"Who am I to you? Did you ask me to move in with you so that you can humiliate me like this?" Eliz asked, her voice still sounds painful. Eliz was nervous as hell. Her body was shaking, and it was beyond her control to keep it stable. The sting in her heart was so deep and overbearing that she felt as if someone was pulling her heart downwards.
"Did you feel bad about what happened just now?" The cold voice of Pierce sounded like a freezing cellar. He did not show the slightest trace of being even remotely affected by the upheaval in Eliz's heart. Eliz was appalled to hear his remark. At the moment, nothing affected her more than the words he uttered. His words kept hammering on her head and chest over and over again.
In a fit of anger, Eliz snapped, "No. I don't give a damn about your women."
However much she pretended not to care about Pierce's being close to other women, still in her heart of hearts, she was set ablaze with jealousy.
"Eliz, I don't like stubborn women." All of a sudden, Pierce caught Eliz by her wrist and forced her against the wall.
Pierce looked into her eyes intently for a moment, and then he broke into a wicked grin. The game he was playing with her. He wanted to hear Eliz say, "I love you, "willingly.
"Why did you even ask me to come here? Do you even need a girl like me? Anyway, there are so many women around you. You can have them all without even the slightest effort," Eliz retorted. She smiled with self-mockery.
"Do you mean to say that since there are so many people here, that makes you replaceable for me?" The frivolous tone of Pierce's words sounded like he meant something else.
Eliz denied, "No, I didn't mean that." With her back against the wall, Eliz was so nervous that her heart started beating faster.
"Liz, I'm all yours if you just say those three words," he coaxed. Pierce brought his mouth close to her ear and whispered with his magnetic voice. Her face flushed immediately when she felt his warm breath on her ear. The flush made her look more beautiful.
Eliz stared at him with her beautiful eyes. Her eyes exuded a mix of fear and bewilderment. She gritted her teeth and sneered, "You are dreaming."
What a disobedient woman! Pierce smiled helplessly and snickered, as he had been expecting something like that from her.
He laughed loudly. He was getting more and more interested in this woman. She was more adorable and interesting than any other woman he had ever met.
"Eliz, you know what? You look so charming now." Reaching out his hand, Pierce touched Eliz's face tenderly.
Immediately, he realized that she was afraid of him, and his heart sank when he perceived that.
"What the hell are you doing, Pierce?" Eliz asked.
"I want to have sex...... with you," Pierce said slowly, keeping his eyes fixed on her face so that he did not miss a single reaction from her. He snickered with a mischievous look.
Eliz was left aghast by what he said. 'What a lustful man he is! Just as I expected.
She turned her head away and ignored him.
"Do you know what will happen if you continue being stubborn like this?" Pierce asked in a joking tone.
Eliz answered, "I don't know. And I don't even want to know."
"Alright. But, you should know that for me, actions are usually clearer than words." Pierce laughed wildly, and in a smooth sweep, he lifted Eliz and piled her on his strong shoulders before he started to walk.
With a frightened look on her face, Eliz struggled desperately.
Pierce remained undeterred by her antics and carried her upstairs. He just smiled mischievously and patted her on the hip with his left hand.
Eliz cursed him a million times in her mind. 'You are just a scoundrel! A cad!' she thought but dared not speak it out.
After a while, they entered a bedroom. The room was decorated in a European style, which had a very warm and hospitable look and feels.
This room was not the same as the one that Teresa had earlier entered. The decoration in it was extremely luxurious. It looked like the main bedroom. Pierce put Eliz on the big bed and rode over her quickly.
She turned her head, and her eyes fell upon a violin kept in a transparent crystal box.
Following her eyes, Pierce found that Eliz was staring at the violin.
His face changed completely. His eyes turned darker as he stared at the violin coldly. This violin was a gift that he had never parted with. The same went for this villa also. They were the irreplaceable parts of his life.
"Pierce, can you play the violin?" Eliz suddenly asked when she saw his eyes fixing on the violin.
"Yes," replied Pierce in a flat tone. It was a short and powerful answer.
Eliz was surprised to hear that. She requested, "Can you play a piece for me?" A trace of slyness flashed through Eliz's eyes.
"No," Pierce refused coldly. But this time, his voice sounded different. No one can make him play the violin, except that one person.
