Chapter 4 - Before the Audition (1)
It was October eighteen, just two days before the audition. Oh Min-Hee wore her school uniform which consisted blue pleated skirt, white shirt and a blue jacket with a yellow nameplate on it. She looked at the vanity mirror and tied her hair in a simple ponytail style and left her room.
She noticed two sandwiched kept at the dining table and she took them instinctively and left the house. She knew it was left by her father who left for his job early and didn't mind it.
She cycled her way to school and reached the school within twenty minutes. She stood in front of the entrance and looked at the huge board hanging which stated 'St. Marie High School'. She sighed and thought that it would be another tiring day and entered the school.
She entered class 1-D and sat at the last desk of the classroom. She could hear the gossiping of her classmates like 'What celebrity A did to celebrity B?', 'The latest trend of songs' or 'The game they played'. The teacher entered the the class after fifteen minutes and Oh Min-Hee closed her english workbook she was working on.
The bell rang again after the fifth period and it was lunch time. Everyone got up from their seats and rushed to the cafeteria to get their food. Oh Min-hee was the first among them because she was also quiet hungry and reached the cafeteria in the first batch of students. She took her food and sat at an empty table of six.
Without her permission, four girls sat at the remaining seats available at her table. They ignored her and started talking amongst them. At fist, Oh Min-Hee was going to ignore them but they spoke of a topic that interested her and so she listened.
"Eun-Sun, are going to participate in the coming HBYE audition this Sunday."
A girl, who was eating her rice looked towards the one who spoke and replied in a sweet voice that will melt everyone's heart.
"Yes, I'm going to the audition."
Cha Eun-Sun, looked gorgeous in her school uniform with her short blunt bob hairstyle and light makeup which amplified her already beautiful features. Another girl the asked Eun-Sun.
"What are you going to perform for your audition? Are you singing or dancing?"
"I'm going to sing for my performance because I'm confident in my vocals."
"But I heard that HBYE Label put more emphasis on dancing than the vocals. So wouldn't it be better to dance."
"No, I asked a sunbae who attends this school who is also an idol trainee at HBYE Label that they are focusing on both the vocals and dancing of the performers. Even if I chose to dance instead of singing, I know that if I dance, I'll not be selected because my dance is not up to par."
Oh Min-Hee who was listening from the side thought to herself that it is a relief that she is not going to dance because she was planing to perform a dance. Even one less competitor was good for her in her area. Then the girl who was taking questions asked again.
"Who is this sunbae you are speaking of because I know of only one from our school and he goes to a different agency."
The last girl who was only listening among the group of four finally said.
"That sunbae goes to an agency called Skuce Entertainment. This June, the HBYE label brought over Skuce Entertainment and is now under HBYE Label. Therefore he is a HBYE Label trainee now."
"OH….."
The bell rang again and all of them headed towards their classroom.
The seventh period was P.E but Oh Min-Hee was not interested in going. So she just put her head down so that she could sleep for a while but the class representative disturbed her sleep by calling out to her.
"Everyone needs to attend the P.E class, no one is exempted."
Oh Min-Hee was annoyed but she had to say something to get the class rep of her back and so she said.
"Tell the P.E teacher that I'm on a period. The teacher will understand."
"The class rep blushed and then the class rep left the room.
The school ended and everyone headed home.
