Chapter 26: I’m Going to Kiss You Now
Later that week, Trent, Ms. Julie and I met for dinner to talk about how to train for tug of war.
“When I went through this trial,” Trent began.” Everyone was paired with another rogue. The winners of the first rounds were safe. The winners of the second round were safe, the winners of the third round… etc. Until there was one person left who lost every round.”
He looked at Ms. Julie to see if she might have any thoughts.
“But they changed things up for the first trial, so we have to think about how they might change things this time as well,” she suggested.
My thoughts went to Darla and the skinny rogue she helped during the first trial.
“We also have to think about how the other rogues might cheat to win,” I said.
Trent nodded. “The biggest rogues will be safe. It is the smaller rogues that will really have to worry.”
"How did they pair you off during your trial?”
“I want to say that it was by height,” Trent answered.
