Mutants

Several cloaked figures followed behind and kept their distance from the group which had just arrived back at where the Ark Maxim and the other space ship from the Space Pirates were docked together.

Many automata were running around and checking over the ship. "Energy recharged!"

"Checkups complete!"

"Supplies confirmed."

"Additional bought goods safely stored away."

There were many types of different herbs, metals and other things which had been purchased and stored away safely but that was not all.

Within a small prison area within the ship were some caged people of different alien races.

Each of them were unique in their own way and could not be found on within the home planet.

Alyssia had asked for many materials and races to be gathered and there were many illegal dealings going on in the area so purchasing some slaves was a simple thing for Medea, Carrot and Ashwin.

Many checks were done and then everything had been prepared for the journey back just as the three returned to the ship.

Just as they were about to step onto the deck of the ship, several pale and cloaked figures jumped up onto the ship while showing off monstrous physical strength.

Carrot raised an eyebrow and then became excited. "Finally I can test this thing."

She had put on the ERG2 and the sent her electro into it which caused the metal claws to heat up and glowed.

The claws were designed as plasma weapons which would cut through almost anything with ease.

She leapt forward and cut through the first cloaked figure that attacked but they did not drop down as she expected.

The wound started to mutate and the body of the man lunged at her.

A warning came from behind as Ashwin yelled. "Carrot get back! Something is not right with these people."

They had remembered the warning before they left which Alyssia had given them.

They had to approach new people and environments differently because not everyone would use the same abilities as those found on their own planet.

Some planets had advanced in different ways to allow robots, cyborgs, mutants and other strange things to help them in their daily lives and to protect themselves from threats.

There was a need to not rush in so quickly because even a single person could have some form of trick up their sleeves.

They had a smooth journey and had not run into any big threats so they had become relaxed and let their guard down a little.

It was already too late because the mutation spread across the body like cancerous cells spreading and multiplying quickly.

The mutated hand touched and gripped hard onto Carrot who tried to avoid it and coated her arm with Electro and Haki.

The nails dug into her skin as Carrot struggled and then turned her body while jumping to deliver a powerful kick with both feet.

Her skin had broken and her wound looked frightening, many guns were fired by the rest of the crew suddenly and Ashwin flew up into the air to gain some distance.

The rapier in Medea's hand shone brightly with electricity then she disappeared from her spot.

She reappeared behind the mutant and there was a large wound on its body while the wound had been burnt by the strong voltage released during her attack.

The mutant let out a wild roar upon being harmed and then tried to go after Carrot again.

Ashwin shouted down. "It is regenerating! You need to aim somewhere else!"

He could see that the high voltage and plasma had some effect on reducing the regeneration and mutation rate but it would only do so much.

There was a need for a more decisive blow before the mutation spread further on the body and helped the mutant gain more endurance from having so much mutated flesh on the outside of their body.

A cold look appeared on Carrot's face as she surrounded her body in Electro and her ERG2 in Armament Haki.

She reappeared behind the mutant and plunged the plasma claw deep into the back of the head.

The brain was pierced and burnt up by the plasma claw which ended the life of the mutant but then she started panting suddenly.

Another mutant appeared near her when she was panting and struck towards her.

Carrot was injured upon being attacked during her weakened state. "Ugh."

Medea appeared near Carrot and frowned. "Something is wrong here.. Ashwin, take Carrot away now. I will deal with them."

She had guessed that the cut on Carrot had something to do with her weakened state and that a solution had to be found soon.

A cold and murderous look appeared in her eyes as she started to disappear and reappear behind the mutants while surrounded in thunder.

Each time she flashed, her sword quickly struck the back of the mutants head and pierced into the skulls and fried their brains.

One of the mutants saw his allies dying and he was one of the more timid of the bunch so he dropped to his knees. "Spare me.. spare me.. you cannot kill me. Ah.. yes.. the antidote! You need the antidote! You have to go to the doctor if you want your friend to survive!"

Carrot was carried inside the Ark Maxim and then placed in a ward which had been closed off to keep her contained within.

Since they did not have Tristan or Alyssia around and did not understand anything about the present state of Carrot, it was best to keep her separate from the others until they could find a solution.
