“They’ll be here in two days!” Garrett exclaimed after Grey told him the news. “Our people are accomplished fighters, but there is much to be done if we’re going to be ready.”
Grey and I were in the ceremony room informing our most trusted shifters about Nikki’s news.
To be sure, I had reached inside the mind of every shifter present and found their loyalties lay with us and the pack. I would check everyone else present at the picnic in a few hours.
“I want lookouts on duty around the clock,” Grey said. “The enemy can’t be allowed to attack us without warning.”
“I’ll see to it,” Dean said with a nod. His expression was grim. He knew well how high the stakes were in the coming battle.
Linda took Dean’s hand. “Grey, I believe the pack would feel more united if you and Emma were sworn in as our official pack leaders before the battle.”
“It can be arranged for tomorrow,” I said.
