Chapter 54

Iris felt good that morning when she woke up. She was calm and relaxed. The weather was a little warmer, it was totally different from when they first arrived there. She found Iowyrthe cape and she smiled unknowingly. She checked Felix who was still sleeping. The wound has getting better significantly. Metuselah was already out from that tent. He took care the wounded soldiers.

Iris decided to go out from the tent too. She put on her cape and intent to give back Iowyrthe's cape. Right when she was in the tent door, Iowyrthe stood up with cold face.

"My cape?"

"Here, I am about to give it back."

"Oh, okay." Iowyrthe turned his back.

"Thank you, Iowyrthe." Iris smiled. Hearing those words made Iowyrthe blushed. He walked out with faint mesmerizing smile.

They prepared to go back to Callavan that noon. All the wounded soldiers were prioritized, including Felix. He woke up few hours before but still hurt and pale. Iris asked so he can take the carriage with her.

"It is not good to made him specials. Severely wounded knights should go in carriage too. It will be best if you're sacrifice yourself to make a space for them." Iowyrthe did this because he was still annoyed that Iris was prioritizing Felix.

"Well, I don't mind. You can take me with your horse, right?"

Iowyrthe was taken aback. He didn't expect that Iris will accept it and even want to go together with him.

"So?" Iris asked again.

"Mmm, sure, why not?" He scratched his head unconsciously.

Iowyrthe then helped Iris to get on the horse.

Along, the way Iowyrthe was blushing. He could smell her hair. A princess hair was rather having a different smell, he thought. However, her long hair plus the wind was not a good combination for long trip on a horse.

"Can you tie your hair? It is kind of disturbing my view."

"Geez…" Iris was irritated but rather have no fight, because they will spend few hours on the same horse together. She replied, "I don't have any hair band with me."

"Here." Iowyrthe gave her a handkerchief. It was a black with gold pattern. It has his initials with gold thread embroidered at the corner.

"Sure, he got expensive and elegant taste." Iris commented silently.

She tied her hair, but Iowyrthe didn't prepared that her black opal hair will shine so much from sunshine reflection. He didn't prepare to be amaze by the colour her hair reflected. His breath was taken away.

"Your Grace, can we continue?" Iris voice snapped him back to reality.

He was taken aback a little and resulting in forcing the horse too much to start run. The horse was running all of the sudden and Iris was surprised that she hugged Iowyrthe on reflex. She was holding his chest tight and burrow her head. She could hear his heart racing.

"Pardon, I am kind of surprise." He was blushing.

Meanwhile, Metuselah, Nicholas, and his entourage held their pace a little to give them some room in time.

Indeed, there was a saying, sometimes, two people have the same feeling. Other notice. They, themselves, notice not.
