A Nice Show

At the restaurant's underground parking lot, Lily crossed her arms with an "I told you so" expression. She pointed to the trunk, which was full of gift bags, and wiggled all ten fingers in the air.

"What did I say when you wanted to get all these bags of products for grandpa? Hmmm? I told you it'll be too much for us to carry." Lily smiled as she commented about the colorful bags in front of her.

Stretching his arm outwards, he hugged Lily's shoulders. "You see, honey. We have four hands. I'll carry the heavy ones while you carry the lighter ones. Forty bags is nothing to us." He did a cheering muscular arm movement with a nervous chuckle.

"Pffft. Alright, alright. Let's grab these bags. It doesn't matter who gets the heavier or lighter bags. We're already late for dinner. Didn't you want to leave a good impression in front of my grandpa? Let's go, you grandpa lover." She carefully hooked ten bags on each hand and waited for Lin Que to lock his car.

"I'm not just any grandpa lover. I only love our family's grandpa this much." He replied after carrying the bags in his hands. On their way to the reserved VIP room, the couple joked around about whose grandfather loves whom the best.

Standing in front of the private VIP room, Lin Que whispered. "Are my clothes really alright? And my hair? I need to have the best side for your grandpa's first impression. What about my pants? Is it wrinkly?" He turned around to show her his smooth behind.

"If you keep asking the same question, I'll spank your ass and make sure my palm print sticks to your butt. You're totally good looking. The best good looking man second to my grandpa!" Though she said these words to give him some confidence, she wasn't lying about the spanking. If they were alone, she would've shamelessly grabbed his butt cheeks already.

Of course, she won't let him know her real thoughts. Just like that, the two of them proceeded to enter the room.

Once they walked in, Meng Meng and her parents' smile froze. Their eyes wandered to the brand bags in Lily's hands. Since Lily only told Grandpa Jiang about bringing Lin Que for dinner, Meng Meng and her parents were shocked to see him following behind her. As surprised as they were, their eyes wandered to the couple's hands.

Unlike a normal hand-holding entrance that most couples show when they attend occasions, Lily and Lin Que were holding expensive gifts! Meng Meng felt her mother nudging her elbow with an expectant greedy smile. Her mother whispered, "those gifts must be for your wedding. The Lin family is so rich that they bought you so many gifts."

Greeting Lily with a mocking smile, Meng Meng stood up. "Cousin Lily, you're finally here! Ah, why didn't you tell us Lin Que is also coming? If we knew, we would've ordered more food from the menu. Sorry, grandpa already ordered. We can't have the elderly wait too long for juniors, you know?"

As she stretched her hands out to retrieve the bags thinking it was all for her, Lily responded indifferently. "I've already told grandpa about bringing my fiancé to this dinner. Grandpa also asked me about the dishes he liked. I'm sure whatever grandpa ordered would suit our taste. Even if it isn't to our taste, we could always order more."

Lin Que remained quiet on Lily's side with gifts in his hands. He ignored the smile on Meng Meng and her parents' faces. Even when Meng Meng reached out for the bags, he walked past her hands and followed Lily to Grandfather Jiang.

Smiling, Lily greeted her grandfather with a gentle tone. "Grandpa, we're here. Let me properly introduce you to my fiancé. This is Lin Que. His parents are great friends with dad and mom. You should be familiar with Grandpa Lin too. Lin Que, this is my lovable grandpa."

Lin Que walked a step closer to the elderly. He placed the bags down and shook the elder's hands. "Hello, grandpa. I am Lin Que."

"Mmm..." Grandpa Jiang took out his magnifying glass pendant and studied Lin Que carefully. After a few minutes of inspection, he laughed heartily. "Hahaha! No need to feel nervous! "Yes, how could I match with grandpa's charm? Also, we only bought some herb supplements, accessories, clothing, and whatever else Lily could think of. As a junior, I need to show my respect by bringing you some presents on our first meeting as her fiancé." Lin Que sighed in relief when he realized he passed Grandpa Jiang's first test.

Suddenly, an irritated voice interrupted the peaceful conversation they were having. Meng Meng's mother stood up from her seat and walked to the brand bags. "Look at all these things? Yes, they are expensive. Yes, you are a junior and you should bring gifts to your elders. But have your parents taught you to think of the occasion when preparing gifts?"

"I mean, look at all these gifts? At least forty items right? Tonight is Meng Meng's engagement dinner. Where are our gifts? As your aunt and uncle, we should receive some gifts too, correct?
