Confused.

Joy turned to see Gerald and Xavier standing behind them. His eyes were on her, fixed without blinking.

She got up feeling her face burn up from the embarrassment and excitement of seeing him again.

She pushed her seat aside and was tempted to walk to where they were, but stopped when he stepped back, turned, and left. She stayed in place looking at him leave, the excitement quickly being replaced with pain as shame. Even after hearing all those words from her he still seemed to resent her somehow.

Liana stood up moving close to her, Joy turned to reveal her tears already falling.

"Why does he treat me this way, did I do something to make him do all this " she cried.

Liana pulled her in for an embrace and gestured for Xavier to follow Gerald.

Sitting Joy down, Xavier's mother passed her a napkin.

"Clean that face, you look dreadful," she said.

Joy took it and dried her tears with her head lowered.

"Don't feel bad, he loves you. But right now his just acting out on his own emotions, give him time, and soon will come running to you " she said.

They stayed with Joy until she felt better then went back to chatting & shopping for the new guest.

After a long day, they dropped her home and headed back too.

After some dinner with Xavier's mother, Liana went back to her work on the laptop. She was still making plans on how to make a new business but nothing had worked out.

Her phone rang, "hello, Joy"

"Liana, his here, " Joy's voice said. It was so low Liana had to ask her to repeat herself.

"Joy, what's wrong?"

"Lucian is here & is acting weird again. Am scared " she said. Liana tightens her grip on the phone.

"Stay away from him, let me come, " Liana said getting up, but then sharp screams were heard from the other end.

"So you also support her now, my sister telling my girlfriend to replace me with a demon "

"Lucian what did you do?" Liana shouted.

A laugh was heard, "what did I do? well nothing so far .but if you want to protect her then better come over but if you involve those freaking monsters then your friend will suffer " he said hanging up.

She rushed to the car, her heart was beating so loudly she could hear it, Joy had just recovered from all the mess he had caused, if Lucian hurt her again she would break.
