"where are you going?"

'that voice...'

Aradia slowly turned around and saw that her guess was indeed correct, the owner of the voice was none other than her older sister, Clara

"Hey..."

'why must my luck be so rotten?'

The red thought, this was the third time someone had caught her sneaking out

'should I just stop?'

Aradia questioned, every time she had sneaked out something had to go wrong, the first time was a pervert, the second was Issac and now Clara

But even though something went wrong each time something also happened that made up for it, like the first time she met Mei, the second time finding that gang and now this

'what will happen this time?'

The red head wondered, surely all this couldn't be a coincidence, right?

"Don't "hey" me! What are you doing outside at this hour?!"

Clara almost yelled, How could she not? This troublemaker sister of hers was out this late without telling anyone

"I could ask you the same thing, and does anyone know that you're out?"

Aradia said tilting her head a little like a child

"You-! I- ugh!"

The red head's words had really made Clara all worked up, why wouldn't it? Of course everyone and all the noble families would make a fuss if something like this was found out but it was even worse for Clara

Unlike Aradia or Issac, who would also get backlash from the annoying noble families because they can't let people live in peace- it was worse for Clara, she was the first born and the supposed to be head of a Duchy, caught sneaking out from the prestigious Rain Academy, oh my!

'jeez she has it tough'

The red head thought and looked at Clara who looked as though malfunctioning

"Haa.. forget it"

Clara looked back at Aradia and sighed, after she had calmed down the red head gave her the letter

"What is this?"

The pink haired girl questioned with suspicion

"Someone called "Al" gave this to me and told me to give this to you, I looked for you at the library after class but you weren't there"

Aradia explained with a slight irritated look

The red head noticed how Clara jolted at the mention of "Al"

"Do you perhaps.. know him?"

"What- no-! I do not know someone named Al"

Clara was very suspicious, she was definitely hiding something

'should I question her?'

Aradia wondered but decided against it, if Clara was so worked up it was definitely something sensitive and Yeon Haa had no interest to know what she was up too as it would only make her a part of the plot

"Hm.. alright but where are you going?

"I... I could not fall asleep so I came out for a walk"

"I see, well same here"

Aradia put her hands behind her head and walked past the pink haired girl but stopped to ask a question

"Are you going anywhere specific?"

From what Yeon Haa could tell, Clara wasn't the type to break rules or go out so late for something as silly as not being able to fall asleep, unless it was their house garden of course

"No- I'm not, and-"

Clara turned around and looked at Aradia

"-don't stay out for too long, go back in ten minutes"

"Ha?! But going back to the academy alone is gonna take ten minutes, how am I supposed to wander around?"

The red head exclaimed

"That's the point"

"..."

"Where are YOU going?"

Aradia pointed at the pink haired girl and asked

"Back to the academy"

"That is not the way back to the academy"

"..."

This time it was Clara who was quite

"I'm taking a special route"

Aradia just started at the girl Infront of her with a blank expression, was she seriously supposed to believe this?

"Haa.. "

The red head sighed

"Alright, whatever you say; but don't stay out long as well"

"Seems like you are responsible now"

Clara commented whilst she pointed at Aradia with a smug look

"You bet I'm.."

Yeon Haa mumbled to herself

"Huh? Did you say something?"

"Nope"

"Alright, I'll be off now"

Saying that Clara left in a direction the red head knew wasn't going to led to the academy

'i should also get going'

Thinking that Aradia also left

The red head had been wandering around for a while now but she still couldn't find what she was here for in the first place

Yesterday Aradia had seen something like a ball of light, that's the best way she can explain what she saw and that "ball" of light was following her or Issac- she didn't know but what she did know was that the "ball" of light was something else

'ha.. it's no use, I'll just go back'

The red turned to the direction of the academy to leave

But by luck or coincidence at that very moment she saw a somewhat bright ball of light pass by her

"Tsk cliche"

Saying that Aradia ran after the light and stopped at an alley as the ball had stopped flying around

The red head was out of breath and didn't notice a low breathing noise

The ball of light glowed blindingly bright and from that light a person came out

He was small, as small as a pixcy and could sit on a normal person's shoulder without a problem

He had short white hair with two rat tail braids at the front, framing his face; a blindfold like thing over his eyes, the blindfold was a pale blue colour with gold details

He wore a pale blue robe that went transparent at the upper body, the robe was opened at the top and Aradia could see his upper body including the stomach

Though he had a slightly darker piece of cloth draped over his chest so no one would get flashed

He had a necklace that had a large water like crystal and a brooch that had another water like crystal as the centre piece, and the brooch itself was golden and had a wings design and the crystal at the centre of the two wings, it was attached to the piece of cloth that covered his chest

"Why are you following me?"

