No Help

"Get off me! Get off me! I'll scream!" The girl's plucky voice assailed Hazel.

"He'll be back soon! The man who saved me will be back!" She sounded even more confident than she did before.

"I am back." Hazel placed the girl down onto the floor before he turned to make sure no one was looking. He had to transform into his child form soon or he could tell the vampire part of him might take over his ability to reason.

"Cover your eyes. I don't want you to see what's down here." He put his hand over Adelaide's eyes.

"I'm five years old. I can look," Adelaide bit her lips, feeling both angry and happy at the same time.

"I want to know more about who saved me. I deserve to know." She pulled his hand that covered her eyes.

Hazel sighed and turned the girl around because he could tell she was sneaking a peak at him.

Her body was trembling and she fidgeted with her hands while trying to hide that she was scared. It was obvious that her mental state would be a lot worse off if she had to look at the dead ghouls in the corner. It was enough to see them fighting Hazel, but if she had to see them again it would prove they were real.

'Vampire' Hazel decided to transform back into his human form as the feeling of excitement turned into dull fear. It took just a few seconds for him to begin to feel terrified again.

"He left," His lips quivered.

"He told me to get you out of here."

"He-he left us? He said you abandoned us! Why would he do the same thing?" Adelaide stomped her feet in the water.

"He's supposed to be my husband! The man who saves me gets my heart!"

"He'll meet you again in the future!" Hazel grabbed her hand and found his strength had grown. A light tug on her hand sent her jerking towards him. A feeling of great power fueled his movements and returned a slight smile to his face.

"He told me to save you! We have to go!" Hazel tried to drag her to continue on with their current path.

"Can I look?" Adelaide refused to proceed, feeling the cold water underneath her feet.

"I have to look or else I might trip. I don't want to fall. I also don't like water. I want you to carry me." She reached out her arms while stubbornly staying in her spot.

"I can't carry you!" Hazel couldn't take it and pulled her towards the exit. She tried to fight back and slightly groaned as her legs felt the cold sewage water seep up her skin. But, Hazel's strength overpowered hers as she walked with him from his strong force.

They passed the bodies and then turned into the tunnel. Where was he supposed to go? The opposite direction of the mutated ghoul seemed like his only route forward. The fear once again returned to him as he darted in the opposite direction.

"Open your eyes," Hazel felt sorry for the girl next to him.

"We're almost out of here. Once we do, I'll call my father." He tried to cheer her up.

"My father's dead," Adelaide finally admitted.

"He told me not to cry. He said if I don't cry, he'll be fine. Am I fine?" She started to whimper, but stopped herself.

"You're strong," Hazel stopped suddenly as his heart nearly jumped out of his chest.

He heard something that sounded like a mixture of water splashing, but it didn't sound human with the odd footsteps. It was like tough claws trailing the ground rather than the hard taps that came from shoes.

He turned to the door to his right where the captives exited quickly when he entered the sewer. He cautiously turned the metal doorknob and the door creaked as it opened up.

As shadows trailed into the passage, he ran into the doorway and lightly closed it.

"Adelaide, shush… Don't make a sound," Hazel looked at Adelaide as her legs trembled and her body began to shiver. "We'll get out of here, I promise."

A special task force in Cancun was normally on vacation in the summer.

That all changed when an odd disturbance occurred at the mall and the lead agent Marlie, had to come in with her staff in the middle of her vacation. She was still wearing a one piece swimsuit and a margarita in her other hand.

Some might think she was a normal woman except for the fact that she looked five years old. Her wrath was remarkably hidden under her glacial eyes as she examined a video. It was the video of Hazel running out of the mall after somehow escaping notoriously strong thugs.

She was incredibly focused as she noticed every single detail. The drops of blood on his black suit and his calm mannerism when they put him in the back of the vehicle. If she wasn't a demoness, perhaps she would've missed all of that.

"Miss Marlie, he is the son of the owner of the Forlorn Company." Her subordinate whispered into her ear.

"This case is considered highly important because of his father's prestigious name. However, we only called you in when we found two blood drained bodies in the bathroom."

"I'm not surprised," Marlie paused the video.

"His father is notorious for how he broke the barriers of demon and human trade deals. The thing that I find surprising is that this kidnapping happened at all."

"But why would anyone mess with the leader of the Forlorn Company? He's just a human, but he's a human with more connections than stars in the night sky." She nonchalantly shrugged like it didn't have anything to do with her.

"We don't know. However, take a look at this," A large man, three times her size, hesitated and trembled as he put a polaroid taken of the crime scene on her desk.

"The bodies have teeth marks from someone of normal size. It can't be Hazel." He pointed out the film on paper.

"I saw that. Was there any other exits? Did his father have anyone special on his staff? I thought he had to give the names of his bodyguards to the Mexican Demonic Government."

"We can't get in contact with his father, so we don't know." The man turned, feeling even more terrified with his back to the young girl.

It was hard working under her leadership.

She was notorious for killing people who disobeyed her and had a hot temper that was bottled up in such a small cage.

However, she was calm and focused right now, replaying the video over and over again. That meant she was interested and she even seemed to somewhat be blushing.

"I think this little kid might know something about his father's business." She pointed at Hazel and slightly bit her lip.

"Send out a task force to the orphanage. I want them to watch his every movement. If that vampire comes back to help him, I want to know exactly what he says and does." Her index finger tapped on the desk to show her impatience.

"Yes!" The large man responded, quivering as he shouted, "What you wish is my command!"

Hazel's father got a phone call twenty minutes later than he expected.

His wife usually called him when she made big purchases on his credit card. He liked protecting her and felt a sense of pride every time he bought her something. He might be a hard worker, but he loved being able to support his wife.

He smiled as he was working until he saw a photo of his son. There were two people who he considered to be his weakness in this world and it was Hazel and his wife. He hummed as he did his work as he planned a trade deal.

It was fun being a CEO of a company, but it was all worth it with his son in his life. If he was right about his wife, his son was very special. He couldn't wait to spoil his wife when she got home and had a special idea in his head for dinner.

"Sir, bad news! Your son has been kidnapped! Your wife is in a hospital!"

"Apparently, one of your body guards was able to rescue your wife, but not your son! I'm so sorry to budge in on you like this, but I thought you'd want to know!" A large body guard ran into the room. He looked completely human except he had sharp claws on his hand.

"What do you want me to do?"

"Nothing." Hazel's father sighed and looked over at his photo, "I guess his blood isn't as special as I thought."

Hazel's dad sighed and looked at his son's photo with contempt before he placed it face down. "It's a shame. I went through all that trouble to find his mother and he disappointed me."
