"Huh?" Pierce sneered with irritation. "I haven't even given you a reply?" "Eliz, are you out of your mind? Open the WeChat and check my messages."
Pierce was angry. He had sent a dozen WeChat messages to her.
Eliz was lost. She quickly took out her mobile phone from her bag and turned on the Internet. She found that Pierce had indeed sent her many replies.
Her hand holding the mobile phone was slightly shaking. She stood there in embarrassment and didn't know what to do. Eliz lowered her head like a child who had made a mistake.
"Explain to me why you came back so late." Pierce stretched his legs and put an icy look on his face.
"Like what I said on WeChat, I was late due to my colleague's birthday," Eliz answered in a low voice.
"Colleague?" He was skeptical. "Male or female? How many people went there?" he probed. Pierce asked the series of questions like a case being interrogated.
"He is a resident doctor of our department. All members of our department were there." To avoid Pierce's suspicion, Eliz added, "Seventeen people went to the party."
"Quit your job at the hospital," Pierce said slowly. He was not happy with her answer, and his face was hard to ignore.
"Why?" Eliz asked angrily. She thought, 'I didn't do anything wrong. Why do I have to quit my job? What should I do after I resign?' Now, her mind was full of questions. 'How could I earn money without a job?'
"I don't like drunk women," Pierce said coldly and stood up.
"I promise I won't drink anymore. But for you to ask me to quit my job? That's too much!" Eliz riled while looking at him with her eyes.
"Too much?" Pierce asked. "Eliz, who on earth went too far? I've been waiting for you since you got off from work, I haven't even had dinner yet. Who do you think is more unreasonable?" Pierce retaliated with fury. He was like a beast, out of control, and lashing out at Eliz.
"Eliz, do you remember the last time you went to a bar? You met a hooligan, and someone put drugs in your wine."
"As a woman, you should keep your self-esteem and self-respect high," Pierce reminded her. His voice was stern, but a touch of compassion was evident.
"What do you mean?" Eliz asked with a bewildered expression. "Do you mean that I don't have self-esteem and self-respect?" she asked aggressively with irritation.
As the saying goes, "A newborn calf is not afraid of a tiger."
"Don't you?" Pierce asked furiously. "No sensible women would behave like that. Coming home at midnight and drunk." Pierce's tone was cold, and his brown eyes flashed with contempt.
Eliz went into the kitchen and cooked a bowl of noodles for Pierce. She cursed him silently as she cooked the noodles. She thought that such a wicked man like him shouldn't live in this world.
If it hadn't been for only a month, Eliz would have gone crazy.
Eliz walked out of the kitchen with a bowl of seafood noodles in her hands.
She put down the seafood noodles and stood aside.
He took his chopsticks and indulged in his food. He was starving, so he didn't talk much.
"What are you thinking?" Eliz had finished the whole bowl of noodles with satisfaction up to the last drop.
"I'm going on a business trip to Australia. It will take about a week until I come back," Pierce informed in a casual tone.
Pierce had been observing the sudden play of joy on the expression on Eliz's face.
"Come here," Pierce said softly.
Eliz walked slowly towards him, wondering what he was going to do next.
"Have a seat, please." Just as Eliz's eyes fell upon the chair, Pierce pulled her into his arms and made her sit on his laps without giving her an option to react.
Eliz's heart started pounding faster. Every time she got close to Pierce, she felt excited and got pulled inside her stomach. Now, they were sitting intimately, looking at each other's eyes.
"My woman doesn't need to work so hard," Pierce said softly as his eyes darkened. At this moment, his face was calm, full of tenderness and love as he looked intently into Eliz's eyes.
"What? Do you have a split personality?" Eliz could not resist the obvious question from coming out of her mind. Although, right after blurting it out,
She felt that she was going to have a split personality very soon. He had always either blown hot or cold. At the moment, Pierce's tenderness left Eliz in a bewildered state.
"I feel, it is proper for me to treat my woman nicely!" Pierce chuckled. He could sense the dilemma in Eliz's mind.
