KDA x Male Reader // Absolute Zero

"After a few fortunate... maybe unfortunate circumstances have occurred however you wish to perceive it but for our group, it might be a real big deal or just enough publicity to get us noticed so that we may finally soar in this industry. Even then with all that has happened will we ever blow out like the stars that rose all around us?"

Chapter 6

It wasn't extremely hard to notice how my lifestyle was starting to change after meeting Akali. Not blaming her but she sure did play a part in changing it up by a fair amount.

Back at their building, I climb through the floors, the stop of the elevator makes my heart sore and crash back into its place. A sigh escapes my lips as I fall out the doors knocking on their door.

The door swings open and I am greeted by a beautiful face, I flash her a smile as she narrows her eyes.

Standing in awkward silence I shake my head, "Pleased to see you again Eve."

She groans, "Akali is out."

"I know that. I was asked to help Ahri and-"

Interrupting me, "Isn't one of the girls enough?"

"Give me a break. It's not like I plan to emotionally break them down, besides how do you even want me to answer that question?"

To my surprise, she chuckles, "A simple yes or no would have been enough." She backs off from the door, following her I see her glance, "Ahri did mention you were going to help us out with our plans."

"I was volunteered... Wait! If you knew then why are you questioning me!?"

She shrugs, "Perspective (Y/n). I want to know what you want with us. "

I sigh, "I bet you just enjoy torturing me."

She laughs sitting down on one of the couches. I look around at the neatly arranged room. It is not something you would expect of stars... it was oddly empty. I would imagine more decor or at least props laying around somewhere but they are extremely organized.

"That might just be it as well. You never did answer the question, what is it that you want? Is it just Akali or do somehow want to seduce all of us?"

She tilts her head, staring at me plainly. I can't read her at all, I ain't even sure if she is joking or not. Returning my gaze to her I think about it; what I want... the obvious answer would be Akali but I wouldn't be one to turn down the chance at all four of them.

I try to answer her but was interrupted by Ahri flying into the room, "Why didn't you say you were here? Come we have a lot of things we need to get done today! Thank you for greeting him, Eve! I'll see you later tonight!."

Grabbing my wrist I swing around, I glance over my shoulder catching her stare, it reaching into me trying to read all my thoughts.

In the elevator she continues, "Okay first we need to go shopping. Before you say that I should rather have asked one of the girls I just want to let you know that, yes, I should have asked them but I want to know more about the man Akali set her sights on and I just want an honest opinion."

"Should be fun," I reassure her with a smile. "But if you don't mind me asking my own questions."

"No, go ahead!"

We reach the ground floor, following her to her car she occasionally flashes me a smile, "So you said you wanted to know about me, why is that?"

Her ears twitch, a short pause before she answers, "Hmm chalk it up to a fox's curiosity I suppose; on the other hand, you aren't a once-off deal either. I am just wondering why in such a short time she has so much interest in you."

Pushing through the door, "Understandable, is she always like that? More of a once-off fix or-"

"It is difficult once you hit a certain amount of popularity. Everything about you is known except for all the private and juicy information. Pretty hard to find a companion that sees you as an equal rather than a goddess."

"Correct me if I am wrong but don't all girls want to be treated like one?"

She smirks, "It really depends who you as, but for Akali, I'd imagine it is more about someone to be normal around without having to uphold a standard created by the public. Besides it feels rather one-sided if you know everything about one person and they know nothing about you."

"It does make more sense if you put it that way. Then what about you? What is it you prefer?"Reaching the car I slide into the passenger seat, starting the car she briefly makes eye contact with me before reversing. Driving through the streets she opens the window slightly.

"I..." she pauses, narrowing her eyes she then shakes her head, "I don't know what I want. I guess I will figure that out when I find it."

"I thought you had a boyfriend?"

She tilts her head, her lips open partly, a sigh escapes, "I do. We have been together for a very very very long time."

"You make it sound like it's been too long."

"If you are implying I feel like it's not the same anymore then you are assuming correctly. We started dating a bit before my first debut. He runs a massive clothing line and helped me design my image as a rising star."

"And now?"

She chuckles, "As I said his clothing line is massive. Being international and all that has been keeping him busy. I spend a lot of time alone and with the girls and he spends his time traveling."

I grind my teeth together suppressing some of the anger trying to not let it show, "He just left you here."

"Along with some empty promises to be back soon but I never really paid any attention to it. I am used to him and his travels."

"Don't you think it's about time you left him behind? I mean for your own sake. That loose end is keeping you from finding that thing that you want."

She smiles, "I have done my fair share of thinking. I would have done it a long time ago if I wasn't afraid that I will lose something that I just couldn't see."

Shaking my head I stare at the passing cars, I notice her staring at me as she parks the car, "I am the last one to give advice but you deserve better than that. If your fans would treat you better than your companion then it should stop there."

I turn to look at her, wearing a bright smile, "I came here to know more about you yet here we are discussing my broken relationship."

I chuckle, we both slide out of the car, "But back to my original question, Ahri."

"Ah yes, apart from everything Akali has told us about you and your old team. I was a bit curious about you at first. A music savant that somehow has no knowledge about us. Why is that?"