"All right," Eliz said with a sigh. She felt a little disappointed.
"Have a good sleep here. Good night." After finishing these words, he left without looking back.
It was a tough night for Eliz. She didn't know how she fell asleep. She tossed and turned on the bed all night in this strange room.
The next day when Eliz woke up, Pierce had already left. She sighed as she stretched her shoulders. Then she washed up and left as well.
At noon, Pierce sent a message on WeChat to Eliz, urging her to return home soon tonight.
Eliz said okay to Pierce.
"Eliz, today is my birthday. It's my treat tonight. Will you go out with me?" James walked toward Eliz and asked.
"I... I'm sorry. I have something to do tonight." After mulling it over for a while, Eliz rejected his invitation. 'What if Pierce becomes upset?' she thought.
"Eliz, can't you grant my favor for once? Everyone from the Cardiology Department accepted my invitation, except Audie. He won't go with us," James replied with a wide grin.
"It's just an hour or two. You can go home early, okay?" James pleaded earnestly, and he didn't care if he sounded pathetic as he sought to convince her to come with them.
"Liz, come on. If you won't go, I don't want to go either." Krisha then walked in with a load of files in her arms.
Eliz had no choice but to nod her head, and she replied yes.
In the evening, Eliz sent a message to Pierce on WeChat to let him know that she had some things to still do tonight, and she might go home late.
All the employees in the Cardiology Department were excited because of Audie's absence. Before they even completed their suppers, some of the nurses were already drunk.
Nobody saw who came up with the idea, but they just demanded to play truth or dare.
It was a funny game. Everybody chose one from the cards. The cards featured some requests. When it was Eliz's turn, she drew a card of truth, and the sentence on it was, "Are you single now."
Everybody gazed at her with a teasing smile on their faces, waiting for her response until Eliz acknowledged, "Yes."
When it was James's turn, he picked one, and it was a card of dare.
It said: "You should give him or her a peck on your left."
Eliz was surprised, with her eyes widening, because she was the one who stood on his left.
James and Eliz gawked at each other, feeling embarrassed. But people cheered as they would never let go of this opportunity.
"Eliz, would you... Would you mind me kissing you? If you don't agree, I will change it to another card." James blushed red with a smile, and he looked like an intoxicated fellow.
"No, you can't. How can you manage to be so ashamed? Truth or dare is just an exciting game, so you have to comply with the rules. Getting away is not entertaining at all," Shan said. In her view, James and Eliz would be a perfect couple.
James was a resident physician now, and an extremely good-looking man. Even though he didn't have a significant position like Eliz, he came from a classical family, and he had both gentleness and elegance. He was a perfect match for Eliz.
"I... Fine!" A coy smile appeared on Eliz's face when she noticed that everybody would not allow it.
It was not a big deal. It was just a peck on her cheek. As a well-educated woman in the 21st century, she could deal with that.
It was late, and everybody had a wonderful night. They finished dining and later on went to KTV for singing. Even Eliz, who didn't like alcohol, got tipsy.
"Liz, where do you live? Let me drive you home." Glancing at Eliz's cheeky grin, James perceived that she was almost drunk.
Eliz shook her head and waved her hands. "Well. No, thanks. I can go home by myself. I'm not drunk.
Shaking his head, James held Eliz in his arms. Both Shan and Krisha were drunk as well, so they were also teasing Eliz and James.
Although James had called a driver for her, he couldn't help but worry about her. So he followed the car to ensure that Eliz would arrive home safe.
When they arrived at the MC Garden, all of a sudden, Eliz realized that she didn't live there anymore.
"James, thank you for bringing me home." After getting out of the taxi.
After James left, Eliz came to her mind and began to feel anxious. She held out her phone to check on the time. 'Oh, no! It was already half-past eleven.'
Now, she would be in trouble.
Eliz didn't hesitate to call for a taxi to No. 520, Haibin Road.
However, the moment she pushed the door open, the living room lights were turned on.
Eliz bit her lower lip. Before she could react, she noticed Pierce sitting on the sofa, with his face full of annoyance.
"So you still remembered to come back, didn't you?" Pierce's eyes became dark as he spoke with gritted teeth, and his cold expression pierced her.
I...I did send you a message on WeChat to tell you I'll be home late. You didn't respond to my message. Have you been waiting for me? Eliz asked.