"Sleep with me tonight," Pierce ordered as he suddenly stood up with an evil smile at the corner of his mouth. Pierce lifted Eliz in his strong arms as he frowned slightly. At that moment, as he held Eliz in his arms, he felt that Eliz was lightweight.
"Don't you think that after this month, we will lead separate lives?" Pierce answered gently yet with a heavy voice as he carried her in his arms, walking towards the bedroom step by step.
Eliz looked at him with her mouth agape. Oh, Pierce hadn't touched her last night, but it didn't mean that he would never touch her. It seemed that she was too sensitive and had overthought about him.
"You are my woman, and you should be more intelligent. You know, I don't like stupid women," Pierce said cryptically.
She had been put down on the bed by Pierce.
Pierce began to kiss her. His kisses pummeled her lips as if he was punishing her for something.
"The week I'm not here will be excluded in our agreed-upon time," Pierce stopped in the act and reminded her softly. His cold lips covered on hers and nibbled gently.
'What?' Eliz became still. Oh, the time when Pierce would be away would be excluded in their agreed-upon time! It seemed that she had rejoiced too soon.
Slowly, he moved his hands to cup her breast. Pierce rubs her breast and thigh. By that time, she had begun to know his temperament. She knew that when she was together with him, the more she resisted, the more violent he would become. Hence, she gave him complete freedom over her body. Oh, they spent a wonderful and passionate night together.
Eliz didn't even realize when she fell asleep. She only remembered that she felt safe and warm in her dream.
The next morning, Eliz wake up she left alone in the bedroom. She didn't even know when Pierce left.
As Eliz tried to move her body, the pain in her lower body reminded her of what had happened last night. She remembered clearly the tender yet bossy look on Pierce's face when he had sex with her.
Eliz saw pieces of paper on the nightstand
As she put her phone back on the table, She gently picked it up and saw a few words written on it, "You must come back home on time before five o'clock every night. You are allowed to visit your house once this week."
Eliz was at the San Raffaele Hospital. She was completely knackered after the surgery this morning. Her journey as a doctor. James walked in with a patient's medical report to see Eliz.
"The patient's condition is rare. His blood is too thick–it could block the blood vessels in his heart. I'm afraid that his life is at stake." James was fidgeting with a pen, looking at Eliz curiously, and waiting for her answer.
"I'm sorry, James. I'm not feeling well today. I feel dizzy," Eliz made up an excuse.
"What? Do you want me to give you a checkup?" James was nervous.
Eliz shook her head. "No, thanks. I'm fine."
Later in the afternoon, Eliz's phone rang. It was from Echille's school.
Eliz rushed to No. 1 St Louis School.
It was her alma mater. Eliz had always loved this place very much.
"I came to your dormitory to talk about what happened in the afternoon. After investigation, I found that Jenny insulted Echille, which made Echille retaliate by taking action. There is no doubt that it's wrong on Echille's part to have hit Jenny. But the good part is that Echille realized she was wrong and wrote a self-criticism letter of five hundred words. Therefore, let's let it go now. Jenny, now you have to write self-criticism of five hundred words. Eliz meets Rico Morelli her friend.
I didn't expect you are Echille headteacher.
It was such a pleasant surprise. We are meeting each other after sixteen years. How are you?" Rico Morelli glanced at Eliz and smiled.
I'm very much fine.
After exchanging phone numbers with Eliz, Rico hurried back to his office to review the homework submitted by the students.
It was already half-past nine when Eliz arrived at the villa. Upon entering the front door, she saw Lillian was pacing up and down in the living room.
"Miss Navarro, my dear young lady, you are finally back! Mr. Aleotti has already called twice," she said exasperatedly.
"Yeah, sure. Okay," Eliz answered with a sigh.
"Where have you been? Why did you come back home so late?" Pierce asked through gritted teeth.
"Something happened to my sister at school. You know I had no choice but to handle it," Eliz explained patiently.
"So has the matter been settled?" Pierce paused and asked with concern.
"Eliz, please remember this. If you're in trouble or if anything bad happens, anything at all, please call me immediately," Pierce urged.
Goodnight..you maybe sleep now Eliz, Pierce said.
