Loot and Boot

My awakening that morning wasn't peaceful, My breathing was laboured and I was covered in a cold sweat. I couldn't stop the flashes of my blade against the sleeping man's neck, the sound of the thump his body made when it hit the floor rang in my ears. I squeezed my eyes shut and slapped my cheeks, the stinging sensation snapping me out of my trance and waking me up enough to trudge towards the bathroom.

I almost didn't recognize myself in the mirror, dark bags under my eyes, dishevelled hair and eyes that seemed older than they were. The red marks littering my neck stinged to touch, I must have been scratching my neck.

The hot water of the shower seemed to melt away the burden of guilt off my shoulders momentarily. However the harsh knock on the door of the bathroom snapped me out of my daze.

"Naruto, get out you've been in there long enough" Sasuke's voice called out aggitated. I swiftly turned off the water and dried myself with my towel. I looked around for my clothing but blanched when I realised I didn't bring any with me.

'There is no way we are asking that emo for clothes, I would take our chances going out in a towel' Inner wallowed, her form wobbling side to side like a reflection in a pond.

I wrapped my towel around my body and mustered up the courage to open the door and walk out. Leaving a shell shocked, slacked jaw Sasuke standing there wondering what the hell just happened. I trotted as fast as I could to my room and slammed my door shut, quickly dressed myself and stumbled down the stairs towards the kitchen.

My mouth watered at the sight and smell of the delicious food Tsunami prepared, Tsukemono, Gohan and Miso shiru.

"This looks so good!" I marvelled, Tsunami's reaction made my grin widen.

I immediately shoved food in my mouth as politely as I could, The flavour was almost too good to be true.

"It's like heaven wept in my mouth!" I spoke loudly, the food already in my mouth muffling my voice. Tsunami waved her hand in front of her face sheepishly, Her bashful smile was too cute.

"Maa Sakura-Chan, don't speak with your mouth full" Kakashi reprimanded with an exasperated look on his masked face.

"Maa Kaka-Sensei, Don't just swallow your food down. Plus I already know what your face looks like" A cheshire grin spread on my face and the gleam in my eye promising trouble.

Sasuke perked up with a determined look on his face, Knowledge like that was precious among Team 7, anything we could use to blackmail sensei into teaching us something useful was like gold.

"You don't deserve to see Kaka-Baka's beautiful face!" I spoke, pointing at Sasuke and closing one eye in a wink. Sasuke sat back in his chair with a humph, promptly crossed his arms and sent a wicked glare my way. I rolled my eyes and stood up with my plate, walking towards the sink to clean it.

Kakashi's glare dug into my back as I cleaned my dishes thoroughly. The threat of revealing his face was more than enough to get on his bad side.

Tazuna must have walked into the kitchen when I was washing my plate, when I turned around he was sitting down making small talk with Kaka-Baka.

"So who will be guarding me today? I have an odd feeling about today. It's colder than usual" Tazuna grunted as he scratched his chin.

"Since Sakura-Chan and Sasuke have finished their training they will be guarding you. Of course I will be coming along this time." Kakashi explained as he nodded to himself.

I scrunch my nose in distaste at the thought of Sasuke ruining Sakura and Sensei bestie time.

"Arghhggg FiiiIIInnNEEE" I grumbled, my lip slightly curled in disdain, I flipped my hair behind my shoulders and walked off to sharpen my kunai before we left.

Today would be the day that Zabuza came, however it may not be a fight we would be getting. I had sent a clone in Gato's place, I used my chakra control to mimic Gato's chakra signature in the clone. This time Kakashi would heavily injure Zabuza and I would kill him. I want the Kubikiribocho as my signature weapon and Zabuza would not hand it over alive.

Haku however would live, He has so much life to live and a Kekkei Genkai that should not be wasted.

I waited outside for Tazuna, Kakashi and Sasugay to finish up inside as they cleaned their plates and what-not.

I sharpened my kunai absentmindedly as all these thoughts flooded my head. The sound of the door opening snapped me out of my daze, sending the knives all over on the ground. I scrambled to pick them up and throw them in the correct pouches as they walked past me, not waiting for me to finish.

Once I caught up I could hear Sasuke scoffing at me, His pitch eyes narrowing in annoyance.

"You better not drag us down, I can't expect you not to screw up… Your just a weak civilian born" The ravenette spat, his words felt like a knife to the gut. I turned my gaze to Kakashi who was in front of us, I felt my rage churn in my stomach as he didn't even bat an eye. Tazuna glanced at us with furrowed brows before turning to the masked man, certainly expecting him to defend me.

We walked in silence as the bridge came into view, I was too tired to bother snapping at Sasuke, I instead turned my focus on the battle ahead. I focused a miniscule amount of chakra to my ears, enhancing what I could hear by tenfold. The sound of a body plopping silently in the mist caught my attention, The mist was considerably thick, it was perfect to test my mix of Jutsu on.

"Be on guard, This is Zabuza's Jutsu at work" I called out before Kakashi could, The chakra channelled in my ears retreated back to my reserves.

Kakashi had us surround Zabuza in a triangle. The sound of Zabuza's voice broke the silence like a kunai against a mirror.

"Sorry I kept you waiting Kakashi, I see you still got those brats of yours. That one is still trembling…. Pathetic." His voice rasped, I took a kunai in each hand and raised my arms in an X formation across my chest.

I felt the empty void of hidden chakra signatures around us, about seven clones surrounded us, the tension thick enough that you could cut it with a kunai.

