'was it the wrong choice?'

Aradia wondered while walking back to the academy with the spirit following her, though she knew the deal benifits her a lot, the red was starting to be sceptical about her choice

"You seem puzzled"

The spirit commented not expecting for the red head to answer

"Well yeah- but let's not talk about that, I don't know anything about you so why don't you introduce yourself?"

The spirit stopped and looked down at the red head, he let out a humming noise before speaking

"I'm the one and only prince and soon to be rular of the mighty water sprites, Lir!"

'what'

"A prince?"

"Yup, don't tell me you couldn't tell I was royalty, I literally have these two large water crystals!"

The water sprite who introduced himself as Lir spoke offended

'how am I supposed to know that?'

"Sorry I guess?"

Aradia had really hit the jackpot, not only did she meet a spirit but a royal one at that, this wasn't going to end up bad right?

The red head was quite and trying to comprehend the fact that she had meet a royal spirit but Lir thought she was mocking him or something

"Hey! Why are you looking at me like that, huh?!

"Like what?"

Aradia said finally paying attention to the person- no spirit with her

"... introduce yourself, or do I have to guess?"

Lir not knowing what to say decided to change the subject

"Oh right, I'm Aradia El Duras, third oldest and a member of the Duras Duchy"

"Hm.. but that's not your actual name is it?"

Aradia halted, the feeling of someone knowing she was not Aradia was still foreign

Seeing how the red head halted Lir decided it was better to not make her forcefully say the truth but wait

"You don't have to say anything related to that if you don't want, however as I will help you become a great mage I will need something in return therefore, on our last day together before we part ways you have to tell me your real identity"

Aradia wanted to protest or at least annoy him a little before agreeing but seeing just how serious he looked the red head didn't bother instead just nodded

Lir sat on the red head's bedroom window and looked at the moon, Aradia had went to the bathroom to change her clothes

The read head sat on her bed and asked a question that had been bothering her for awhile now

"Spirits are very rare existence and can hardly be seen so what are you doing in plain sight?"

Lir looked back at her and thought for a little while before answering

"We aren't really a "rare existence", you'd be surprised by our population if you ever went to the spirit kingdom and as for the other part, humans are consumed in their own lives to notice me, you were the first to actually have noticed me; so I wasn't really out in plain sight"

"If you aren't a "rare existence" then why are you hardly seen out and there only being around fifty elemental elf's?"

"Hm.. I'll be honest, we spirits hate humans and want nothing to do with them, that's one of the biggest reasons as to why we are hardly in the human world and for the elemental elf part-"

Lir flew over to where Aradia was sitting and sat cross-legged on the air Infront of the red head

"We spirits have to find an elf most compatible to us in a very short amount of time, that's why there are so few elemental elves"

"Compatible?"

Aradia questioned wanting the albino to explain further

"Yes, we spirits have a few "recruitments" and if an elf matches the said recruitments then we from a soul contact with them, the contract will last till the elf dies"

"Ah I see, but why are there recruitments in the first place? And why do you have to choose an elf in a limited amount of time?"

"Jeez you ask so many questions"

"I'm just curious, okay?!"

Aradia said huffing and looking away to another direction feeling embarrassed

"Big baby..."

Lir mumbled and layed down on the air

"What did you say!?"

The red head looked back at him and pretty much shouted but not really

"Nothing, we have recruitments because we have to spend decades after decades connected with one elf, so wanting the person you're stuck with for so long to have a few attributes you like is nice and it's not like we actually find anyone perfect; most of the time we just end up settling for an elf who lacks a lot of the recruitments"

Aradia thought about his reasoning for a few seconds, it did make sense after all the spirit would be stuck and follow the elf they made a contract with for so many years, yeah it would be nice if the elf had a few things you like

"And for the time limit, well I don't actually know; all spirits are chosen at a different age and given a different duration of the time they have to find an elf"

"Huh, that's weird"

Aradia commented finding this to be rather odd

"I know right? I asked dad, the king but he also didn't know"

"Did you really have to add the king part?"

The red head said annoyed

"Why yes!"

Aradia just shook her head before asking her last question

"Alright last question, how long of a duration did you get?"

"Me? I got five months and this is my last  month, unfortunately I still haven't found an elf who I wanna make a contract with"

Lir frowned as he spoke before signing and going to the window he was sitting on

The both sat in silence for a little bit before Lir spoke again

"You asked me so many questions so I also have a few questions for you"

"What is it?"

Aradia laid down on her bed and looked at the ceiling

"When did you come here? In this world"

"About two weeks ago"

"What? And your already at this academy?"

"Yeah"

Lir hummed and looked at the moon which was shining brightly, almost too bright

"Is that all you're gonna ask?"

Aradia questioned trying to look at him while laying down

"What was your world like?"

"... It was alright"

The red head said not wanting to explain further

"Did it also have such a bright and beautiful moon?"

Yeon Haa stayed quite for awhile, thinking back to the life she had before this one

"It was.."

Lir noticed how the red head's voice had a hint of sadness and sorrow and maybe a little anger? Who knows

He didn't ask anymore questions and nor did Aradia

The moonlight fell on both of them showing how Lir was lost in thought and Aradia seemed to also be lost in thought just not good thoughts...

Bounas:

Lir: you trust me?

Aradia: no

Lir: damn you smart

Aradia: ....

Hi it's me again, Yan

So let me get straight to the point, I have exams this month (unfortunately) so I won't be able to post for awhile, that's it

We hardly had any classes these past months and now the teachers just dropped a whole load of assignments onto us to finish in like three days before the exam, math alone has 36+ assignments so imagine having to deal with so many assignments in the nik of time for ten subjects (I hate my school)

Anyway I rushed this chapter for you all, so if it's not that good please ignore it

Have a good day, afternoon, evening or night

Once again please forgive this lowly author for any grammatical errors

And I'll see you all in June

Bye~