The pixcy asked, his voice didn't match his soft face at all, his voice was nice and deep, of course not as deep as a grown man but it still didn't match his twink face

"Pardon? YOU were the one that followed me yesterday"

Aradia said with a huff, was she wrong about whom he actually followed? Probably did she care? No! She had to show this kid who's the boss

"Ha? Oh yeah, I remember"

He said and looked at the red head up and down

"So? Why were you following us the other day?"

"Well, it's because you are... Weird"

"What did you just say?!"

"Yeah, it's that your soul and body doesn't match at all"

Aradia froze, what did he just say?

"..What do you mean..."

"This is not your body, this body belongs to some other soul but I can't feel that soul's presence at all meaning the original soul is either somewhere else as in someone else's body or dead"

The pixcy explained as he floated around in the wind

"I'm not going to ask how you took this body but I will ask, who are you?"

Yeon Haa was quite, how did he know? Should she answer? Was it okay to tell someone about this-

"I...-

Aradia started

"You're right, I'm not the original owner of this body, I don't know how I ended up here"

"What do you mean?"

The albino asked coming forward a bit

"I'm not from this world, I know it sounds crazy but it's the truth, I used to live in a world where magic, elves, dragons or anything like that didn't exist as for how I ended up here, well to put it shortly: I unalived myself for reason's and found myself here"

Yeon Haa found herself telling almost everything, it was weird since she never did that but sometimes your body works faster than you can think

"I see, you are one really intriguing human"

Aradia was surprised by his response but didn't act

"How did you know though?"

The red head questioned

"How could I not? After all I'm a Spirit of course!"

The pixcy- no spirit said proudly

"What-"

"Yup"

"But aren't spirits supposed to find as elf that they can make a contract with?"

The red head asked, this was strange, why would such a rare existence be out here

"Hm.. well yes, I was actually looking for an elf who matched with my conditions to make a contract but I couldn't find any and then I saw you, someone who had a different body and soul so I was interested and here we are"

"Conditions? If you were interested then why did you leave?"

"Heyyyy that's too many questions, and what will I get from answering anyway"

Aradia was quite, that was true why would he answer?

"Ha.. whatever I'll be going now"

Saying that the red head turned around to leave but the spirit shouted her to stop

"Wait! Don't go!"

"What makes you think I would do as you say?"

"I-...."

He looked away and stayed quite for a bit

"Forgot it, what did you stop me for?"

The spirit looked back at the red head, he looked like a pitiful child

'jeez'

"Say it or else I'm leaving"

"No, don't! I just.. I'm really interested to see what you do and all that"

"Huh- why?"

"Don't take it the wrong way, I have never seen a person whose soul and body doesn't match so I'm curious and want to observe you for a little bit before I return back home"

The spirit explained no longer being all shy and embarrassed

"My life is not a show, keep dreaming of "observing" me"

Aradia, very obviously annoyed and a little pissed said and started walking away

The little gremlin however continued flying behind her

"Stop."

He stayed quite for a little bit before saying

"What do I have to do in order for me to be able to observe you?"

The red head was shocked, this troublesome spirit knew how to convers not only properly but also formally

She thought for awhile, what could she say that would drive him away.. oh!

"Help me become a great mage"

"WHAT- are you nuts! A great mage is the second most powerful title a mage can get!!"

'this is perfect'

Aradia did know that, in this world there are four different stages or titles a mage can get

There's beginner, intermediate,  great and lastly grand mage

It's true that the jump from intermediate to great is definitely a big difference but then again the term intermediate is actually referring to most graduated adult mage's

Later in the story, if Yeon Haa's memory is correct then just after studying under Ellen Clara became a great mage and around the end she was going to become a grand mage

"So will you help me or no?"

Aradia asked, she actually had no interest is becoming a great mage though the idea was nice

".. I'll help you, but in return I'll observe you for a month"

"Huh-"

He actually agreed?! How? He was supposed to disagree

"That's what you wanted, right? I'll help you; so do we have a deal?"

The spirit crossed it's arms and spoke

Aradia thought for a few seconds, it wasn't a bad idea because it benefited her a lot

So even if there was a chance she might get tangled in the plot of «The Survival» she was going to take a gamble

"Yes, we have a deal"
