while making a beeline for the dining table.

"I told you not to call me that" I said rolling my eyes.

"Well a good morning to you too would have sufficed " Chris answered sarcastically

"Whatever "I said while eating an apple. We talked for a while before everyone joined us at the dining table.

After everyone had eaten my father asked everyone to the throne room.

I could feel Olivia's eyes on me but I ignored it because I didn't have the time for her nonsense.

"Ondina, wait" I heard Mum call.

"Yes" I answered impatiently, mom and I haven't been getting along these days so it was bound to be awkward between us.

One week ago…..

"Ondina I don't see what your problem is" my sister shouted " it's simple as it sounds, stay away from prince Christopher " she said. I ignored her completely and I felt her push me from behind. Thanks to my years of practice,I've gained a great deal of balance so I didn't fall. I turned to her and slapped her right in the face, shocked by my outburst she stumbled back.

"Ondina what do you think you are doing" my mother asked as she got close to us, "how could you slap your elder sister " she continued reprimanding me.

"Instead of questioning my actions, why don't you ask her why she tried to push me" I challenged.

"Ondina,I know Olivia was wrong but you should know she has feelings for prince Christopher and you keep hanging around him so it affected her" my mom said. I couldn't help but roll my eyes, I was really tired of this

"Why mom?" I asked

"Why do you treat her better than me" I said pointing at Olivia.

"What are you saying dear,I treat you both the same" she explained.

At that point I lost it then said

"You know what?,that is a lie. Ever since I knew what it means to have a mother you have never fulfilled your duties, you always treat Olivia better than me " I accused

"Oh stop being dramatic "Olivia said

" I'm being dramatic,ever since we were kids I had to survive on your leftovers,I had to hide in the shadows for years ,I was denied any proper education and if not for Onyx you probably would have reduced me to a slave. What am I even saying, it's not like you count me as family, even in this new building that we're living in , Olivia gets to have two rooms while I stay at the dirty attic,so what are you saying…."before I could complete my accusations I felt someone slap me

"You ungrateful bitch, who do you think you are "my mom said and she pushed me away ". And know this you are nothing compared to Olivia. So I'll advise you to stay clear off the prince you ungrateful slut" she said as she and Olivia left…

End of flashback

"I need you to get something from your father's study" she said.

"What is it" I asked not being able to stand her presence again.

"You'll see a journal there please bring it" she said oddly nice. I walked away from her immediately and left for my father's study, after getting the journal,I found out that the door has been locked. So this is their plan ,I knocked furiously on the door but nobody answered. Knowing fully well nobody will answer I decided to go through the place. I went towards the shelves and I found a weird book. It was bright with golden decorations and an odd title, 'Norahsans". I picked up the book and studied the cover and it's weird patterns, before I could open it I heard someone approach the study so I dropped the book and went to the door. If swung open and revealing Chris' annoying face