I heard Sasuke's comment about him 'trembling with excitement' and couldn't help but giggle in a manner that sounded like a psych patient.

I could almost hear Zabuza's raised eyebrow through the mist.

'Someone's a bit ballsy' Inner raised her eyebrow with a grin, Her tone was pretty much a signal to go.

I rushed forward and closed my eyes, rushing towards the clone in front of me and destroying it with a quick slash of my kunai. It took very little effort to kill off the other clones. Almost too easy...

I could practically hear Sasuke grit his teeth in annoyance, The little civilian girl took down his targets.

"So you could see they were water clones, The brats are improving… Looks like you have a rival Haku" The sound of Zabuza and Haku footsteps slightly muffled by the mist.

"It wouldn't matter if they were water clones or not. If given the chance when in battle against the enemy, always strike to kill" I spoke in a monotone, imitating Haku's tone patterns.

"It seems so"

Kakashi, Sasuke and Tazuna spoke about Haku's mask, Sasuke talked about defeating Haku in battle and I couldn't help but roll my eyes.

Suddenly a spinning gust of wind encased Haku as he swirled around coming towards us.

I forced myself to relax and increased my grip on my Kunai, Haku only seemed to want to attack Sasuke.

"Kakashi-Sensei I sense some Chakra signatures down near the water, I will go eliminate any threats and keep the bridge builder safe." I spoke confidently, I could feel Kakashi's lack of confidence in me. Before he could say anything I threw the bridge builder over my shoulder and ran towards the edge of the bridge. The plunge towards the bottom was nerve wracking, the adrenaline rush feeling all too amazing. I sent chakra to my feet and landed on the water's surface without injuring myself.

I ran towards one of the beams of the bridge and set Tazuna on it, Scanning the area with my chakra and sensing a barge nearby.

"There are many hostiles north-west, I will bring you with me." I handed the man a Kunai from my pouch just in case.

"Keep your grip strong and don't be afraid to kill if they attack. They are all low level thugs, I doubt they are able to water walk so don't worry." I nodded to the man and proceeded towards the barge, I brought my hands into the few hand signs required and cast the genjutsu with a small spike of chakra.

"Magen: Narakumi no Jutsu" I called out silently, watching as the thugs eyes glazed over and their jaws fell slack.

I wasted no time and went straight in for the kill, Slash, slash, slash. One by one they fell to the ground, leaking their lives onto the floor of the dirty barge. I quickly searched the bodies for anything useful and ended up with a decent amount of money. These small riches would be given back to the people of waves, I felt a sudden surge of chakra from up on the bridge and knew something big was going down.

I sprinted towards Tazuna and threw him over my shoulder like a sack of potatoes once again. This time I concentrated chakra in my hands to keep Tazuna secure as I ran up the bridge pillar.

That surge of Chakra was Haku activating his ice prison it seems, I placed Tazuna down behind a few barrels of tar and building supplies, keeping him somewhat hidden.

"Don't make a noise" I whispered as I slapped a chakra suppressing seal on Tazuna's forehead, his chakra now imitating a flies.

I used the hiding in water technique to speed through the mist, I ended up inside of one of Haku's ice mirrors causing the boy to gasp in shock.

I narrowed my eyes at Sasuke's battered and bloodied form for a split second before turning to Haku with a malicious grin on my face.

"So you pummelling my teammate, On one hand I would like to thank you for beating some sense into him. On the other hand I can't exactly let you do that." I spoke as I tried grasping the mirrors with my chakra and pushing Haku out of them forcefully.

I let the mirrors melt into water as something hit Haku in the face, sending him to the ground.

Naruto appeared with a grin on his face, starting to fill the area with clones. I took this as the perfect time to shunshin to Gato's headquarters and loot the place, letting my teammates duke it out with Haku.

.

.

I cast the thugs guarding the place under a Genjutsu and headed straight for Gato's room. The door to the safe was easy to break using the water in the air to expand inside of the door to the vault. My eyes sparkled in pure joy at all of the loot in the vault, I sealed all of its contents inside of my 'loot' scroll and continued to search the room.

I sealed half of the money in a separate scroll for the townspeople, as this money was rightfully theirs. I was just technically taking my cut, I was about to leave when I stepped on an odd floorboard.

The floorboard squeaked ever so slightly as I lifted my weight off of it, I took a closer look and realised there was enough space for me to lift it.

A Cheshire grin spread across my face when I found an odd scroll below the false board, I stuffed the scroll into my pocket and placed the floorboard back to how it was.

I felt my chakra reserves and realised I had enough for about one more shunshin back and a low c-rank Jutsu. When I shunshined back there was a corpse of Haku and Zabuza was killed by a few remaining thugs.

I bowed my head for a few minutes in respect before glancing around, looking for the Kubikiribocho that had been thrown somewhere on the bridge. I found the large sword near the edge of the bridge, I brushed my hand over it and felt it hum against my touch as if it was calling me. I made quick work to seal it away quickly as Zabuza was saying his last goodbyes to Haku. The sudden snowfall distracted everyone long enough for me to get away with it.

.

.

.

I said goodbye to Tazuna and the villagers, chuckling at Naruto and Inari's talk. I sent Tsunami the biggest and brightest grin I could muster and thanked her profusely for her cooking.

"Thank you truly, I hope we meet again someday!" I smile as I walk away with Team 7 and wave at the villagers.

The bridge was named 'The Great Team 7 Bridge' in the end. The name in my opinion is better than the actual plot name. We were now setting off back to Konoha, The Chunin Exam arc is coming up soon.

This is exhilarating… Get excited!
