Chapter 47: The Pack Masters
The next day was a blur of activity, starting with last training bouts and a check on our security system.
Lily was like a hummingbird, flitting here and there, making sure her orders for the ceremony preparations were being carried out.
“We should have made you a general over some troops,” I teased after she gave her helpers a long list of detailed instructions.
“I want it to be perfect,” she said. “Everyone needs our pack leaders to be official before facing the coming fight.” Lily looked at me as if she wanted to say more.
“What’s wrong, Lily?” I put a hand on her shoulder.
“I don't want to make a big deal out of it,” she began. “But Ash and I asked Linda to perform our joining ceremony today. We don’t want anything big, just a small ceremony with our family and a couple of friends.”
“That’s wonderful!” I exclaimed.
“We were going to wait, but with the battle coming, I want us to be joined in case …”