I laugh, "I just didn't care about anything other than my team I guess. We at Absolute Zero did what we could to survive and we made a name for ourselves even if it wasn't big. I decided long ago to not care about any other group as to keep my focus on us. I don't think we would be able to make as much progress if I was busy worrying about the fame of others."

"To not get jealous?"

"That and I didn't want the two of them to be discouraged that other people rose quicker than us."

She nods, "I agree. If you are too busy looking at others you won't be able to better yourself. But to my other question... how do you feel?"

"In general or?"

She bursts into laughter, "No silly. About Akali, how do you feel about her?" I stay quiet as we walk thinking about my answer, she then leans forward meeting my eyes. "Hmmm?"

We both stop, "I like her a lot. I didn't expect for something this to happen but she is quite forward so I myself ain't really sure if she's teasing me or just overly flirtatious."

"Like biting her lips in front of you, flirting every second she gets the chance, and a lot of eye contact?" I nod, she in return giggles, "If she has to make it that obvious then you must be very dense."

Maybe I am. I'd rather be a hundred percent sure before I make a fool of myself.

Prodding me in my side she smiles, "She is super into you. So don't sweat the little stuff, don't think about it just trust your gut." She then starts walking again, "Considering that you already know what you want I would say that that is enough."

She then mutters under her breath, I couldn't hear it but I could make it out as 'Must be nice'. I feel my stomach twist at that; I can't help but feel sorry for her.

Trying to change the subject, "What are you need help with anyway?"

"I am doing some shopping for the girls and myself. The three of them are going to be quite busy with preparations for an event that will be happening next week so I have stocked up on some beauty products and fabric for our outfits."

I smile, "So I came along to help you of all people to shop?"

"Nooo, obviously not just that. Who will keep me company and help me get all of the bags to my car!?" she says dramatically.

"I wasn't complaining." I chuckle, "I know nothing of makeup and fabric of the sorts. So my opinion on most won't count for much."

"Nonsense just have fun."

We spent our time at the mall picking out some fabric for an outfit idea she had for her and the girls. She did, however, went overboard on the gold, and well I for one am excited to see what she will come up with.

I did also find out she has her own outfit line as well as her own range of beauty products. She was out there in the world but as a former pop star, I would expect as much. I learned quite a bit about skin routine and the importance of choosing the right product, admittingly it all sounds like a shit ton of effort.

We grabbed takeout to spoil the rest on our way back home. Sitting in the car I could smell the food in the back. Getting closer to their apartment I glance at Ahri wearing a bright smile.

"Enjoy yourself today?"

"I did yes! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me today."

I nod with a smile, "Can I ask you something?"

"Yes..."

"About Evelynn, is she usually like this, or does she hate my guts?"

"She doesn't hate you. She is just careful of you. She is super protective over the rest of us and she doesn't want you to bring any harm to any of us. So she will just scare it out of you and chase you away. Don't mind it too much... she will grow on you if you decide to stay despite her threats."

I mutter, "I hope it will be sooner than later."

Grabbing all the bags she easily carries the food into the building. Dragging all the bags with me I made two trips up and down managing to bring everything to their floor. She helps me with the bags bringing them inside.

"Hey, everyone! We are home!"

Once inside we are only greeted by Kai'Sa, "Hey you two. Eve and Akali are still out setting things up at the venue, apparently some issues with other major bands and groups threatening to tear the place apart over-bookings and listings."

Ahri then in return sighs, "I brought us some food so you didn't have to cook tonight again."Kai'Sa hugs her, "I really appreciate that. Go get into some more comfortable clothes while the three of us eat."

Ahri rushes past her into one of the rooms, Kai'Sa then turns to me flashing a smile, "Pleased to meet you again, Kai'Sa."

"It is a pleasure." She turns gesturing for me to come inside, "Please sit down."

Sitting down silence hit the room I try sparking a conversation, "So... how have you been?"

"I am fine and you?" she said with a smile.

"I am pretty good."

We sit there, talking, she and I. Only interested in keeping the conversation going. Gods forbid there be a pause...

She says something, followed by my pretendedly interesting response. I say something, and she politely laughs. Neither of us talking about the things that really matter: Like our deepest secrets, our hidden pain, or what brings us true joy...

She was hard to place, even harder to speak to. I guess that is just the person she was... I didn't know what to blame. Whether she didn't get close to Akali's interests or that she simply didn't care to be my friend. I am a little offended about it but maybe it's something that I can't think of so it's best just to let it be.

Ahri finally entered the room and Kai'Sa turned to her suddenly full of energy, "Did you manage alright?"

"Yes (y/n) really came through in helping to get everything we needed. Even saved me from the pain of having to drag everything into the building."

I speak up, "I am just happy I could have helped out."

My phone lights up with a message from Akali saying that they got caught up and she will meet up with me earlier tomorrow as she will not be able to make it tonight.

"What's wrong?" Ahri asks.

"They seem to be caught up and won't be home soon."

"No sense in waiting for them then. Let's dig into the food and send you off home."

We grab the food, I didn't take my time to eat and pretty much gulped it all down. Staying for a short while to enjoy the two's company as they exchange information on the event I finally excuse myself.

"I'll walk you out!"

Ahri follow me to the door, giving me a quick hug, "Stay safe out there okay?"

"I promise," I smile. "Enjoy the rest of your night."
