Hideout

Kael tied him up and they surrounded him. Kael poured a bucket of water at him to wake him up.

"Whoa!" he shouted as the cold water splashed into his face.

"Why did you ambush us!?" shouted Fred at him.

"I won't tell!" he shouted.

"Hump! Well if you won't tell us, then one finger will be cut," Fred said to him.

"I won't tell you! he said, louder than before.

Fred made a hand sign to cut his fingers.

"Okay," Kael replied to him as he brandished his daggers.

He grabs his hands that made him scream for his life.

"Where is your hideout!?" Kael shouted at him.

"To the Munjako mines!!!" the Barbarian yelled in panic.

"The hideout is at the Munjako mines. We are just only ordered to ambush merchants for their merchandise. Please I'm begging you! I have a family to feed!" he shouted histerically. 

"Hey, boss. What do we do?" Kael asked Fred.

"Tie him up and report him to the guards. Kael reports the location of the hideout to the outpost guards. Estes, as well as Johansen, come with me. We will go to the hideout. Andre and Emily, you guard this prisoner," said Fred to his party.

"Okay, I will go now," said Kael.

He dashed along the way, hastily running. He gulped a stamina potion thus restoring his stamina. Discarding the emptied bottle and then dashed again. He passed by a couple of people and they saw him running, curious of what he was up to. He saw the kingdom outpost was nearby, while patrolling guards were on the way thus he talked to them.

"Hey, guards! We've captured one of the bandits on the roads. We are on our way to their hideout," he said to them.

"What? Where's their hideout? They were in danger! Reckless fools! Do you want to be heroes? You attacked their hideout without asking for help?",l shouted one of the guards.

"Yes. I'm asking now. Please, help us!" Kael pleaded.

"Where are they now?" he asked

"On the road towards the Dwight." Kael said to them.

"Let's hurry. Go to the barracks and I will proceed there with this child," he said to one of his companions.

Kael together with the Barbarian guard went on their way. There was a small road to the left that goes to the Munjako mines. They traveled towards the small path of the forest. It was a shaded path that has thick leaves on above them. The road can be seen by the naked eye, it meant that people were using the road.

"Be on your guard. We're close," the guard said to him.

"Don't worry. I'm a captain!" he added to Kael then winked.

"That would be great! But can we kill them with our number? At least we need to wait for the reinforcement," Kael said worriedly.

'Is a captain that capable to hunt them? I wonder where is his confidence coming from.' Kael was in thought.

They saw the mines have a metallic door and there were two torches placed between it. It was not lit due to the reason that it was still daytime. The door has a handle and it has a little window. Kael and the guard approached with caution, they sneaked towards the door and the captain pulled the handle of the door.

Creak! Bang!

He fiercely opened the door and it created a loud sound. He lifted the door like it was nothing.

"Wanna come in?" he said then placed the door beside him.

Kael nearly laughed. He never imagined him to be so strong.

Kael went inside and then he saw a dark tunnel leading towards a cave. The walls have webs and the spiders crawled in it. Kael saw torches that were hanged on the walls, being lit to illuminate inside.

They traveled the path and was sneakily walking the tunnel. Kael sneaks silently, but the Barbarian captain was making noise caused by his heavy body armor. By the end of the tunnel, they saw guards that were fallen to the floor. They examined them and they were drinking when they attacked. In their surprise, they have arrows at the back of their skulls.

In their belongings, they have gold coins that amounted to seven pieces, also an axe and an arrow with its quiver. Kael equipped the bow and quiver.

"They are near," said the Barbarian captain.

The cave has torches on its walls and the ceiling was unseen due to the light can't reach its distance. They traveled the path towards the cave and saw a lever and towards it has a bridge that was tilting from the other side.

"We have to push the lever for the bridge to fall and make a way towards the other side," the captain explained.

Kael pushed the lever, then the bridge attached with its other side towards them.

Clank!

The bridge managed to be attached, but the guards on the other side were alerted.

"Who's that?!" he said from the other side.

Kael fires his arrow and it pierced one on its skull. They run towards the bridge and the captain assaulted them. They were five individuals and they were armed with shields.

'They were readily equipped this time,' Kael said in his mind.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The arrows hit their iron shields but it didn't hit their body.

Raaaaarrrr!!!

The Barbarian captain yelled as he strikes them with his axes. He slashed the one who comes first and the other.

Two went down to the bridge as they were killed. He duels another two and was not pushed back. On the other hand, he was the one who pushes them.

Clang! Clang! Clang!

The guard captain hits them hard with his axe and their shields were worn out. He kicked one of them and he was thrown. The other one used [Shield bash] but the captain stepped back a little to evade his strike.

A skill of Barbarians that requires double wield weapons to be executed.

The bandit fell as he was struck to the neck and the chest.

They went down to the bridge as the captain thrown their dead bodies into the water.

Kael felt like he was not needed by the captain to slaughter them.

'Is this how strong a barbarian captain of their army?' Kael thought in his mind.

Kael went together with the captain and crossed the bridge. They encompassed deeper in the tunnel and later on, saw that there were prison cells used to hold the prisoners. Smelling decay and piss in the air.

They went to examine one by one and saw that there were people inside.

"Help us!" said the frail woman while in her knees. 

They even saw dead people due to malnourishment.

There were a total of seven people in the cells and they were skinny and bony.

"Hey, can I ask? Have you seen people that passed by?" Kael asked them.

"Yeah. They are three in numbers. They passed us by without helping us. Please let us go!" said the other frail-looking guy in his mid-thirties.

"Well, breaking their cell doors is easy," The captain said as he pulled the doors.

Creak! Bing!

He successfully breaks their door.

"Leave, while you can," The captain instructed them.

Kael was handing them health potions and cured disease potions.

The Barbarian and Kael hurried to leave the place.

We might catch up with them if we hurry up," The captain said to them.

They went outside one by one. Kael let them drank a health potion and cure disease. His potions have run out of but luckily, he has enough. On the other hand, he has run out of health potion thus he will loot and scavenge health potions later on.

They went to the exit. Kael and the Captain continued on their way towards the headquarters of the enemies. Kael still equipped his sword on his back, while drawing the arrow from his bow that he looted from the enemy.
