Chapter 55

The day after they arrived at the estate was so calming. The sun was shining brightly, making Callavan warmer. Children of the orphanage were thrilled to have their princess back, as well as the maid and the staff. Doctor June and Metuselah already checked Iris, and they confirmed that her health was far better than before. Her health energy capacity was greater if compared to how it was before. Though it was not as healthy as other people or balance with the mana energy capacity, the gap was getting narrow. Therefore, when she is expose or use mana for magic it will not cost her health as much as before. Then, Metuselah recorded all in chronological order on how Iris and Iowyrthe obtained the Amandine flower. So far, they only remembered the kiss and the last word, "Stay together".

Marquis Kvasir had to go back to Troika to take care of Kvasir Manor for a while. Doctor June decided to recruit another assistant to run the clinic and trusted Hoppi with Euntaras Business which was recommended by Judah. The candidates were from Troika and Euntaras. Iowyrthe had trusted her to manage all regarding the medical and health issue in the three regions, Callavan, Troika, and Euntaras. Soon they will open another clinic in Troika and Euntaras. They hoped that they can provide medical assistant for all the people under the Duke and Marquis reigned area.

Metuselah also prepared to go back to Aurinko that day. He promised to help them if any things come up, but first, his priority was set on investigating the demon and the prophecies. He also opened to train some potential new mage recruited from the three regions and from Aurinko. Mage's power seemed to help a lot and the empire surely must prepare for a battle and even a war with demons.

"Princess, do not hesitate to call me. We have a binding oath after all." Metuselah ensured her by whisper, when he about to bid his farewell. He was just about to kiss her hand, when another hand interfered.

"Old Mage, I bid you farewell." Iowyrthe with his cold stares stopped him.

"Well, it looks like your fiancée is a little jealous to this Old Mage, Princess."

Iris chuckled and stopped suddenly. She realized how could she so amused seeing Iowyrthe teased. She calmed herself. She didn't want to fall deeper in love in that small moments seeing Iowyrthe.

"Farewell, Metuselah. Thank you for everything." Iris smiled and waved her hands.

It was only a few second before Iowyrthe took her waving hand. He said, "Don't stay outside too long. If you are tired or get too cold, then faint, that will be troublesome." Metuselah sighed but feel relieved that the Duke was showing a much more positive attitude towards the Princess. Princess survival seemed secure with those small actions.

He then held her hand while walking to the manor. The butlers and the maids were whispering. As they see their Duke and the Princess was getting closer. "Io, can we discuss something?" Asked Iris.

"Sure." He was walking straight toward the study room without letting her hand go. Iris felt something warm rushing through her vein. She knew that she supposed not to feel that way, but she could not stand how Iowyrthe treat her now. It made what she wanted to talk about even more difficult.

"Bring some refreshment. I will have tea with the Princess." The maids bowed their head and went outside.

"So, what do you want to discuss?"

"First, let me thank you for your help in obtaining the Amandine Flower. It was amazing. I feel so much better now. I will forever be grateful, Your Highness."

"Io it is. How many times do I have to say it, Iris? And don't mention it. You saved me once, now I pay you back."

"It is about what we have talked earlier," Iris took a deep breath and said, "You said you would give me a piece of a land for me to live, after we go to Calpara. So, I want to ask about it." Iris turned her head away. She avoided looking directly into Iowyrthe's hazel eyes.

Iowyrthe was looking in disbelief. He knew that he said it himself, but he cannot believe that Iris will be asking this soon. The room grew colder. He didn't even have an answer for that question. He expected that Iris will just stay after all the time that they spent together. He didn't believe that it wasn't enough. Apparently, that trust has broken too much. He reaped what he sowed. He felt the desperation that Iris went through when he treated her cruelly.

He smiled bitterly and replied, "Let me prepare for a week, I will find you the best land here in Callavan and assign some maids and workers for you there. Felix will also station there to protect you. He is your knight after all. But he needs to recover first."

"Thank you, Your Highness. Eh, Iowyrthe." Iris smiled. But deep in her heart, she wanted Iowyrthe to reject her proposal and keep her here in the estate. However, she thought that it was for the best. She couldn't help but fall deeper if she stays here. After all, Iowyrthe himself said that he would never love her.

Seeing her smile, Iowyrthe couldn't help but thinking, "Are you really waiting for this, Princess? Are you really happy?"
