Giving attention to the deep voice, the words, Olympia jolted and turned to look directly at the unique dark eyes that were looking at her. He had a very dark and intimidating aura, his aura rhymed with those dark eyes and the way he was looking at her.
Olympia turned away to proceed out of the ballroom. She clutched her ball gown and inhaled deeply, disappointed with herself why she stumbled with the person who she didn't want to see in her life.
Taking another step, she noticed that the man had gone immobile, she didn't like him staring at her. She took a deep breath and walked toward him. "Please do not look at me like that and I am not your future wife," she said those words confidently without caring how the intimidating man would react.
He saw how her steps towards him were strong yet elegant. Her emerald eyes were fierce as if she was a predator and her sweet confident angelic voice rang freely in his ears. He saw that she was a simple girl, she was rich but simple, her taste wasn't flashy and she didn't even spray perfume on herself. She smelt like roses and daisies.
He noticed how fierce she was as she spoke those words like she was commanding him. A small smile curved his lips behind his mask which Olympia couldn't see.
Olympia didn't know if he was smiling or not but she felt that he was mocking her. She let go of her ball gown which she clutched and turned away from him.
"Can we dance? We will get to know each other"
"What?!" Olympia's greatest fear was happening. Two things, meeting the king and dancing, she clutched her ball gown again, closed her eyes, and inhaled deeply. Was he asking her to dance? To be frank, she didn't expect him to ask her after she had told him what was in her mind.
She turned to look at him and this time she noticed that he titled his head to his side. "You must be mistaken about me," she said even though she somehow knew that he was the king.
"Let's presume that I am mistaken," He paused and raised his hand, waiting for her hand. "Do you care for a dance?"
Olympia looked left and right to avoid those dark eyes but then she looked at his outstretched hand. She was hesitant, looked away from his hand, and closed her eyes tightly. She couldn't believe that this was happening, she couldn't dance. "Are you waiting for someone? Because I am sure you aren't" He asked her. He had been looking at her, he knew everything about her. No matter how much she left her mansion, she never socialized with anyone, she had no friends. He noticed that many had their eyes on her, many wanted to dance with her but for some reason, they couldn't approach her.
Olympia opened her eyes as she saw the man take a step closer to her. She moved a step away and looked at his hand which was still waiting for hers.
Mystic smiled at the delicate untouched gem that was in front of him. Her attention was on his hand and she seemed to be battling with herself whether to accept or not.
"You seem to be avoiding me, I am the reason why you are here in the first place or maybe the mooncakes are the reason" Olympia looked up at him with widened eyes. How did he know mooncakes were her reason? Mystic found her reaction cute, she widened her eyes and she looked back at his hand which was still waiting for hers.
"Yes I am avoiding you, mooncakes are my reason but my parents are also one of my reasons" Olympia admitted then took another step backward as he walked closer to her.
"One of?" She heard his deep voice echo together with the music that surrounded them. She looked up at him. "I can't dance, please go away" She turned away and took another step to walk out of the ballroom.
"How about this future wife, I will teach you how to dance and I promise it won't be noticeable to anyone that you can't dance." Olympia looked at him with widened eyes. She smiled faintly and walked closer to him.
She looked at those dark eyes then back at his hand which was still waiting for hers. "You will teach me how to dance?" Olympia asked. Her voice was suddenly smaller.
"Yes," The deep voice echoed sincerely. Olympia placed her hand on his, her hand was smaller compared to his large hand. She looked up and noticed that he had a smile behind his mask. "Okay, but do not call me your future wife, I am sure you know my name, your majesty"
"If you say so" Mystic clasped her hand, and led her to the dance floor where other couples were dancing elegantly and conversing with each other. Suddenly, the music changed into a slow and gentle one, it lightened the mood and made Olympia flabbergasted.
He turned her to face him and placed one of his hands on her small waist. Olympia looked at the other couples and noticed that the ladies had their hands on the men's shoulders. She looked back at the man not knowing what to do.
Mystic removed his hand from her waist and controlled her hand then placed it on his shoulder. He placed his hand back on her waist while still holding her other hand. Olympia felt weird, she had never allowed a man to touch her anywhere like this, even while Devon was training her, he only showed her how to pose and she learned quickly. His hand slid to her back and pulled her close to him, she gasped in response to his action.
Mystic swayed and she flowed with him, soon enough they were going according to the same rhythm but she was quite stiff.
She blinked, sighed, and decided to lift the awkward silence. "You like this kind of music?"
"Yes, don't you?" He replied looking directly into those emerald eyes.
"I haven't heard this kind of music before, it's rather dreadful, slow, and soothing in a weird way." Olympia smiled as she spoke freely.
"If you put it like that," He hummed.
"Yes but it's a delightful taste," She admitted.
"Delightful indeed," He released her waist, twirled her, caught her by her waist, and brought her even closer to him. Olympia was rather stunned, she was expecting to feel dizzy but she wasn't. She freed herself and wasn't stiff anymore.
"You are learning fast, there's nothing to be embarrassed about" Olympia was glad, he was right, it wasn't noticeable that he was teaching her how to dance. She squinted her eyes as she looked deeply into those dark eyes. He was the king, she was dancing with her future husband.
"How did you recognize me?" She asked curiously.
"You are easy to recognize, my lady," The man replied with unblinking eyes. He felt as if she would disappear if he blinked.
"What do you mean?" Asked Olympia, a bit surprised by his response.
"It means I know you better than you think my lady" The man revealed and leaned his face close to hers before twirling her and bringing her closer to him.
"You saying that spells that you are a creepy stalker and I am not getting married to a stalker" Olympia scoffed and frowned.
"I don't mind being called a stalker by your future wife" Olympia frowned and became deeper as he called her his future wife again. She didn't know that if she was another person, he or she would live before saying those words.
"I said don't call me your future wife your majesty, I have a name and you know that" Olympia was getting furious. Was he the king? He was talking as if he owned her and she hated that. Her emerald eyes narrowed at his dark unblinking ones.
"Olympia," Olympia froze at the way his deep voice pronounced her name. It was different, it was like magic on his tongue. Olympia went dumb for a while.
"Why did you pronounce my name like that?" She asked, blinking rapidly her voice was small once again.
"Like what?" Olympia looked away from him, inhaled then looked back at him.
"Thank you for the lesson your majesty" Olympia suddenly said intending to leave the creepy man. She swallowed hard, the authority, intimidating aura that was oozing out of him increased instantly as she said those words.
"I am sure you also know my name" The man suddenly said, twirled him, pulled her closer, and this time bent her backward. The light above her got blocked by the golden masked man. She stared directly into those unique dark eyes which were still unblinking.
"I am sure you do, future wife" Olympia immediately thought that he was trying to spite her.
"Oh, my mistake. I am sure you know my name Olympia" He corrected, Olympia noticed that he had a smile behind that mask.
Without hesitation, she spoke, "Mystic..."
