A Guest.

"You have been hiding inside this apartment for weeks you need to move and get some fresh air or it won't be good for your health " Joy pulled Liana out of bed.

She groaned, "Dont please let me sleep "

Joy looked at Xavier standing next to the bed with her, they had tried everything but Liana didn't want to leave her room. Even when she was hungry Liana would plead with him to bring the food upstairs.

Letting her go back to sleep they moved back down the stairs to the living room.

"How is she, still refusing to leave?" Gerald asked sipping his coffee.

Joy nodded, "It's like she lost the will to live, I don't know what else to do. We have tried everything but to no avail "

"Then let her be, Liana is a grown woman. She will come out and talk to us when feeling like it so just give her time " Gerald said.

"But..."

"Xavier you don't need to worry, just be there for her when she calls you. That is enough for now " Gerald said to him.

"The company isn't doing well since Lucian and his mother took over. Most of the projects we had going on have flopped and marketing seemed to have stopped too " Joy said.

"It's mostly because we cut them off from our outlets so it stalled their product sales," Gerald said.

"They should have thought twice before harming her " Xavier muttered.

Gerald scoffed, "Am surprised you're not out for their blood by now considering how much they hurt Liana "

"I can't leave Liana alone right now so they will have to wait," he said.

The doorbell rang and Joy looked up at the two men.

"Did anyone order something?" she asked.

"No " they both answered.

"Then who is it?" she walked to the door.

Opening it to show Liana's mother. She stood in the doorway holding a smile on her face while carrying bags of groceries.

Joy blinked and turned back at the two men inside.

"Ahh, ...we have a guest," she said opening the door.

She walked in still smiling.

Gerald smirked while Xavier frowned.

"Seul, I followed your advice and now am here," she said.

Joy and Xavier turned to him in question.

"That's good but do you think this choice is good?" he asked. Xavier turned back to the guest staring at her after a minute he stepped forward.

"What are you doing here, leave this body and go back to where you belong," he said.

"I will leave but only after I see my daughter," she said.

"You have no right to say or do that," he said.

"I have every right, I am her original mother and this body is her mother now. So we have every right to see her " she argued.

Gerald pulled back Xavier, "Well the issue is that you still choose someone Liana wouldn't want to see either. Her mother has betrayed and hurt her in the past so I don't think she will like anything you say"

"Don't worry about that, just let me see her " she said.

"Am still confused about her but I think she's right whoever she is. Liana right now needs her mother and if she is here to see her then let's allow her " Joy uttered.

"How sure are you this crazy woman won't do anything stupid?" Xavier turned to Gerald.

Gerald flinched but answered, "Let her just go in and talk to her, we will be there listening. If she does or says anything stupid then we get her out "

"And this time I will personally send you back to the underworld " Xavier glared.

Liana's mother smiled turning to Joy. "Show me the kitchen so I can make something for her "

"Okay," Joy lead the way.

Xavier frowned still staring at the guest. Gerald chuckled, "We tried everything, let her give it a try maybe it will work "

"If it fails I will punish both of you 'cause it was your idea after all," he said.

Gerald sprung up in worry watching Xavier walk to the balcony.

Liana was reading news about her company on her phone when a knock came on her door.

"I said to leave me alone," she said, but the knock came again until it bothered her. "Alright, Joy you win, come in ".

She heard the door open and someone walk in. A warm delicious smell filled her room. She sighed, " You bought me food again, I said I wasn't angry," she said without getting up.

"But I want to feed you, Joy said you haven't eaten in three days. Do you want to join me in the underworld " a familiar voice said.

Liana sprung up to see her mother sit down on her bed. Gently she placed the tray with food aside.

"Mother?" she muttered
