First Contact

Homeroom finished smoothly and with the majority picking Elizabeth to become our class rep and she began talking to everyone around the class probably to get to know each one of us. Seems like it's my turn from the looks of it.

"Beatrix, right?" Elizabeth asked.

"Yes, I am what brings you here Miss Elizabeth?" I replied.

"Well you can just start calling me Elizabeth if you will, adding Miss on the end feels weird to me to be honest." Elizabeth expresses her meek personality.

"If you don't mind it. Then sure Elizabeth, you're quite a humble gal." I replied.

"Hey! Class rep~" Mia appearing out of nowhere.

"Oh, Mia seems like you and Beatrix are already close." Elizabeth pointed out that Mia is basically clinging behind me.

"How could you tell?" Mia asked.

"The fact that you're basically close to Beatrix's right arm holding it close to you can tell that you two already got close plus I heard you two talking earlier during homeroom." Elizabeth informed us.

"So what do you want to know from us?" I replied.

"Well I wanna get close to everyone in class so I wanna know what you two did before going to highschool." Elizabeth replied.

"I was a pretty average student in middle school though I did join the art club for a short while in the last year of middle school." Mia bragged a bit.

"I on the other hand was a star student of my class and a track and field ace at one point." I answered calmly.

"Oh, you're a star student like me? Why didn't you ace the exam?" Elizabeth was concerned,

"I wasn't targeting anything and wanted to keep a low profile after being the talk of my previous school. It was a bit overwhelming for me." I answered with a reassuring tone.

"I get what you mean but I didn't avoid it by sandbagging but at least I know someone who is in the same boat as me and it is a pleasure to be your classmate." Elizabeth shakes hands with me and Mia.

Elizabeth leaves the classroom just as the school bell rang.

"She's really nice huh." Mia acknowledges Elizabeth's kindness.

"Guess so, it seems like it's lunch time. Wanna go?" I replied.

"Let's just have lunch here but before that I'll buy some bread in the cafeteria, just wait for me here since you have packed lunch." Mia replied as she headed out to the cafeteria.

I nodded as Mia left the classroom and I prepared my lunchbox while waiting for her to come back. Now that I think about it… I fit in quite well I suppose.

But I need to get close to Elizabeth if I have to do my job. I think of ways on how to get close to her.

"Seems like you're thinking some deep thoughts right there you okay Beatrix?" Elizabeth chimed in behind me.

"Oh, hey Elizabeth. I thought you went outside to grab lunch." I replied.

"No, I just bought something to drink from the vending machine across the hall. I packed my own lunch anyway." Elizabeth moves her table close to our table between me and Mia's table.

"You cook that on your own?" I asked.

"Yeah, I love cooking since I can experiment differently each day." Elizabeth replied as she began eating with me.

Weird that she picked our table to hang around with. Then again her seatmates aren't here. She probably chose us since she didn't have anyone to eat with for today.

"Elizabeth, you're eating with us?" Mia arrives after buying her bread from the cafeteria.

"I mean we're seatmates after all." Elizabeth shrugged.

"True, anyways both of you can cook! That's nice." Mia drools as she sees how nice our packed lunches were made.

"Here you want some Mia?" I offered her some of my lunch.

"We've just met and you're already offering me your lunch?! You're a God sent Beatrix…" Mia happily accepts the offer.

"I made a bit too much today and I wouldn't want to waste it anyways so here." I feed some of my extras to Mia.

"It's nice that you put a lot of effort into your lunch, Beatrix. And you're giving some to Mia. It's really nice of you." Elizabeth complimented me for being considerate.

"Yours is also pretty nice and well organized. You must have taken your time well on making it." I replied to her compliment.

"Oh, I just have a lot of free time after waking up. It's really nothing too surprising." Elizabeth responded a bit embarrassingly after taking in a well made compliment.

We enjoyed lunch at our own pace and felt like I got closer to Elizabeth which means I'm making progress. And that's good I guess. Classes resumed after lunch and all's well for now that is.

Knowing they gave me free reign on how I can tackle this mission. I have to do this as naturally as possible so I can get to know about her while protecting her from any possible threat.

Not to brag or anything I am breezing through these classes though knowing this is just day 1 of my school life I can't be too reckless or I might distance myself from Elizabeth. But these classes are way too boring…

*Sigh*

"Psst~ Bea you okay?" Mia whispered while class was on-going.

"Yeah, I'm fine, I just remembered what chores I have to do at home." I whispered back.

"Okay, just tell me if something's seriously wrong okay?" Mia Smiled.

"You two at the back! Stop talking during class and listen up." The Teacher called us out.

We straightened up to listen to the teacher. And thankfully we were just given out a warning. After two classes we were given a break to get to know each other in class better.

And as convenient as it was, Elizabeth ended up in our group of me, Mia, and Elizabeth.

"I guess we're gonna be hanging out from now on, huh." Mia grinning as we were grouped up once again.

"Well I don't mind this kind of company since we're close in seating position and that we already ate lunch together. What else do we need left to make it official?" Elizabeth wondered.

"Going out together after school then going home together soon after." Mia replied.

"We can start with the latter first if you want to. Since going out already seems to be too much for us right now since we don't know that much about each other as of right now." I responded to Mia's suggestion.

"Since we have all this time for today, let's learn about ourselves shall we?" Elizabeth suggested.

Seems like this is a perfect time to learn more about Elizabeth while I'm getting close to her. Two birds with one stone.

"So since I suggested it I'll start first. I'm Elizabeth, you can call me Liz or Eli if you want to. That's usually my nickname back in middle school. I love reading books and I plan to join the library committee. What about you two?" Elizabeth introduced herself.

"I guess I'm next. I'm Mia and you can just call me as is but I've heard some of my old classmates calling me Mimi but you can do that at your discretion. I love anything nice to be quite honest it is vague I know but hear me out I just love the simple and honest stuff in our day to day life.

Also I didn't have a club since I was part of the going-home club back in middle school. But I'll try to get one. Though emphasis on trying that is, which leaves us with you Beatrix!" Mia conveying her embarrassed side as she was the odd one.

"Sure, I'm Beatrix as you already know that you can call me Bea if you want too. And as a track and field athlete I'll try out on joining the schools' track and field team and see what I can do for the school. I love fitness and keeping myself healthy and in tip top shape.

Not much else except that I did pretty well in middle school in my studies." I finished off the introductions.

We continued on talking about random topics that correlated to the things we learned about each other. And thus a friendship has formed and phase 1 of the mission is now complete. I just need to keep this up and have a close relationship with her to keep her from harm's way.

Our day ended on a high-note and we went home together as our first bond and I got to know which direction the others went home to. I'll keep that in mind, anyways I have something to do after this anyways.

Exia might visit my home after this so I might do a report about my first day. For my first time going to school, it is nice that I was able to fit in just fine. The thing I have to focus now on is keeping this up.

When I arrived at my apartment, and when I was about to open my door I heard a noise from inside. And carefully opened it and the door was unlocked. From the looks of it someone's in the kitchen.

I walked slowly… Until…

"Hey stop sneaking up on your mom, dear. Dinner is about to be finished." Exia appeared behind me.

"Exia, you're here?" I replied.

"Can you just call me mom for once dear? You're making your poor mother feel alienated when I was the one who raised you up." Exia teared up a bit after being emotional.

"It's not that I don't want to call you, it's just I'm a bit embarrassed to say it in front of you." I replied.

"Let's sit down and have dinner and tell me your first day at school okay?" Exia comforts me…

We sat down for dinner and enjoyed it. Food and all, and I can report what I have learned today…
