Chapter 28: My First Time
It was still early afternoon when we were dismissed from the gym. The new rogues that had taken the place of our former classmates were headed to the parking lot. I felt a bit leery about going in the same direction as them alone to meet Trent.
Darla picked up on my nervousness.
“We will walk with you, and then split off to the dorms,” Darla offered. I looked at the other two and gave them smiles of appreciation as they nodded in agreement.
Darla, Tim, and Marcus walked with me across campus and back to the parking lot.
“This is unfair… It’s unfair,” I commented. There was no other word that came to mind when thinking about the way they changed the rules for tug of war.
Darla gave me a look. "You really have been quite sheltered.”
I shrugged. She was right, of course.
