"You seem very interested, she is not your taste at all" The half-masked vampire teased with a chuckle.
"Probably," The being in full-sleeved masks hummed. He gazed upon the crowd gathering in the ballroom and it was quite interesting for him to see humans roaming freely in front of him while he was starving. He nodded slowly with a hidden smile as the amazing soothing music became louder in his hearing.
"Are you going to announce yourself, Your majesty?" "The half-masked vampire asked seriously to ease himself and his curiosity. The king was rather very unpredictable. "Or only to your future wife?"
"Whichever is more comfortable," The being replied nonchalantly. "Or can you suggest which is better Asher?"
"It's an honor but I think you should make the decision yourself your majesty" The man named Asher replied and smiled nervously as he bowed his head. "Just like you did when I asked whether to invite only the human nobles."
"You make me feel guilty for not inviting the poor but I didn't invite them for their own good, they will be easy meals for others and we don't want that right Asher?" The being replied nonchalantly.
"Of course your majesty, you don't distinguish between rich and poor, you are a gentleman" Replied Asher and lifted his head.
"Such respect and praise are not needed Asher but you are right, I don't distinguish between rich and poor, only powerful and weak but that's not the current situation and I don't like being called a gentleman," Said the being as his uniquely dark eyes fell on a couple of people. "Or is it since there are many humans here. How pleasing, their smiles are so bright but they are weak little things like ants but sometimes roaches because they can sprout unexpected wings''
"Yes your majesty and the job is done, I sent Patrick and Luana the letter" Asher reported.
"Too bad, but I will let her go to her home one last time after this celebration then she will come to me"
Asher smiled knowingly then bowed. It was very rare for the being next to him to admire such a person, he knew that golden phoenixes were special but the being next to him was serious about that golden phoenix.
"She is separated from them, roaming around the ballroom" Asher reported as he sighted a maid coming to them with a tray of creamed familiar deserts that were the most essential delicacies of the moon festival.
She finally met them, her head was down, and she dared not lift her head. "Your majesty" She presented the tray of mooncakes.
"Are you sure these are the only ones?" Asher was the one who asked the young maid who appeared to be shivering in fear.
"Y..yes" The girl replied.
"Do what you are supposed to do then" Asher commanded. The girl obeyed by turning and walking away from them after bowing.
Asher looked at the being beside him then inhaled deeply. "How do you know that she loves mooncakes, your majesty?"
The being chuckled deeply as a response before he said, "Eventually, you must know everything Asher, but she is my future wife, I am capable of knowing many details about her."
"Does it mean that you know how stubborn she is? I repeat she is the type who can trigger you into killing her on the spot, her tongue is like a sword. She is very not as a golden phoenix but it doesn't mean that I doubt your capabilities, I am just stunned that she isn't gentle and shy like it's said to be about golden phoenixes." Asher couldn't hide his thoughts about her.
"I am glad you don't doubt me, many have doubted me and you know how they ended up, I miss my chain ax" The being uttered with a deep sigh of satisfaction. He stood up straight and took one step forward then turned back to Asher.
"Enjoy the ball, my good friend, it doesn't lack anything. Women are many and so are meals." Said the being and took another step forward.
"Are you meeting her now Mystic?" Asked Asher.
"It depends, I might change my mind"
"I will be the first to leave then your majesty" Asher bowed to the king and then disappeared into the crowd.
Uniquely dark eyes swept around the large ballroom which had been flooded with so many. He nodded as the soothing music eased his anger and irritation with the noise of the humans. His eyes moved as if looking for someone and got disappointed and impatient after a while.
.
Olympia got tired of looking for the mooncakes, and her determination to find them crumbled into pieces. She had refused countless dance proposals for three reasons only, she was focused on her mooncakes, she couldn't dance and there was a hundred percent chance that one of them was the king. Suddenly, she arrived at the exit of the ballroom, she sighted a young maid holding a tray of what she had been looking for since she got to the castle.
Olympia got excited and then curious. "Where is she taking the mooncakes too? The ball is here not there," She smiled mischievously. "Maybe I should take a bite, just one"
"Olympia?" A familiar voice suddenly called behind her. Olympia turned and bumped hard into Mrs. Jonas, in the process her mask fell off.
Gasps filled the room as even though she was wearing a mask earlier she caught much attention. Olympia wore her mask immediately she heard some gasps which attracted many but the majority didn't get to see her face.
"I'm sorry dear" Mrs. Jonas apologized nervously.
"It's okay, it was a mistake," Olympia smiled.
"I just wanted to ask if you have seen your parents," Asked Mrs. Jonas curiously.
"Not really but I am sure they are fine, hundred percent sure" Olympia replied and nodded at Mrs. Jonas who looked at ease.
"It's alright, enjoy yourself and I am sorry again" She apologized and walked away.
Olympia inhaled and clutched her ball gown, she looked at the way she saw the maid earlier but the maid was gone, there was no sign of her and it made Olympia frustrated.
.
Just as he was getting frustrated and impatient, his attention was caught by a girl in a pure bright white ball gown, her silver mask matched perfectly with her dress and made her golden hair which was nicely pinned upright in a decorative style stand out. The girl appeared to be looking for someone, a middle-aged woman suddenly walked behind her and it seemed the middle-aged woman startled the girl.
He wasn't listening to anything anymore, it was like the world had gone mute as he was lost staring at the masked girl with anticipation.
The silver mask immediately fell off, emerald eyes sparkled as they widened in shock.
Blood red eyes were unmoving at the ethereal being he was lost in.
Her features were like no other, her heart-shaped red-painted lips exposed a little of her pink lips. Her dress exposed her shoulders, her pale milky white skin, and smooth collar bones. She looked so delicate, she looked as if he blinked, she would disappear, she was even more beautiful than the first time he saw her. Well, she was cleaner than the first time he saw her. Those emerald widened eyes were filled with innocence, extremely.
Suddenly, she wore her mask back in a hurry and it snapped him out of his daze. He watched how she had a small conversation with the middle-aged woman and didn't bother listening to their conversation. Narrowing his eyes, his lips curved into an amused smirk even though it couldn't be seen by anyone.
.
Olympia increased her grip on her ball gown, she removed the pins holding up her hair without caring if people were watching her. All she wanted was to get rid of her frustration and she got a lot off her shoulders as she let down her golden long hair which passed her waist and curled at the tip so firmly. Lola had predicted that Olympia would let down her hair eventually so she made sure that Olympia's hair wouldn't be messy if she did let it down her hair.
She sighed deeply and looked left and right.
Her parents must be looking for her at the moment, they must be very worried about her. She was happy that she hadn't seen the king anywhere and decided to step out of the ballroom to go find that maid and those mooncakes.
Just as she took a step forward, she noticed someone staring at her not far away by her side. She turned to the person. It was a man, he was wearing a mask that covered all of his face and she could see his blood-red eyes, it was darker than any vampire's blood eyes and this one even had a dark shade of purple. His dark long hair was packed into a ponytail. He was walking towards her, she knew that it was her, she took another step to exit the ballroom but then she heard a deep pleasurable voice ask
"Did I make you wait for a long time, my future wife?"
