Months have passed with not much trouble. It's almost the end of the school year, and there are loads of tests. Or at least, I was given lots of them.
One morning at breakfast, I'm practically falling asleep from studying all night.
"Hey, are you okay Mahō, you look really tired," James asks concerned. "Did you get enough sleep last night?"
"Noo~," I reply, and then I fall asleep. I start hearing classical ballet. It reminds me of my ballet teacher Mrs. Hakuchō. I remember all the fun I had dancing around the dance studio.
Then after a while, the gentle ballet music turned into battle drums for a duel. My Master, Master Tóushí shī xīng, would use them to signal the beginning of a fight.
It made me go through memory lane, one duel I was in, the guy would keep getting up even after I did a takedown on him, he just kept fighting. I did beat him, but not before knocking him unconscious. The drums stop in between and then restart.
The drums eventually stop and everything goes quiet.
And when I open my eyes, you guessed it! I'm back in the medical wing.
I look next to me and see Liam sitting there.
"Morning," I grin up at him. "So what happened this time?"
"You really don't remember," Lily asks, pacing at the end of my bed. "Well, you were asleep."
"Yeah, her eyes were closed the whole time," James agrees. "Oh, and it's already noon, so it would be 'Good Evening'."
"So what'd I do in my sleep," I ask, sitting up, yawning.
"Well, when you fell asleep your head hit the table just as a spear came flying at you, it went over your head and into the table," Liam explains. "Then using a big long chain a guy in black pulled the spear out and back to him. Then classical ballet music began playing, you shot out of your seat and your uniform transformed into a leotard and toto with toe shoes. You began gracefully dancing around, dodging all the Shadow Beast's attacks. After a bit, you started spinning rapidly and leaped over the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff tables. Landing only a few yards away from him, and you started twirling again. And then you landed in this weird kind of criss-cross sitting pose with your right knee pointing up."
"Yeah, then the music stops and battle drums start beating," Lily continues, sighing. "You quickly stood up and your clothes changed again. This time they turned into a Gi. You turned to the Shadow Beast and charged at him. He threw his spear at you repeatedly, and you dodged them all easily. Then you went and kicked him in the nuts. And as he bent over you kneed him in the chin. You grabbed his right arm and did a takedown. After all that you bowed to him and the drums temporarily stopped."
"Indeed, and you slightly walked away when he stood up and the drums started again," Liam nods. "You turned to him and started punching him rapidly. When you stopped he toppled over, covered in bruises. You bowed again and the drums finally ceased and you fell backwards, thankfully I caught you."
"Well, that explains a lot," I mumble. "As I slept I remember hearing both of those. They reminded me of my old dance teacher and master."
"So that's why you danced do well," Rose smiles. "It seems whenever you hear those sounds in your sleep, they compelled you to do such."
"Seems to be that way," I agree, getting off the bed. "Can I go back to my room now please."
"Of course, I have no reason to keep you here," Mrs. Nurse heaves a sigh.
"Thank you miss," I smile, walking out of the medical wing followed by my friends.
I head back to my room and change into more comfortable clothes. I sit down by my tall windows and read the book I narrowed from Professor McWeasal.
I must have fallen asleep again because I'm awoken by tapping next to me. I get up and open it to find my birdies and after coming in hand me my wand.
They lift me up by my clothes and carry me out the window.
